Trump displays altered weather map showing Dorian could have hit Alabama

So despite the fact that almost every time Trump opens is fat orange mouth he says something ridiculous, we're supposed to entertain the notion that in reality he is normal and the nefarious media propaganda machine has convinced us otherwise.

Come on, there is really not much to it. We all know what we see and hear: Trump is a moron. A dishonest one. There's no way to gaslight that away with lofty political theory about "propagandists". Trump's ass-hattery is much more down to earth.

Like what? Be specific please.

Why are you especially interested in not warning people they are currently in the path of a hurricane anyway?

I have been specific enough: Trump lied and doubled down. He has done so on many occasions - especially when it comes to inflating facts and figures. From "I'm hearing...people are saying..." to "3 million illegals voted" to his crowd sizes at the inauguration to arbitrarily altering weather maps. Alabama was not in the path of the hurricane. Trump would not admit he made a simple mistake: as per the article I posted and his SOP instead he doubled down, repeated the lie and blamed everyone else for disagreeing with him.

Furthermore, it was a tiny, tiny mistake at first: the verbal equivalent of a typo. He could have said oops, I meant, Georgia and dropped it. But instead he insisted, fabricated data then threatened NOAA people who disagreed. That's just the sort of behavior that makes him dangerous. And nobody is getting 'pwned' or twiggered' for pointing that out except Twump and his die-hard supporters who just cannot admit he was wrong.

Nah, we're just enjoying watching all you guys pull random nonsense from various places instead of admitting Dear Leader can be wrong. It's entertainment at this point. We all know Trump is a serial liar, and a narcissist, and none of his supporters care so long as he owns the libs. This is just the latest kind of hilarious example.

You're defending this kind of thing as legitimate. He could today send out a Tweet warning Alabama about the coming hurricane, use this map, and the defenders say - what's wrong with that? :lamo

Hear, Hear.

A hurricane is a huge weather event in people's lives and in the response of the people, the governments, the society.

The menacing event draws a very high profile national attention, concern, involvement.

A hurricane involves death, personal injury, great physical damage to infrastructure, people's homes, workplaces and so on.

So when the Potus commits to it that too is big and it is big news.

This president, Donald J. Trump, has blown it however with his high winds of lies and his cloudburst hail of babble and drivel.

Trump himself has created a storm and it is a storm of unprecedented proportions by a Potus. Trump the blistering idiot moron has made himself a Category 5 storm and a Category 5 President. A storm of lies and denials. The rescue team that's gone out to try to save Trump are the muscle brained Putin-Trump Rowers in their boats. Yet the Rowers can accomplish nothing because this fiasco has gone completely beyond 'em and out of their control. They are helpless on a rooftop. I say leave 'em there.

The whole thing with Trump and his Category 5 Hurricane Presidency is a colossal failure, disaster, catastrophe. Why? Because Trump lies through his teeth all day every day. And His Fanboy Rowers haul his boat of lies with Trump at the head as the opposite of George Washington making his crossing many years ago. The only thing that remains for Trump and his wrecking crew is to be gone. For Cornwallis it was Yorktown, for GW it was Katrina and for Trump and the Putin-Trump Rowers it is the portrait of Dorian. An aptly named hurricane indeed.

I got fired from a job once for supporting the republican in a governors race. At least the democrat moron lost the election, but I was still out of a job. No problem, however, because the Lord continued to take care of me in spite of everything the devil's crowd could throw at me.

It was wrong if you were fired for your politics, but what has that got to do with condemning people for things they haven't done, which is what you want Democrats to do?

You seem to have cut to the heart of the issue right there.

Glad you did not get hit by a hurricane recently.

Got some winds and got some rain, nothing more.

Didn't even have to bring my dogs inside.

He's not counter-punching. He's a bully. Somebody will level a legitimate and informed criticism about something he has done or said, or contradict him in some way, and he will go ape-**** on them because he is a whiny baby with a thin skin.

One great example is the fact he threatened to fire people at NOAA for contradicting his lie by telling the American public the truth. That isn't counter-punching. That's a bully trying to cover up his lie. This is what thuggish dictators do, okay?

Yes.. being called a white-supremacist, a fascist, or even a Nazi. Isn't something that even remotely requires counter punching...

Also, can you cite this "threatened to fire people at NOAA" claim?

He represents all of us, actually. He's not President of the Trump Cult, or the Republican party, but of the United States. And those of us not in the cult aren't laughing along with him. In our view he shames the country with his behavior.

Once again, calling it a cult only serves to show just how desperate and little of a person you are. Not the other way around.

Dont forget about the thousand of Muslims celebrating 9/11over the river in NJ. I swear the man pulls BS out of fat arse on a daily basis.

Strange, this is another one of those accounts that got backed up by police officers. Yet everyone just imagined it never happened.

Then again, I remember him using the words "heavy Arab presence" so some information must being getting lost in translation as always.

Wake me when the stupidity from both sides stops...

His untruths, and just plain lack of integrity is what is causing the low poll numbers. The 2020 election will not be about the economy, but on Trumps lack of integrity
and fitness for the job. His Adorables may swallow the lies with out a chaser, but the Indies our another matter, and they decide elections, his supporters may want remember that fact. Not all of us have lowered our leadership standards to find the mans BS an acceptable leadership quality.

Prove it. Show us the evidence.

I am astounding you still think Trump is honest. I am astounding you engage in perpetuating his lies.

What is wrong with you? Why do you accept everything Trump says as the gospel truth? Certainly, at this point, it would be clear to you he is a habitual liar? Do you just not care about the truth, or do you just hate your political opponents more than you love the truth?

Do you not care about the truth?

This is the evidence proving you and your Dear Leader are wrong:

washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2015/11/22/donald-trumps-outrageous-claim-that-thousands-of-new-jersey-muslims-celebrated-the-911-attacks/

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: You raised some eyebrows yesterday with comments you made at your latest rally. I want to show them, relating to 9/11.

VIDEO CLIP OF DONALD TRUMP, IN WHICH HE SAYS: “Hey, I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down. And I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering.”

STEPHANOPOULOS: “You know, the police say that didn’t happen and all those rumors have been on the Internet for some time. So did you misspeak yesterday?”

TRUMP: “It did happen. I saw it.”

STEPHANOPOULOS: “You saw that…”

TRUMP: It was on television. I saw it.

STEPHANOPOULOS: “…with your own eyes?”

TRUMP: “George, it did happen.”

STEPHANOPOULOS: “Police say it didn’t happen.”

TRUMP: “There were people that were cheering on the other side of New Jersey, where you have large Arab populations. They were cheering as the World Trade Center came down. I know it might be not politically correct for you to talk about it, but there were people cheering as that building came down — as those buildings came down. And that tells you something. It was well covered at the time, George. Now, I know they don’t like to talk about it, but it was well covered at the time. There were people over in New Jersey that were watching it, a heavy Arab population, that were cheering as the buildings came down. Not good.”

STEPHANOPOULOS: “As I said, the police have said it didn’t happen.”

1. There are no examples of what Trump referred to, either media reports, or video footage. There is one example of an article from that time period stating that, "FBI probes in northern New Jersey after the attacks, saying in the 15th paragraph that “law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river.”

The article linked to above states further:

Of course, “a number of people” obviously does not equal “thousands” — and “allegedly” indicates there is no video footage or other proof that celebrations actually took place. Recall that Trump claimed he saw this on television — and that it was “well covered at the time.” This newspaper article appeared days later.

The reporters who wrote the story do not recall whether the allegations were ever confirmed. “I certainly do not remember anyone saying that thousands or even hundreds of people were celebrating,” said Serge Kovaleski, one of the reporters. “That was not the case, as best as I can remember.”

Fredrick Kunkle, the other reporter, added: “I specifically visited the Jersey City building and neighborhood where the celebrations were purported to have happened. But I could never verify that report.”

(The right-leaning Powerline blog made a big deal about this sentence–as did Trump later–but as the reporters’ comments make clear, there is no evidence the alleged celebration ever took place.)

The article goes on:

Further Update: We heard from many readers who are convinced they saw this on television but from their description they are referring to reports (linked above) of Palestinians celebrating on the Israeli-occupied West Bank. Here is the video again:

The article goes on:

But Walter Zalisko, a former police officer in Jersey City, contacted The Fact Checker to say Farmer was wrong. He says he heard on the radio dispatch at the time that officers had found Middle Easterners “clapping and laughing” on a number of rooftops, even in one case knocking down a cardboard version of the Twin Towers. But he does not think a police report was filed. “It was at most a hundred people doing this,” he said, saying Trump’s description of “thousands and thousands” was an exaggeration. As for Farmer’s account, Zalisko said: “John was holed up in his office and he didn’t know what was going on.” But Zalisko did not personally witness any of this.

Farmer expanded on his version of events–a firm nothing happened–in an opinion article for the Newark Star-Ledger.

Update, Dec. 2: The Trump campaign posted snippets of video clips from a local CBS New York City newscast at the time that reported on the arrest of “eight men”–not “thousands and thousands”– who were reported by neighbors as having celebrated the attack. One snippet mentions they had a model of the Twin Towers, as Zalisko had recalled. But while the newscast quotes an investigator as allegedly saying these men knew about the attack in advance, it is unclear if any charges were ever brought–or if the claims of celebrations were ever proven. As Farmer said, investigators looked into many such reports–and found them to be groundless. So this appears to be yet another unconfirmed report.

More:

CBS News reported that “the full television news report never showed any footage of New Jersey residents celebrating on the roof. And Guzmán said only that a source reported ‘cheering’ and that police were called to a building in Jersey City to find ‘eight men celebrating’ — far fewer than the thousands Trump claimed to see.”

Update, Dec. 4: ABC News reported that an extensive search of its video archives found no evidence for Trump’s claim. “An extensive search of ABC News transcript and video archives shows that no footage of celebrations in New Jersey aired on ABC News on Sept. 11 or on the following day’s special report coverage of the attacks,” ABC News said. “Instead, there are repeated mentions on ABC News of celebrations on Sept. 11 among a group of Palestinians in East Jerusalem, 5,700 miles away from New Jersey.”

Update: Dec. 21: The Newark Star-Ledger conducted an exhaustive inquiry and while it found scattered reports of celebrations, it determined that “Trump’s broad assertion that thousands of people cheered to be baseless.”

We can safely conclude:

1. He was completely wrong with regard to the idea that thousands of Muslims in New Jersey, were celebrating. There are a handful of unproven allegations of a handful of Muslims celebrating the attack, but nothing more than these handful of unproven allegations involving a handful of people.

2. He simply made it up, lied, about the idea that he watched thousands of Muslims celebrating in New Jersey. He just flat-out made it up. He lied. How do we know this? No such video exists.

I am not in favor of Trump being impeached for winning the 2016 election in spite of democrat efforts to frame him for crimes he did not commit.

Yes.. being called a white-supremacist, a fascist, or even a Nazi. Isn't something that even remotely requires counter punching...

Trump should be criticized for doing fascist-like things. Trump should be criticized for giving political space to Neo-Nazi organizations instead of immediately, forcefully, and routinely repudiating them.

Trump's administration should be criticized for doing things like this:

Justice Department says it mistakenly emailed link to white nationalist website

"The Justice Department on Thursday said an email sent to immigration court employees this week should not have included a link to a white nationalist website."

When Trump tells U.S. citizens, representatives in Congres, to go back to their home countries he is acting JUST LIKE a white supremacist, a fascist, and a NAZI.

If you don't want to be investigated for trying to coordinate with Russian intelligence operatives then don't try to coordinate with Russian intelligence operatives.

It's not complicated.

How supporting a crook and a liar helps with bringing Jesus back makes absolutely no sense to me.

Putin said he liked Trump for working to bring relations back to normal. I like Trump for that also. What Putin did not say is that he hates Trump for opening up American oil drilling, driving gas prices down and hurting the Russian economy, among other things Putin does not like about Trump.

Normal is the 20th century during which the nuclear Russian Soviet Union told the USA of their communism, "We will bury you." It took almost all of the 20th century for the USA to dispose of the dead weight Russian Soviet Union. All the same it left a gift for us however, the KGB guy Polonium Putin. And now we have the Putin-Trump Rowers. Your backs aren't strong enough however,

No, at the most it shows that he really likes trolling the hell out of the lot of you, and that maybe it shouldn't be so easy for one person to get under such a collective skin.

It also doesn't matter what you "think" he reneged, or even failed on. Because no president has ever been able to do everything that they wanted to do, or even promised to. So choosing to be so upset about something, especially when it's obvious that those on your side are so wiling to keep him from keeping such promises, is rather dishonest. I didn't like the republicans being such dicks with most of Obama's choices, and so I never held all of that against him. This is just another instance of it being disliked, simply because he's not your guy.

Also, I don't care for the nastiness, or what you believe to be nastiness. Seeing as he's been doing almost nothing but counter punching through most of his presidency. Which doesn't stop those who keep attacking him, from hurting themselves in the long run.

So yes, given what's been brought to bear. This is all that you have on Trump.

Trump is not going to Make America Russia Instead. No way that would be allowed, permitted, accepted. It will be rejected outright and 100% by one Constitutional means and process or another.

Seeing as he didn't actually lie, this shtick is getting old.

All of you guys over there are breaking your backs rowing for nothing.

Yeah.. allegations, through unknown sources....

This sure sounds trustworthy.

Strange, the only one I still see pushing lies at this point, are posters like you.

This is the same kind of idiocy that keeps getting you dismissed.

You keep following me around trying to tell me I'm dismissed.

Several times now. I can't even go to the men's room any more. Even when the sign says "Don't Walk" you dash across anyway.

It's not helping that new limp in your posts either which is no surprise of course. And since you know my aftershave so well you should buy me some. It's up to you of course. I don't really care.

So when you post to someone you should expect a reply. While no poster has an obligation much less duty to reply, we do reply as the norm. You do the same of course. If you don't like some replies then you might consider ignoring this poster or that poster. It saves the embarrassment of constantly following someone around trying to tell him he's dismissed. Saves the futility of it too btw. Not to mention the absurdity.

Trump caught my attention about Alabama and Dorian but for naught as it turned out cause we found out Trump was lying. And doubling down on it besides. In either event I'm glad to hear you're safe. Do try to take care of that new limp though that came on with the thread. I wouldn't want to see you slowed down by that limp during a real storm to include facts and truth.

With respect to the DOJ sending out e-mails containing links to white nationalist websites, this is something that actually happened, and for which there are hundreds of copies of the same e-mail.

With respect to the article about Mulvaney and the NOAA the original article cited 3 sources.

This reporting was later followed up with additional confirmation to other news outlets:

Mick Mulvaney instructed Wilbur Ross to pressure NOAA to disavow Alabama tweet: New York Times - CNNPolitics

Also, the NOAA Chief Scientist has now launched an internal investigation into whether NOAA's actions in support of Trump's false claims

NOAA Chief Scientist Says Move To Contradict Agency And Back Trump Was 'Political' : NPR

I think it's safe to say we can put this in the category of "probably happened", rather than "fake news".

But, if you want to continue believing the word of someone who has no qualms about lying to your face, as is the case with this weather forecast map, and is on record for lying or exaggerating more than 10,000 times since he took office, have at it.

I think it's reasonable to insist that the leader of our country refrain from lying as much as practically possible.

I know why you and other Trump supporters tolerate it. You care more about achieving your policy goals, rather than the truth or objective reality. And you're willing to achieve these policy goals through any means necessary.

This is one of the reasons why Trump will lose in the next election.

Sort of. One does not unnecessarily call attention to the body odor of any hero that pulls the rapist or mugger off of you in a dark alley. We will see.

It really helps that you do not have a viable case for your assertions.

At least in a constitutional country.

Even if we assume things like illegal immigration represent some sort of terrible or existential threat to the U.S., in the case of Trump's actions, as it relates to all the crooked, illegal, and unconstitutional things he's been doing this isn't a situation where he just has bad body odor. Trump's actions are similar to firing a machine gun at both the perpetrator and the victim to get rid of the perpetrator.

It really helps that you do not have a viable case for your assertions. At least in a constitutional country.

Trump has demonstrated a consistent pattern of behavior indicating he has no regard for the Rule of Law or the Constitution.

His unwillingness to tell the truth, as it relates to his activities as President, is one aspect of this pattern.
