A simple inquiry has been made by several Hispanic religious groups and they deny her statements and claim them to be lies. Of course the left will only accept her unverified word and not their group words as truth. That they only accept what fits with their desires and agenda is a continuation of their racism and hate that has been going on in their quest for power forever.

I don't get why people keep saying things like, "Inquiries made with [insert special interest group here]" like that means something? Some groups say she's lying and some say she's telling the truth. Hello American politics. Do you actually believe what half of those groups are saying just because they endorse an opinion you share?

Do you believe her statements just because you happen to hope that they are true? And continuously ignore statements by others, without proof of your belief?

That is the definition of partisanship.

What is an "hour statement"?

Further proof that you have nothing if you resort to being the spelling police and fail to provide proof of your stance.

- You would have to ask AOC what changes she wants.
Why is that pertinent? YOU are the one that said asylum laws need to be changed. That's why I asked.
The Key is Congress (House and Senate) are responsible for immigration laws.
And? (see comment one).
- What violation is the Trump administration violating?
[I assume you meant "what law."] OMG, the character count will not allow me to list them all. But, let's start with 8 U.S. Code § 1158. (notwithstanding some glaring defects in that law). The gravamen is, "Any alien who is physically present in the United States or who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival and including an alien who is brought to the United States after having been interdicted in international or United States waters), irrespective of such alien’s status, may apply for asylum in accordance with this section or, where applicable, section 1225(b) of this title."
Immigration law is complex, no doubt, but the administration has failed to abide both technically and generally with the provisions of law it entails. How the United States Immigration System Works (American Immigration Counsel); Laws, Regulations, and Guides Immigration and Nationality Act (USCIS). As I mentioned earlier, the current process violates all kinds of local, State and federal laws with regard to detention and processing, and conditions, as well as humanitarian laws.
- Is it not the role of Congress to fund programs? Seems Congress dragged their feet on the immigration crisis in providing proper funding."
I don't disagree, and you can blame Mitch McConnell and John Boehner directly for that. Each, at different times, has refused to bring bipartisan bills to the floor because they knew they would pass.
The Senate failed to pass an immigration deal last year after a short debate, with most Republicans opposing a bill aiding Dreamers and providing $25 billion in border security and scant support for President Donald Trump's immigration plan either. Since passing a comprehensive bill in 2013 that the House ignored, the Senate has sputtered in its immigration debates despite broad agreement that Congress has failed to address the problem.
McConnell: Senate will 'probably not' vote on Dreamers bill (Politico).
Since you brought up the Treaty and Protocol, One of the roles of UNHCR is to mobilize international support for the protection of refugees, So I got to ask, what has the UN and UNHCR done to assist the US and Mexico?
I do not know the answer to that, but as a member State of the UN, the United States, on its own, and as a signatory to the treaty, has an obligation to comply with it. At a minimum, the "dignity" requirements which apply to everyone, even criminals. The Principle of Human Dignity in International Law (Ginevra Le Moli) Perspectives for an International Law of Human Dignity (Yale) [most such sources are subscription based, so I don't link to them.] One is hard pressed to concede that these detainees are "better off" in current conditions, since they don't even comply with minimal standards for convicted felons (Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners) (UN);FEDERAL PERFORMANCE-BASED DETENTION STANDARDS, or even many standards for animal husbandry.

Ok. The asylum laws need to be changed by not allowing those who enter illegally to use asylum.

Basically you are letting the UN off the hook and put the complete burden on the US. This treaty really should be reviewed because of its age.

So, you are acknowledging that under current U.S. and international law "unauthorized entry" is not a basis to deny asylum. That is good. I cannot agree with the rest of your statement, but I appreciate that you are realistic about what the law actually is.

As to the U.N., what do you suppose that they could do that the United States cannot do better itself? Fifth Committee Recommends $5.4 Billion Budget for 2018-2019 Biennium as It Concludes Main Part of Seventy-Second Session (And, are you letting the Trump administration off the hook for not following U.S. law? e.g., CBP's own "National Standards on Transport, Escort, Detention, and Search" - and statutes referenced therein.)

So shocked that AOC found problems with with CBP detention facilities.

Yet she seems upset when it's revealed that government forces broke up a child trafficking ring, or at the very least apathetic.

I think her loyalties are somewhat skewed.

It's obvious at this point that she's most likely lying. Because she's already been caught lying about crap concerning her and the border. So it's not too far fetched that she's doing just as such now.

So the pictures from IG are fake?

I don't doubt that some of the pictures may actually be genuine. However her already being caught staging those photos of herself and the fact that she's already trying to overplay the existence of the Facebook group, and that whole story about a women being told to drink from the toilet. Shows that she might not be the best of individuals to put front and center on this.

Her visit had her accosting and screaming at agents who were guilty of no more than doing their jobs, and she even lost it on another agent who began laughing at something that they were showing a fellow agent.
I don't care if the subject matter was her, she has no right to do so and to call for an investigation is just as absurd.

It would do better to have someone representing these people who was at least marginally less caustic, don't you think?

What's pretty obvious at this point is that someone with a handle that begins with "O" is lying... ;) And it's NOT "Ocasio-Cortez".

Source for her staging the photo ops?

With the lies that are spewed t the MSM, what makes you think anyone called would actually tell the truth?

:D If you lie under oath, you can go to prison. :D

That is the definition of partisanship.

I never said I believe her statements. You need to stop painting me as partisan by making up stories about stuff I never said.

LOL - using an actual "fake news" site... LOL

If that's all you have as a rebuttal. Then forgive me if I don't take you seriously in the least.

She's already gotten more than enough crap about this from her own fans on twitter and even the photographer chimed in about it. She's not looking at anything other then the facilities empty parking lot.

So if you want to take her acting seriously, by all means go ahead. I'd rather wait for someone a bit less caustic in personality and a good deal less veiled in motive.

I voted she exaggerated for political reasons. She should also know Congress is the key to make changes if she really believes what she posted. imo, BOR/ICE is not prepared to handle the numbers of illegal crossers or those seeking asylum. Congress needs to act now to change our aslyum laws.

What changes in asylum laws do you propose?

Photos Reveal AOC Was Crying Over An Empty Parking Lot | Zero Hedge

It's already been shown that she was just looking at the empty parking lot.

After visiting a prison and interviewing Chinese women facing deportation I had much the same type of experience. It's what's in someone's mind and what they remember of a recent experience that can cause emotion, as much as what she was looking at. And my God, the right wing is fixated on AOC. Good grief! Is that all you got? She didn't cry up to your standards? The Ocasio Obsession outdoes any Trump Derangement Syndrome by far.

So under your system, migrants who have a legitimate fear of torture or death are supposed to get Miranda-like warnings from their smugglers not to cross the border illegally? Or would you have the drug gangs who threatened them with death in say, Honduras, provide that information? Just might work.

*sigh* If bitching about people pointing out how absurd Cortez is, is the only thing you have then by all means take it somewhere, where someone actually cares.

We've had literal years of you people crying and moaning about Trump, over some of the most absurdly idiotic reasons and have only been laughing at you. It spawned the concept of Trump derangement syndrome for ****s sake.

So by all means, go ahead and cry that we're talking about Cortez. I don't really care, as she's a damn clown when it comes to knowing what she's actually talking about. Probably even more so than what it comes to with Trump.

- entering the US illegally then claiming asylum. If one wants to seek asylum one should enter through legal means.
