What could the FBI done had they received a tip on Cruz?

Wrong-check the news.

The Constitution doesn't support the murder of innocent people by mentally ill people

If you have proof to the contrary you should post it.

The Constitution prohibits locking someone up without pronable cause and due process.

Cruz killed 17 people with prior intent. He was taken in front of a judge

That sounds like a good reason to lock him up to me.

If you have evidence to the contrary, let's see it.

Cruz was taken in front of a judge.

The D.A. has the murder wt of weapon and a lot of witnesses . Cruz ran his mouth before he did this-so the D. A. has evidence of intent.Cruz will not walk free-he'll get life in prison or a death sentence.

Wait and see

Just sayin'.

Cruz saw a judge and the judge put him in jail. The D. A. has the murder weapon and a lot of witnesses.Cruz will get life in prison or a death sentence.

Wake up and face reality.

Without due process, it sucks.

It would have saved 17 lives.Maybe 18 if Cruz gets the death penalty which is likely in this case in Florida.Think about that a little.

Why do you support a mentally ill murderer?Fill us in.

I knew someone with the same kind of history as Cruz. Right now they're sitting in a mental institution. That's how I know that he would have been committed. Personal experience informs me on this one.

This is a different case.Cruz has got a lot of breaks,or been denied effective treatment.

It all depends on how you look at it.

Me-I think that he should have spent a long time in a mental hospital. That could have saved 17 lives

I think you two are speaking of two different events. apdst is speaking of prior to the killing, and shrubnose is speaking to after the killing.

In any event, Cruz was in mental health treatment 3 times, and over 30 complaints were filed with the local police by neighbors, friends, family members including his mother before she passed away, and the list goes on. For those who want to blame the FBI, this was a local issue, not as federal one, and thus the local law enforcement, and Courts, should have handled it.

And they would have,If the FBI had passed its tips on.The FBI dropped the ball. And 17 people died.

Hopefully the FBI will do better in the future. There are probably more mass killers out thereI doubt that this was the last one. We're not that lucky.

Except that it certainly could have been WITH due process, so it wouldn't have sucked at all.

Not in a civil case Cruz vs. the cops.

Not to mention, Cruz had already been evaluated by a social worker and determined not to be a threat

Had the cops surveiled him after that evaluation, they would have been treading on thin ice as far as his civil rights were concerned.

Talk to the judge who had that killer locked up.He belongs behind bars.If he's not executed he'll spend his life there.

He does, now. Because he...uh...committed a crime. Prior to 14 February, he had committed no crime.

and it's essential to wait until someone commits a crime before they can get mental health services.

This is just a reflection of the right wing propaganda started by the coward Trump to deflect from his own legal problems. The FBI received three tips, ther local police received over 30, and yet you seem to feel those three tips were of more importance then the over 30. Typical mindless rational.

Did you know the Va. Tech shooter was adjudicated as mentally ill prior to his killing 49 students, and he was still allowed to buy a weapon?

Did you know the Parksdale killer was in mental therapy three times, and he was allowed to buy a gun?

Did you know that the Republicans have opposed every attempt to strengthen background checks since Columbine?
