Sorry, but I prefer to take responsibility for the life I'm living now. Perfection doesn't exist, it never has nor ever will be the goal, but that doesn't mean we can't better ourselves as individuals and as a collective every day.

I know that man is flawed; that he will always make mistakes. That he will always be prone to greed, pride, self indulgence and all the other failings of human beings. At best, we can try to control those things and attempt to not let them dictate our lives and live in a way that is helpful to others. That is the very best we can do.

You say you want to better the collective every day. It sounds like that is a never ending quest, just as I described. As such, you will never be satisfied because you will never reach your goal. There will always be another day and more "bettering" to accomplish. There are some things you cannot change. They just are. Human nature is one of them. Humans are flawed so human governments will be flawed, some more than others.

You also completely fail to understand what believing in God means. It means you live the best you can, not because the state or some politician demands it but because God demands it. If you believe that there is nothing higher than man and man is the state, then there is nothing higher than the state. It is that kind of thinking that gave us Bolsheviks, Nazis and Maoists. Since the state was god, anything done in the name of the state was, consequently, moral and good. What you consider "good" wasn't given you by the state or man. You only know what good is because God has put it in you.
