Try to look at Islam academically.

I'll ask you the same question that everybody else dodges. What did Jesus ever DO to serve as an example for committing atrocities?

Mohamed had hundreds of Jews beheaded and started wars. There's your real world comparison.

That's a difficult comparison to make. Jesus was never a military or political leader. You'd be better off comparing Muhammad to somebody like Julius Caesar or Alexander. He has a lot more in common with people like that than he does with Jesus.

The Christian god killed hundreds of thousands. Probably millions. Read the old testament.

No. Compare jesus to Allah. Both are gods

Your entire argument is based on a fallacy. Have you ever read the Qur'an or studied Islam in any way?

Historically...

The rise of Christianity and Islam from forst century Rome and judea , to Mohammad and Saladin and their military conquests more than the specifics of the korans texts.. specifically.

The Bible just says to do worse or equal crimes as anything any terrorists are doing OR Christian conspiracy theory types are quoting the Koran as saying.... So I don’t really need to know it by heart..

I am betting I have seen every super disgusting text in the Koran specifically from memes and articles published by christians..

I mean the reason there is a “Southern Baptist” , Southern Episcopal, Southern Methodist Church is because they split over each side claiming the Bible did or did not vouch for slavery??!?!

MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!

Western Civilization, White People or hell, maybe all of humanity I’m just most familiar with white American culture, have the craziest little dynamic...

They agree and understand inherently and intimately that it is ridiculous to blame them (whites/christians) for the actions of other ( white/Christian) people they have never even met, but when referring to other groups, all the sudden they think it makes perfect sense...

The thought that the Bible should be blamed for the actions of a small minority of Christians doing dumb stuff , is just ridiculous, but apparently the Koran should definitely be blamed for the actions of the minority of Muslims...

I personally am cool with blaming both, because I am consistent lol. But that is separately and when it comes to the people end of things. I think it is ridiculous to blame all for the actions of some..

A billion muslims did not hurt anyone today

A)

Murdered everyone but Noah’s family... then the Canaanites... And Everything the OT god did because Jesus and god are one entity..

There is not a god and seperately his son.. Jesus is god in the flesh.. atleast according to the theology of mainstream Catholicism and prodestants..

Can you give Jesus the credit for gods creations, but not the blame for his atrocities?!?!?

B) assuming you are saying Jesus and god are independent beings.....

Jesus has not stopped the mountain of slaughter in his name..

If I am god, so I have the ability to step in and people are raping and murdering in my name, I think it is kinda my responsibility to say something..

If a political organization gets violent the leader will usually admonish his violent supporters to stop the violence...

If Jesus did that secretly it took him 1900 years lol..

B2) The religion is a religion worshipping god...

So by being a Christian , you are inherently validating the actions of the father as well as the son...

I have seen no christians admonishing god while supporting Jesus...

He has a good point..

Jesus is god..

There are not 2 separate beings in Christianity..

So it is not a 1 to 1 comparison either direction..

If we are just judging the man part...

How is it American conservatives are backing the poor healer , who flipped over the money tables , spurned violence and weaponry and railed against the rich instead of boot strap the military leader?!?

Lol

That's my whole point. Jesus (after whom the religion is supposed to be patterned) was a man of peace.

Mohamed, who created Islam, was a man of war, hate, and subjugation.

Do you know who allah is? Lol

Muslim believe the OT every bit as much as Jews and Christians, so everything you say about the latter two applies equally to Muslims. Facts suck, don't they?

Mohammed was a man. You are comparing a man to a god

A man who (according to Islamic belief) was literally channeling God.

But the god half of Jesus was an egotistical bully who committed uncountable atrocities for the pettiest of reasons...

If Christianity separated god and Jesus , then you would have a point.. but since it claims Jesus and god are the same entity, Then Jesus would carry the blame of his actions as well.

He (according to Christian belief) said, "Forgive them father.....". He was NOT talking to himself.

Wow.....it sounds like both books promote horrible atrocity.

Dude....thanks for that

The salient difference being that the Qur'an added many more explicit calls to "fight fee sabil allah", but the NT didn't. So, again you miss the mark.

How many times do you have to talk about killing unbelievers before it gets bad?

Dude...stop....I am laughing

So what? Was he any more hateful or warlike than Julius Caesar, or Alexander, or any other conquering warlord? One does not conquer an empire without committing an atrocity or two. I'd say that Muhammad compares quite favorably to other historical leaders in terms of his military and political acumen.

Nope. What's your point?

Did they start a warrior religion? Mohamed did. The don't-blame-Islam club has clearly dug their heels in to the extent of scraping the bottom of the barrel for 'arguments'. Why can't you just let this stupid comparison go and simply look at Islam for what it teaches and how it affects today's world?

Absolutely. And by doing so in the name of AND ACCORDING TO THE DICTATES of the religion he invented, gives up any right to claim his is a religion of peace. The logic is unassailable if you were to look at it honestly and forget this ridiculous both-feet descent into whataboutism.

Christ started a warrior religion. Millions picked up weapons and killed in his name for centuries.

Are you kidding?

Anyway, I've answered all the whataboutist nonsense that I'm going to in this thread. If anyone wants to explore the connection between Islam and Islamic terrorism, you know where to find me (on the golf course in a couple of hours).

Your interpretation of Islam is stupid and bigoted, and only terrorists agree with you.

Obviously Islam is not a religion of peace. I never claimed that it was. But so what? Is it any surprise that a conquering warlord would start a militaristic faith? What's the problem?
