What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Tonight is Pot Roast.

I separated a stick of butter, and added that to my oil, sans the milk. Browned 2 yellow onions with some garlic, put that in the crockpot. Did same with mushrooms, browned with garlic, same oil. While that was cooking I coated my Pot roast in a garlic powder, onion powder, garlic salt, pepper and flour mix. I browned the meat in that with the same oil, adding more garlic. I put that in the crock pot with 6 cups of chicken stock, Thyme, Garlic, pepper, Basil, Rosemary and salt. Added Red and Yellow potatoes, corn and some baby carrots. Put it on high for 90 min, and when that timer dings, I will lower to low and leave it alone till dinner around 1800.

lean cuisine fettuccine Alfredo
bread stick with nacho cheese

Final touches, opened the pot up to add some Corn Starch water, for texture. Meat is melting off the roast, it's freaking delicious. Tad sweet, the tiny bowl I had, but... caramelized yellow onions will that do.

The local store had some yummy baquette, which we turned into a crispy and spicy tofu banh mi sandwich.

A very delicious Taco Salad.

Lettuce, onions, black olives, green peppers, jalapeño, salsa, corn, black beans, brown low fat hamburger with taco seasoning mix.

Make your very tasty Taco salad.

frozen leftovers from this dinner :

non-salad part : one minute in the microwave, and then five minutes at 400F on a cookie sheet. i have yet to find a pizza that isn't better than fresh when re-heated by this method. even lousy pizza gets better.

I have yet to taste a pizza that is truly awful. The cheap, grocery-store variety is obviously sub-par, but I'll eat the **** out of that too.

The last thing I ate was a salad, bought at Wal-Mart, where I work. There's a Subway there, and I normally get a sandwich, which mentally preps me to go into work early enough to do that, but I wanted something different, and I'm actually one of those weird people who actually loves a good salad.

Pizza night again, so: bacon pepperoni cheeseburger pizza, with a Belgian lambic ale and bananas for dessert.

We had lettuce wrap with spicy veg and quinoa. Those Thai chilies packed a punch, we are still sweating.

1/2 grilled cheese
1/2 tomato soup
baguette

my folks came down to take us to a birthday dinner.

had some Noble Roman's deep dish pizza and breadsticks.

Last night was more baked breaded empire kosher chicken w/ peas and corn on the side.

Tonight is going to be a grilled sirloin steak. Too lazy to go downstairs to see exactly which part. It isn't the most common types (porterhouse, t-bone, strip). I think it's top sirloin, cut 1 1/4" thick or so.

Last night was the missus’ signature meal-loaf. Never the same twice, but always good, leftovers tonight!

I should start working on one of those recipes. Meatloaf can be fantastic.

We tried some Kale burgers, and they were great.

red skin mashed potatoes
French cut green beans

homemade mac & cheese and chicken pot pie ... the latter is still in the oven

lunch was 2 killer high gravity chocolate imperial stouts before the movie

breakfast was 4 eggs over easy, a pot of grits, patty sausage and the obligatory gravy. toast instead of biscuits - don't want to ruin my figure, you know

doesn't get much more southern than that

vegetable fried rice
some apple cider vinegar potato chips for dessert

Old fashioned Roast Chicken dinner. Gravy has 2015 Erotica Washington Riesling..... Rolls are stuffed with Murray's Gallego.

Many cocktails accompany.

The sister of my house maid visited her, and she volunteered to cook dinner for us. She worked as a domestic helper in Saudi Arabia and learned how to cook Arabic food. She made us cinnamon roast chicken stuffed with rice and veggies with a tangy mango salad. I also bought a pistachio ice cream cake for dessert. Very good.

Grilled Kabobs ( omaha fliet mignons, chicken breasts, pork loin, salmon )...grilled veggies ( mushrooms,red/green/yellow peppers, onions ) pickled okra... German Chocolate cake and Butter Pecan ice cream for desert...

More breaded backed empire kosher chicken.

And the day before, beef/lamb shepard's pie.

Tonight, possibly one of the pork belly recipes I've been considering. But I'm feeling lazy.
