What's your opinion on Trump's controversial comments on Congress Women??

Opinion on Trump's comments on Congress Women

Can we add "Who cares?" to the list of poll options? facepalm.gif

I now count 16 separate discussions either on or closely related to the "controversial comments". For a nation facing down the kind of problems America is facing, your priorities are badly warped. Sticks and stones will break your bones, pens and quills will write your bills, "controversial comments" on Twitter will never hurt you.

In Trump's first two years in office I've learned 2 things.
1.) What you see is what you get. Trump doesn't mince words and in a political sense it's sometimes refreshing. Most politicians use doublespeak.

2.) Trump engages mouth before brain. He tweets things that are completely unpresidential. His aides should bar him from twitter at times.

If he gets re-elected, he needs to balance these two.

President Donald Trump in his tweets has criticized the Democratic congresswomen by using racist language and asked them to go back to their broken and crime-infested countries. A President can talk like that. What do you feel about his comments?

Trump's comments are scummy trash from his garbage filled mind spewing onto the twitter feed.

If there are any sane and rational Republicans left in D.C. or in America in general we sure aren't hearing from them, they should be speaking as a block, denouncing this mental case in the Oval office.

Alas I have only seen and heard a short handful of such Republicans speaking out against his blatant misogynistic, bigoted, xenophobic, racist and unstable screeds!

They're the comments of a chickenhawk and serial sexual predator who has had everything in his life handed to him on a golden platter, from which he eats, and who then drops a deuce into a golden toilet bowl. His tiny pink manicured hands are no more matched to wielding the wheel of the ship of state than his tiny spittle encrusted pink mouth is matched to putting a sentient thought to statesmanlike words with which to guide it.

Strip away the purloined wealth, the tailored suits, the trappings of leisure, the court jesters and handlers, the fawning sycophants and the circle of groveling yes men, drop him off in the middle of heartland America with a shovel and he wouldn't last fifteen seconds, because his supercharged mouth would most assuredly begin to write checks he couldn't hope to ever cash, and he'd be exposed as the lunatic that he is.

Some people used to have a drunken uncle who didn't mince words. Most of them didn't know how to find their own bunghole with a roadmap, a tweezers and a flashlight.
Trump is that drunken uncle, only he was handed a fortune as a youngster.

I understand your feelings about him but I think he'll get re-elected unless one of the many dem contenders steps up and actually gives me a reason to vote for one of them. All they do is bash trump. Give me some solid information on what you will do for the country if elected...

Of course I completely disagree with what Trump said.

Telling them to go back to their country or even their neighborhoods was meant as racial epithet - suggesting their places are 's***holes'. Telling them to stay out of politics is ridiculous - that's what they were elected to do. Saying they should leave if they don't like it is also ridiculous: they were elected to effect change. Suggesting they aren't American is birtherism: three were born in the US. Suggesting they support terrorism, a flat f***ing lie and a vicious smear.

The whole thing is bigotry from top to bottom.

Donald J Trump is a repulsive excuse for a human being and has proven himself yet again completely unfit for office.

I neither agree nor disagree with what Trump tweeted because I understand WHY he made those tweets. I understand his purpose for making those tweets. That is what's important. Not the content of the tweets.
Here comes Mycroft, Trump-splaining POTUS for us. Does he go through you when he tells our enemies like Kim that he loves him? Or Putin?

More than just bashing Trump. Maybe take a deeper gander and you will get the opportunity to read what they've had to say about the issues.
It depends to some extent where you're getting your information from.

Trump explained himself.

The Dems were trying to distance themselves from the four “progressives,” but now they are forced to embrace them. That means they are endorsing Socialism, hate of Israel and the USA! Not good for the Democrats!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 15, 2019

Even David Axelrod, Obama’s former right-hand man, says this is what Trump is doing:

With his deliberate, racist outburst, @realDonaldTrump wants to raise the profile of his targets, drive Dems to defend them and make them emblematic of the entire party.
It’s a cold, hard strategy.

So no...I'm not explaining anything.

Would be interesting debate if he had used the singular rather than the plural.

Its refusing to take a stand and hide behind a technicality.

Its bigotry that you defend and you know it

I'm not hiding, I'm not running, I'm not attacking, and I'm not defending. Now you're just making stuff up.

"who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe"

You tell me. (and try not to make **** up, eh?)

Are you arguing that you don't know who he was talking about specifically, or that you do know who he was talking about? If you don't, then how can you argue that his comments were not racist? Maybe they were. They sure sounded like it. They sounded exactly like the sort of ignorant and xenophobic comments a 73-year-old racist American man might make. If you do in fact know who he was talking about and that's why you feel comfortable declaring that his remarks clearly weren't racist, then please point out specifically who he was talking about. If all you can do is repeat what he said, then you are dodging the issue in order to avoid having to draw the only rational conclusion.

Are you arguing that you don't know who he was talking about specifically, or that you do know who he was talking about?

I'm saying that YOU don't know who he was talking about, though that doesn't stop you from making erroneous guesses and then playing your race card...based on erroneous guesses.

Trump did not use "racist language". He did not tell "natural born Americans" to do anything.

Seriously, you two should get off that Trump-hating media you are addicted to. It's rotting your brains...making you believe lies. You deserve better for yourselves.

Anyway, in response to the poll, I neither agree nor disagree with what Trump tweeted because I understand WHY he made those tweets. I understand his purpose for making those tweets. That is what's important. Not the content of the tweets.

Don't get so caught up with the rhetoric. Look to the motivation and the goal.

And please...don't make **** up.

I have to remember that for future reference.

Trump was wrong to think all the disgruntled anti-American women of color came from foreign countries. Their hearts and their recent ancestors may have belonged to barbarian countries with venomous hatred for America, but several of them were actually born in America. It may take several generations to get the inbred hatred for America out of their bloodlines, however.

THREE are American born, Omar was eight years old when brought here from Somalia and she's a naturalized US citizen, every bit as much of a US citizen as you are. She's been a citizen longer than Melania Trump. You're wearing your racism on your sleeve with your ugly comment.

I have to remember that for future reference.

You should.

That way you won't get sucked in by the Trump haters, the Trump hating media and the Dems when they start making **** up.

I'm not hiding, I'm not running, I'm not attacking, and I'm not defending. Now you're just making stuff up.

I guess you are not doing anything.

Way to take a stand

Yep, the content of his tweets doesn't matter. Always good to learn something new.

I guess you are not doing anything.

Way to take a stand

Again, I'm not taking a stand one way or another. No need to guess; I've been explicit. And patient while waiting for you to finally catch on.

This is all Trump supporters have at the end of the day.

Their only defense of all of this is simply

"Nah Ah".

They had no credibility before, they have no credibility now and they never will have credibility.

You have no point. You're a JAFO.

Very old reference. Lol

You talk about credibility...when you have to make **** up to support your contentions about Trump racism?

Go figure...
