Actually, divide and conquer is a leftist strategy. Identity Politics. Leftists routinely attempt to divide the nation along race, gender, age, income is a big one with leftists right now.

Trump disavowed the send-her-back chants after starting the whole thing and doubling down on it for days? Has he apologized yet for telling patriotic, duly-elected legislators that they should leave the country because they haven't earned the right to criticize his abominable policies? Excuse me for being unimpressed that he blinked when he started seeing how many rightwingers were shocked that he went that far. Like when even Franklin Graham came out against his family separation policy the he was banking on so hard. He won't know what to do now. But he'll fume and find some way to defend his outrageousness and bring it back into his repertoire in spite of today's waffle. He's still trying to figure out how to get around the family separation setback -- people have lost their jobs for telling him that, no, he can't bring it back.

How am I saying it's not a winning strategy for him to attack patriotic, duly-elected legislators who are doing their best to stop what he's doing? I'm saying that HE thinks it's a winning strategy. And he might be right. He definitely needs something to distract from his epic cluster**** of an administration, and he is loving the reaction he's getting for his outrageous attacks on these four women. He's having to walk it back a little because GOP legislators are publicly condemning him, but he's still smirking about it, and it's going to be a staple in his tweets and rallies.

Yes, you have a point.

He doesn't consciously want people to actually take up weapons. If he thought that it would be mostly leftwingers who would be wielding those weapons, it might be a different story -- he would love calling the National Guard out to put them down. But he knows that his side is better armed and generally more enthusiastic about waving their guns around, so he won't consciously want to push that too hard.

But he wants the fervor of civil war, as close to the emotion-driven, irrational brink of violence as he can get without going over the edge. He knows his failures have dampened enthusiasm among his voters in the blue collar states which gave him his improbable electoral college win. So he is using all the rabble-rousing tricks in his repertoire to try to fire up jingoistic fervor to shore up his base.

LOL ... ALL Americans? Tell that to the "sons-of-bitches" and their mothers that he used as political props to try to save the Alabama special senate election.

He certainly doesn't include all Americans in his speech in a positive way.

He lies about certain people not loving the country and has spent the last week telling those figments of his imaginative rhetoric to leave the country.


He started his political career lying about Obama. He ran his political campaign on the idea that America has lost its greatness. He has given up on the idea of behaving presidentially so that he could broaden his base and increase his job approval to over 50% (the way any decent human being would be able to do with economic numbers like we now have). And he is banking all he has on firing up enthusiasm among the people like you who hate those you accuse of having socialist goals for YOUR country. He's hoping there are enough people like you creaming their jeans over his hate speech to drag him across the electoral finish line again in 2020.

The heart of conservatism is if you don't agree with conservatism you are an enemy of the people and need to back to where you came from if you're non-White.

Exactly. It's working for him. I don't expect him to change. I don't know if he's able to change. His choice not to cultivate discipline lead him to his life of chaos and opportunism and ... it has worked for him. It's damaging the country, but it works for him.



These words from Rep. Peter Welch are an apt description of what Trump as been doing, will continue to do.

Pillars and guardrails ... that's imagery I have tried to convey in words. Welch nailed it. And Trump will continue attacking them, because he doesn't have the skill set to do anything else. And this destructive skill set which he does have put him in the White House, so of course he sees no need to change.

Scott Walker was caught on film explaining that exact policy to his favourite billionaire donner.

Who later gave him unlimited use of her private jet, (How is that a campaign finance offense?) during his short lived presidential run.

Because while he may get a tingling feeling In his nether regions when he appears at the tiny stadiums and gets tens of people excited, there are millions of people that seeing it and listening to what he is saying.

He may be exciting a handful but he is motivating . millions.

Iff he thinks Hillary kicked his ass in total votes, wait till he sees, just how .much of America be has alienated...
