BTW - It was verbally remarked moments ago by a cable pundit, that the President sent John Dowd to meet with either the suspect's defense team or Rudy's legal team. If so, Trump might be trying to establish an attorney-privilege block to keep them from talking.

I'd like to see this last claim (John Dowd) second sourced in print and clarified though, before I claim it as fact.

This really does hit the nail on the head. This is precisely how they convince themselves its okay for them to stoop to these levels because they just assume liberals are doing it to just not getting caught. Nope, Sorry! Liberals aren't getting caught because they're not doing these things.

After reading the Cohen charging document, I find it hard to believe they won't try to charge him. If they didn't, it would seem derelict on their part. The document seems to implore it. Trump directed Cohen, whose doing 3 years, and it's explicitly described in the document.

Once a new administration gets in, a new DOJ AG will be installed, and unless Trump takes a pardon deal a'la Nixon, I think it's highly likely he gets charged in the Daniel's FEC avoidance affair.

Of course if Trump gets re-elected though, he beats the statute of limitations. But then he is liable to NYS prosecution, which I think could be quite possible too. The NYS legislature already paved the way by getting rid of their double-jeopardy law. That shows you where the NYS government's & legislature's heads are at, and where the political-will stands.
 
Starting the impeachment inquiry may have seemed risky, but when it leads to headlines like "Associates of president's personal lawyer arrested as they try to flee the country" you gotta say that prospects look pretty good.

Can't even do a "what about Obama," since there wasn't anything like that in his administration.

Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman were detained at Dulles airport outside of Washington last night. They had recently purchased one-way tickets, according to a law enforcement source.

Which is why there's silence in this thread from Trump supporters, as well as avoidance of the breaking news on Trump's media sources.

I'm pretty surprised at how quickly and strongly the public tide is turning against Trump. 51% for impeachment? I'm blown away, but it is giving me hope for the matter. When Nixon's negatives hit 60%, the floodgates opened and he was gone in a heartbeat. If Trump hits 60% for impeachment, it's going to put the GOP Senate in an unbelievable difficult position. They will be toast in any contested or swing districts, if they don't act. And similarly, they will be toast even if they do act! They got killed, after Nixon left office.

And while I thought it was crazy before, after recently noting Trump's impeachment inquiry get a several points rise among Republican voters themselves, and now seeing today's huge swing to the majority of the country supporting impeachment, it now seems possible we could get to removal - though I have no idea how likely it may be.

Regardless of the prospects of removal though, it is clear to me that impeachment is a done deal. What remains to be seen, is how much more damaging events & facts come out, and how long the process will last. It's possible, given Trump's reticence to co-operate, and with these new events and investigations occurring, that this might extend well into the election year dominating the conversation.
