Some on the right, those trying - though failing - to defend Trump evidently are unable to accept that a thinking human may care about a nation (Israel) while at the same time that rational person may disagree with the leadership of the nation and its actions.

I don't know if binary thinking - my way or the hiway - is required for membership in the GOP but there are days and commentary when it does seem so. If one disagrees with a single tenet of the faith - conservatism - or with the words of the Great Leader then obviously you aren't a real conservative, or so it seems to those on the outside.
