If your area gets quarantined, what items will you stock up on?

Shoppers reported stocking up on medications, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizers, face masks, surgical gloves, and pantry staples. Social media was filled with photos of shelves emptied of flats of bottled water.

Pantry items and toilet paper I get but not bottled water. Also, I have some (limited) antibiotics on hand for a secondary bacterial infection in the lungs.

though i don't see a quarantine as likely, this is stoking my stock up gene.

It's all stuff that you'll eventually use, so it's not a waste to be prepared.
I don't get the bottled water one though?
I think if the death toll rises dramatically or a particular area is hit hard, the gov might try to impose some kind of curfew.

I'll just go with the flow. At my age my chances of surviving a serious infection are slim, and if this thing goes on to kill as many as people is feared, why delay the inevitable? I know that sounds morbid, but it's also realistic. Helix did suggest vodka, so I'll happily go with that.;)

I don't need to stock up. We live in the country. We are already stocked up at all times, because we never know when storms and power issues will happen.

One thing that sucks is that tourism to Italy is discouraged now. My daughter and son-in-law have been saving for a belated honeymoon in Italy. He's from an Italian family. Hopefully, it won't be a long time period.

We have horses and other farm animals, so we are kind of used to outbreaks with the animals. If one doesn't vaccinate the horses, there is a big chance they will get the West Nile virus, and it is a modern disease. Vaccinations for this new human disease, could be at least a year away.

None, neither me or my family is in the at risk group.

The grandparents are, though. We've decided not to visit them or if we do, do so at a distance.

The usual zombie apocalypse planning... Canned foods, MREs, flashlights, shotgun shells, AK-47 mags, and explosives.

(This fear mongering is getting absurd.)

The two most valuable things in any crisis, drugs and porn. I became a prepper long ago.

;)

Coffee! There's a local guy who roasts it and it gets delivered fresh to my local store. Pretty cheap, too. If he gets sick, I don't know how I'll cope.... :(

Would you envision water company workers in hazmat suits (instantly?) fixing a water line break in a quarantined zone?

All the above, plus women.

The Leftists are going overboard with the fear mongering.

Besides, if you aren't already prepared, you don't have time to get prepared, hence you're **** out of luck.

i suppose that bottled water is in case utilities go out due to lack of maintenance. thirst can kill you in three days.

I've got something now, and thanks to the ambiguity of the coronavirus and limited testing, I'll probably never know if I have coronavirus or run-of-the-mill flu. Unless I die. In which case...yeah...I had the coronavirus.

Anyway, to answer the question...

1)orange juice with lots of garlic extract
2)lots of soup
3)gatorade
4)ibuprofen
5)cough drops

Yeah, we would stock up on bullets and take all the leftists' crap. :)

No, but seriously. I'm already stocked. Practice good hand washing and avoid people breathing on you, you'll be fine.

I'd be all jitted up and freaking drinking lots of coffee. :2razz:

Not really. Though, I guess it's possible. My fridge and A/C recently broke days apart. You can't hardly live without those in FL.

I know, right...lol

And they keep asking why we need Ar-15's and 10,000 rounds of ammunitiin. :lamo

Men will pay the same for porn and that's way less trouble. You're not gonna be selling trophy wives.

I never understood why people stock up with bottled water.
How many gallons does your water heater hold?

I have a 50 gallon and 30 gallon, and there is a year around creek near by.

I don’t stock bottled water. Food, ammo, batteries, vodka, I got plenty. (I don’t drink by the way, do you know what an alcoholic will trade for vodka?)

at the very least, it made me feel like i was doing something and gave me an excuse to eat what is essentially candy.

Aha, a sensible answer. I couldn't get my head around it.

I woke up sweaty this morning with a sore throat and headache and thought, oh ****. Turns out Aleve got rid of it. If you get really labored breathing that would be a good indicator. Hope you get to feeling better.

Good list of which I already have.

If I am quarantined I'll be damned if I am going to clean. They can find my body under the stacks of junk like an episode of hoarders.
