Trump's ever-changing Corona virus narrative

You have to just roll your eyes at the anti-Trumpers constant search for the next attack, like a caged rat scrabbling for weaknesses in the bars.
I'm done with them in a way I didn't think was possible for me.
New York City is the epicenter in the US because just a few weeks ago de Blasio was urging New Yorkers to go out more, be with other people more, even suggesting his favorite shows that they should attend.... but New York is Trump's fault.
Really? I thought I was first....when did you start?
This was mine:
Is this BUG out of China going to get you?
The greatest number of deaths are in states totally controlled by the Democratic Party. One would almost think they want as many people to die as possible so they can then blame Trump. What reason do you have why Democratic governors want people in their states to die?
And yet the Democratic Party still demands we open our borders and allow every infected person in the world to come here for free medical care.

Excuses update:

"Everyone was wrong so who cares about how wrong he was!?" - 1
"The impeachment hoax distracted him." - 1
"Immigrants did this." - 1
"America's biggest cities were hit worst and they're liberals, so it's actually the Democrat's fault." - 2
"I was the first to sound the alarm, the Democrats were the ones saying it was a hoax!" - 1

Hilariously none of these address the fact that all of these people spent months pretending this was no worse than the flu and that this was all an overreaction as part of a conspiracy to get Trump. I guess I'm glad you're at least finally admitting this is a serious threat.

Since January there has been a systematic campaign by Trump and his supporters to dismiss this virus as no big deal and "just another flu" and anyone who says otherwise, be it scientists, journalists or otherwise, are accused of being part of a liberal conspiracy to ruin America's economy. As most of you know, yesterday Trump extended the quarantine all the way through April, and even admitted that if nothing was done, the number of deaths could far exceed 2 million. It's good news that he changed his mind from stubbornly insisting we will reopen the country by Easter, no matter what, but let's take a look at a few of the things scientists and journalists were mocked for that Trump has now come around on:

1) This isn't just a flu, it's much more dangerous and this is a very serious pandemic.
2) The quarantine was completely justified and is the only viable solution.
3) Easter was way, way too early to arbitrarily lift the quarantine.
4) Literally millions of Americans could die if this is mishandled.

These are all things that Trump and his supporters argued were lies and hoaxes spread by scientists, journalists and Democrats. Now Trump has pulled a complete 180 and adopted all 4 positions and his supporters will now undoubtedly follow while pretending they never disagreed with any of it. Why the hell do you pieces of **** have to make EVERYTHING partisan? Why do you attack experts one day then reverse your position the next as soon as Trump acknowledges it, then don't have the balls to admit you were wrong? Can you not put aside your hate for America for one day so we can work together? No, Trump did not cause the virus and nobody has accused him of doing that, but how he handles this crisis will determine how many Americans die, and he will be graded on that in comparison to other nations.

Now, time for Trump supporters to tell us they never opposed facts 1-4 and that suggesting so is an evil liberal lie.

So you're going to ignore all the stories back then that criticized (putting it nicely) Trump for close travel from China and then Europe. You're mad because you're stuck over there or what?

This issue here is you, not me. While I can talk about the federal response and state responses, and how the US response measures against South Korea and the EU, you seem to be incapable of anything that isn't rabidly anti-Trump. You have blinders, not me.

"The impeachment hoax distracted him." - 1

Oh no, it totally helped the administration focus.

"Immigrants did this." - 1

So tell me, how did COVID-19 appear in the US if not over the border?

When the death toll exceeds 60,000 it will be worse than the flu. It is currently at 2,490.

"I was the first to sound the alarm, the Democrats were the ones saying it was a hoax!" - 1

Which one of the quotes did you read this way?

But hey, thank you for the peak inside your intensely biased ability to misread pretty much everything. It really helps everyone tune you out in the future.

So you're going to ignore all the stories back then that criticized (putting it nicely) Trump for close travel from China and then Europe. You're mad because you're stuck over there or what?

The thing that I think scares them the most is that it won't end up as bad as their hyperbole needs it to be.

That isn't to say it can't get bad. A quick look at the EU statistics show how bad it could be here.. but it isn't that bad here, and that frustrates the rabid anti-Trumpers.

Trump's new idea is to spin 100,000 virus deaths into a campaign theme.

Well, no, it is to spin the screaming, rabid anti-Trumper claims of 2+million deaths as what it is/was... insane fear mongering. No sane person could trust the idiots who believe that nonsense.

You're making crap up, like Trump. What isn't made up is his promise that 15 deaths would soon lead to zero deaths and another "good job".

And yet, while Dems and Trump haters were obsessed with their malicious, unsupported impeachment attacks on Trump, he was already taking steps to reduce the danger to American citizens from the coronavirus.

Another day...another attack.

yawn...

(sorry Trump haters...he'll STILL be President next year)

If the Senate had done it's job, someone less corrupt and less incompetent would probably be in charge now.

Trump only closed China for Chinese, not for others coming from China. It was too little too late.

Trump is a poor leader, and this Covid incident has demonstrated that in spades. He and his fan base are thin-skinned, unable to withstand any criticism, almost like spoiled children.

That said, there is counterpoint perspective in this case. The media IS overplaying this.

And, of course, in true useless and wholly political fashion, you focus on cherry picking.

Would you say his hopeful statement is worse than those claiming 2+ million people in the US will die?

Do you think those using the virus as a platform for their socialized medicine nonsense should consider how the virus is ravaging the EU?

This is more complicated an issue than your cherry picking can encompass. You are trying to argue in bumper stickers.

This is the quote of the week.....so so true.

Actually, it’s worse than that.

Trumpsters hang on their fool’s gold fuhrer’s words. They will defend them and argue them. And the more obviously false they are, the louder the yelling, whataboutism and deflections.

Trump had to stand there and hear Fauci say that 200,000 people may die.

Then he turned right around and pretended nobody ever told him that before. As he said it, it was obvious that he was trying on a new line for size.

He loves inversions. He loves to say he’s doing the exact opposite of what he’s actually doing, and daring anyone to point out the obvious.

So, no, after weeks of whistling past the graveyard, Trump’s new rationalization is that far more people would be sick if had done nothing.

When he had spent the last few weeks arguing for doing nothing, (or the minimum), while attacking and blackmailing anyone who asked for more.

And the talk radio right wing will all sing this lie in chorus.

Everyone in this story from the beginning has done 180 flip flops, often many, to include the Chinese......everyone has a different story after they experience this bug......the bug scares the crap out Humans.
Let's stop with the "All About Trump" BS.

We tried to but you kept him in office. He’s our President...if he can’t be held to a high standard in a crisis, then the con man needs to leave. He’s the real victim here right?

But did the American president not say in a day or so, like a miracle, the virus will be gone? I'm sure I saw him say that on TV. They say he is the best president in history.

Gee, you made my point even before I typed it!!!!

Yup, The Trumpster fan base is singing right along to their fool’s gold fuhrer’s latest self serving rationalization.

Trump, the do nothing, is now a Trumpster hero, for being dragged into doing the minimum. That is how Trump rolls.

Now that Trump has cut back on whistling past the graveyard, his no nothing comic book fan base are now pretending that their political god was on it all along!
