thank you so much for this list

I am always so overwhelmed w/ all he has done, I forget to mention some things (when telling others.. those who don't follow the news.. and yet vote. OMG)

I can’t tell if this is real or not.

I keep looking around for Ashton Kutcher cuz I feel like we are being Punk’d.

If that were true, then why do we have the 22nd Amendment?

What a ridiculous promotion to suggest Trump, by any reasonably objective measures, belongs in a serious conversation as possibly the best POTUS ever.

Notion dismissed!

Objectively, he belongs in a more select and less prestigious group of Presidents... namely those impeached by the House.

And later charged with various crimes he committed while in office. He's rotten to the core, the most corrupt president we've ever had.

Donald Trump - U.S. Presidency, Family & Businesses - Biography

This is a quote from Trump's biography. Specifically about his father.

Father
Trump’s father, Frederick Trump, was a builder and real estate developer who specialized in constructing and operating middle-income apartments in Queens, Staten Island and Brooklyn.

I have to remind everyone that he was also arrested in NYC in the 1920s at a KKK rally all dressed up in his pillow case. To me that makes Fred Trump a total scumbag. Like father, like son.

Jefferson was the President who did the Louisiana Purchase
True but Monroe put it together.
...and Congress approved it. That's the key point. It's like the Iraq Invasion. GW wanted it, but didn't/couldn't act until Congress approved it. To later blame him for all of it is to not understand Government 101.

oh great... the one who made government HUGE

although Johnson made it even bigger. Notice Johnson is not on list.

I tend to think Trump is the best yet.. lowest unemployment for minorities EvER

economy taking off.. wages rise probably more than ever

ISIS all but gone

head of ISIS DEAD

Right to Try

USMCA (which our low-approval-rate Congress has yet to pass bc it would be another win for Trump.. )

FDR's policies are what created our Great Middle class and the America we all know that made us the envy of the world. The Republicans have spent the last 75 years trying to reverse those policies and have very nearly destroyed our middle class as a result.
The only contest Trump would win is the BIGGEST LIAR. He wins that hands down.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is distorting the truth on U.S. economic growth and jobs, pointing to record-breaking figures that don’t exist and not telling the full story on black unemployment.
He cites the highest-ever gross domestic product for the U.S. that’s not there and predicts a spectacular 5 percent annual growth rate in the current quarter that hardly any economist sees. On black joblessness, he boasts of a “new” record low, but the numbers in fact have recently ticked upward, with greater declines seen during the Obama administration.

AP FACT CHECK: Trump'''s economic fiction: '''record''' GDP, jobs

Sorry, but that's like saying "This is the best car ever!...but we won't let anyone make it anymore or anything like it". WTFO?

Basically, in this case, his presidency was so good that it threatened the stability of the country due to his sheer level of popularity. It was probably best to dial it back.

If you replaced "good" with "powerful", I'd agree with you. As for "popularity", his opponents across the Atlantic were also very popular.

Moderator's Warning:
There are literally dozens and dozens of threads created in the past few days where anyone can attack Trump. This thread isn't for that purpose. Stick to the topic and knock off the stupid off-topic crap.

Reagan is number 1 with Trump still active and coming on strong.

Of those listed, the winner is, of course, General George Washington.

He set the precedent that a president should serve only for two terms.

(Definitely not Abraham Lincoln. He is responsible for a war that unnecessarily, in my opinion, cost the lives of at least 600,000 American boys. The consequences of that war are still with us.)

I agree with the President Washington choice. He dealt with problems in total that no president since has faced. His legacy was to leave only detail to be worked out. And, though he was asked, he refused perpetual rule, thereby setting the precedent that we live with today.

CP

He may not be literally the best president ever, but the president who accomplished the most compared to the amount of recognition he receives is James K. Polk.

President Polk? Okay, I am listening - what did he accomplish for which he isn't credited for in comparison to all others? I respect all Presidents, so I ask genuinely. This could be a teaching moment for you;)

He entered office with four clearly defined goals.

1. Settle the Texas annexation issue
2. Settle the Oregon territory dispute
3. Lower tariffs
4. Reestablish the Independent Treasury System

He accomplished all four goals in one term and retired. He added a third of the area to the United States, Oregon peacefully, guided the country through the Mexican-American War, and established a treasury system that lasted for 70 years.

Quite a challenge! Remarkable the leaders we have been blessed with through our short history. Maybe the electorate is smart after all!
Thank you for the information.

George Washington as leader of the founders but really all the prime founders I’d have to include-
But it was Washington who lead the fight for independence from King George & Britain & afterward was
was the singular person to lead the US successfully in its infancy.

In Britain the most forward thinking country in Europe at that time the three pillars
of conservatism were 1) the monarchy 2) the established church 3) the aristocracy.

In creating the new nation:
In a stroke of enlightened progressive genius they managed
to eliminate the first two pillars but it did seem that the aristocracy
remained although minus the snobby titles.

He accomplished an awful lot. James K Polk is generally considered our greatest one term president.
