Trump loses at Supreme Court - NY DA will receive Trump financial records.

And in these 2 cases the state of New York is doing an investigation and needs that information. And they House is doing oversight and needs that information.

Why are you so against those entities doing their jobs? If you were under investigation would they have the right to see your tax return?

Or is this just you trying to protect your political girlfriend?

NY is accusing him of campaign issues. Trump can easily argue that his personal finances are out of bounds for anything not pertaining to the campaign.
that NY doesn't need his tax returns or anything else just his campaign records.

The house is just out of luck they get nothing at this point in time.

The constitution prevents fishing expeditions. That there is this little thing called probable cause that the government has to meet in order to request something.
the House has other issues. The house is a legistlative body not a law enforcement one. They have to have justified valid legislative purpose to get private records
this is according to the law and past SCOTUS rulings. Them just wanting the records is not good enough.

IF they are wanting to check the process for the presidents tax return vetting then they can just call the people in that do that process.
They do not need to see his actual returns.

why was a guy who was first in his class at Harvard Law and then a supreme court clerk and then a beloved law professor for 40 years be an "asshole" for noting that Biden was a dolt as a student. That is a matter of factual record. Does it upset you that you lefties are supporting a man who has never shown any intellectual firepower?

I doubt any historian-no matter how leftwing-would even pretend Trump is the most incompetent president. Of course, you appear to be quite ignorant of history and full of hatred. I ask you-what harm has Trump caused you? are your taxes higher? has he issued an EO or signed into law, a statute that interferes with your business, your personal life or lifestyle choices? Has one of his judges entered a ruling that so interferes with your lifestyle or trade?

That will be up for debate.

Incompetence is different from corruption and both are different from worst.

Everyone knows Buchanan still takes the cake for worst, and we will still be talking about the corruption of Grant and Hardings' administrations, the widespread corruption of the Gilded Age, Tammany Hall and boss politics, and so on. This administration will be discussed for corruption, but it will have a lot more companion pieces.

But sheer lack of familiarity with government at any level--Trump may be close to the forefront of that discussion.

Now, I've long been critical of the scholar ranking surveys, but it is worth noting that two years ago Trump was added to the list and was roughly scored as the worst or shortly behind the worst. That would be close to my assessment. However, these rankings leave no room for nuance and are fairly arbitrary for the middle ground. I mean, beyond getting a consensus on your top 10 or worst 10, what really helps with gradients of who was marginally or meaningfully better than who in the average range? But these surveys have also made it harder to take it seriously when George W. Bush was ranked near the bottom for a brief period of time. Then on top of that, no one really spends their time ranking most of these guys. That's not really our thing. It's basically a parlor game.

LOL! Trump’s sister had to do his homework for him and he payed someone to take his SAT exams for him. Trump is a moron and more than one person who has worked in his administration has called him a moron. Trump is wholly unfit to be President.

If he's someone you admire, it doesn't matter how smart he is/was, he is be definition a rightwing asshole. Biden may not be a genius but he never paid some guy to take his SATs (and who knows how many he paid to write his college papers for him). Biden got busted cheating in law school. He was able to retake the class-saving himself from graduating LAST. Many states won't let you take the bar exam if you get busted for cheating in law school. Biden took the bar at least twice. Looks like Biden is the ONLY proven case of cheating in this race

leaking stuff from the Grand Jury is a serious matter. I suspect Trump would love to have grounds to sic his federal prosecutors on the NY state prosecutor
 
He can’t be pardoned for state level crimes unless it’s by the governor, which isn’t happening.


I’m still somewhat torn about prosecuting him. I have a really bad feeling this is going to hit the fan if that happens. It’s a lose lose situation
