What "well regulated" means in the 2nd Amendment

How does mustering an armed militia (or as you put it a "bunch of gun lovers) reduce criminal behavior ?

Specifically what steps could/would a mustered, armed militia take to get "persons off the street" ?

The Act of mustering will accomplish that. See how easy it is.

How?

You think merely mustering the militia will make all the bad people disappear or magically cease their activity ?

What evidence do you have of that ?

What actions from this armed, mustered militia would the bad people fear ?

do you remember that toy that came out years ago, that was a magic eight ball? it has a bunch of stock answers and you shook it while asking it a question. Then an "answer" would appear in the window. It seems as if the poster in question had a bunch of stock phrases that are based on the language of what he perceives to be 18th century somewhat educated colonialists talking about gun rights and he puts them all into a bucket and when he wants to respond, he pulls one out and posts it on the thread

Yes, evasion is his main debating style.

Yes, the State, via our elected representatives has the delegated Power to ensure it. That Power is collective and plural not Individual or singular in any way.

You seem to have forgotten "the People."

Right, so the petition clause of the 1st Amendment, the 4th Amendment, those are all referring to the rights of the states?
And when the 10th Amendment distinguishes between the states and the people, that's just some random nonsense?

You still have yet to explain why criminals would suddenly cease their illegal activity upon the mere mustering of an armed militia?

What would or could an armed militia possibly do to get criminals "off the streets" as you put it ?

you are dealing with bot speak. It is rarely responsive to the thread or your post

Our Second Amendment is quite clear. There are no individual or singular terms in that amendment.

Because, they can only act upon one interest at a time.

I think it means keeping your firearms oiled?

Because, they can only act upon one interest at a time.

Explain

What interests would criminals be acting upon, one an armed militia assembled ?

Are you saying they would cease criminal activity or simply run away ?

If so, what activities would an armed militia threaten them with ?

What would the criminals be afraid of in your mind ?

They won't engage in the act of crime if they are engaging in the act of mustering.

They won't engage in the act of crime if they are engaging in the act of mustering.

Again your English fails you. I assume you mean they (the criminals) won't engage in the act of crime if they (the armed militia) are engaging in the act of mustering

But you already said this and are just repeating yourself.

You were asked:

1. What interests would criminals be acting upon, one an armed militia assembled ?

2. Are you saying they (the criminals) would cease criminal activity or simply run away ?

3. If so, what activities would an armed militia threaten them (the criminals) with ?

4. What would the criminals be afraid of in your mind ?

Are these questions too complicated for you to understand ?

Does it matter? My understanding of English is superior to yours.

I seriously, seriously, seriously doubt it. What level of education do you have ?

You post above demonstrates poor English skills as do your inability to understand simple questions (listed above)

Also on another thread you completely fail to understand:-

1. The meaning of the word "definition" - especially when applied to the phrase "an argument from ignorance" and give a definition of it

2. The meaning of the word "example" - specifically when applied to a "common" or "general" policy/law in relation to welfare, defense or indeed any governmental area at all

Well regulated means capable of effectively dying in place while holding a line. It means the line will not break and run. That requires training, equipment and vestment.

I disagree. Well regulated means in good working. Dying in place doesn't fit the definition.

I'm more a Patton type of guy. The purpose in war is not to die for your country. The purpose is to make that other SOB die for his.

Good working means the line doesn't break and run. There is no other standard.
