U.S. military officers who fought in Syria say they are devastated and ashamed

Like I guessed, all you can do is just post a meaningless image and act as though it has something to say.

Do you even have something intelligent to say, or is that one post the limit of your debating skills?

The biggest geopolitical loser in this deal is Washington. The rapid exit of US forces that left the Kurds exposed was a gift to Putin: Russian journalists roaming newly abandoned US military bases played the moment for all it was worth, casting it a hasty helicopters-on-the-roof moment for American power.

Putin and Erdogan just did a deal on Syria. The US is the biggest loser. - CNN

So apparently desperate to try to make Trumpkin recognize some rational, ANY rational for not ceding completely the strategic ground the Syria represents tried twice to make the Syrian oil fields argument. As always they should up with maps, VISUALS since that is about the only thing that stands a ghost of a chance of breaking through Trumpkin's impenetrable cement head. Their argument being that keeping the Syrian oil fields out of the hands of Russia and Iran was ONE of the worthwhile rationals for staying.

But of course, Trumpkin does not use information to guide Trumpkin decision making (whatever that is!). He uses it for media spin purposes.

What does Trumpkin spin that information into: "we have secured the Syrian oil fields"

Well what is the actual value of that? Iran has close to 100 times the oil reserves of Syria. Syrian oil reserves are so insignificant internationally that they do not even identify production to reserves ratios for Syria. Russia has about 50 times the Syrian oil reserves. Syrian oil is all Heavy/Sour. They have no Light/Sweet.

Everybody long ago acknowledged that if there is more oil in Syria it will have to be discovered as in, THEY DON"T KNOW WHERE IT IS. So what exactly has Trumpkin secured?

One need not be the most logical thinker in the world to recognize that the Pentagon was trying to make ANY argument whatsoever that would keep Trumpkin from pulling up stakes entirely and nothing else including the two most important, not abandoning an ally in the field and the strategic importance of that territory would break though to Trumpkin.

Trumpkin leaps on that like a dog on a bone and claims to have "secured the Syrian oil fields". Ah-huh. Talk about picking up a crumb on the way out the door.

Trump today, moves the goalposts AGAIN. Claimed to this point that ISIS was defeated. Now correctly claiming that the Caliphate was attrited down to zero. Thanks for playing Trumpkin.

U.S. military officers who fought in Syria say they are devastated and ashamed

What tRump did to the Kurds is the singular most chicken**** act by an American president … EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you. This all supports my initial assessment before the lies by another poster started -

1) ~ Trump has betrayed US battlefield allies.

2) ~ Obama never did anything like this decision and betrayed US battlefield allies.

3) ~ the US has backtracked and threatened Erdogan however as you correctly point out - Russia is the big winner here. She has forces patrolling where they couldn't before while Trump's America hauled up a white flag to Turkey and stabbed her battlefield allies in the back.

Oh yea, Trump RUSHING tanks and troops to protect..........the Syrian oil fields. Boy those vast Syrian oil reserves are really something aren't they? Must be in the top 10 countries for oil reserves you would think. NOPE. Top 20? Nope. 31st in the world at a whopping 2% estimated world oil reserves, all of it Heavy/Sour, none of it Light/Sweet.

Who has the largest oil reserves? Venezuela with roughly 150x Syria's reserves. Seems to me if we really cared about oil reserves we should have done a much more competent job of dealing with Venezuela where Putin outmaneuvered Trump AGAIN. Then again Putin outmaneuvering his lap dog Trumpkin is nothing for Putin to celebrate.

[h=2]U.S. military officers who fought in Syria say they are devastated and ashamed by Trump’s decision to abandon Kurdish-led forces.[/h]On Dec. 20, 2018, the day after U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly announced via Twitter that the United States would withdraw all U.S. forces from Syria, a group of U.S. soldiers set out on a routine patrol through Manbij, a Kurdish-held town in northern Syria.

A member of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) approached the American troops, according to a U.S. Army officer on patrol that day, who spoke to Foreign Policy on the condition of anonymity. The man broke down in tears, thanking the U.S. service members for their support.

“He took off his unit patch and gave it to me. It was the most emotional moment I’ve ever experienced,” said the officer, who fought alongside the SDF in the yearslong battle to defeat the Islamic State and is one of many retired and current service members who say they are devastated by Trump’s latest decision to withdraw troops from the border, paving the way for Turkey to launch a major attack on northeastern Syria.

“It is unacceptable to turn our back on them to a tyrant like [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan, who views all Kurds as terrorists,” the retired officer said. “There will be a whole generation of U.S. military that will never forget this betrayal nor stop apologizing for it.”

I wonder if those same officers were devastated or ashamed over Abu Ghraib?

So DonDon telling the Kurds to go to the oil fields, 100's of miles from where they have been living and in Syrian desolation. Sure DonDon....they are going to listen to you. DonDon goes on to claim that WE HAVE THE OIL. Do you now DonDon. You mean YOU now have those tiny little Syrian oil reserves. Now that you have surrendered the field what you have is what Putin lets you have you fool.
