Trump digs in on racist tweets: ‘Many people agree with me’

Yeah I meant New Zealand.

The Māori. I can't tell them to go back to their own country because they are the ones that settled New Zealand.

They are from nowhere else. I was told to leave, as an American, by a Kiwi... that analogy works just fine.

I answered this a few times... because he probably does not care OR because he is not defending that aspect of his tweets... but since you are one that does not like to show the actual tweet/quote that you are referring to, it gets a bit difficult to be accurate.

No you didn't answer. You throw the term "Red Herring" around as if it means something. And I don't like to show the actual tweets? His tweets have been posted here multiple times. I started a thread with his tweets.

You were a citizen of New Zealand?

You were a citizen of New Zealand?

He had no idea of my legal or illegal status... how is that relevant?

It does mean something to a person that understands logic.

If you would pay attention, those three Congresswomen are American born. And Omar is a naturalized citizen of America. Again, telling them to go back to their countries makes no sense.

It does mean something to a person that understands logic.

I understand logic just fine. And yes it mean something to me.

Explaining it is not declaring it. Do you really think Trump didn't know that his tweets would be considered racist? Or is he too dumb to realize that?

You're right, it's not. Too bad you've only done the latter and seem incapable of the former.

This should be a moment of truth for anyone who describes Trump as a “populist” or asserts that his support is based on “economic anxiety.” He’s not a populist, he’s a white supremacist. His support rests not on economic anxiety, but on racism and he believes saying what he said would energize his base. If you don’t think it’s racist, Trump never said anything like that about someone who is the most critical -- Bernie Sanders. But Sanders is white and doesn’t speak with a “foreign” accent (Brooklyn does not count.)

But this is what has happened to the Republican Party, of which few leaders have condemned these Trump remarks and now no longer hides their racism with dog whistles. Last week Bill Lee, the Republican governor of Tennessee, signed a proclamation ordering a day to honor the Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest, whom he described as a “recognized military figure.” Indeed, Forrest was a talented military commander. He was also a traitor, a war criminal who massacred African-American prisoners, and a terrorist who helped found the Ku Klux Klan. The proclamation, like Trump’s Tweet, was deliberate racism, banking on there being enough racists in the general population. We hope their calculus is wrong and America boots them both out of office.
That's a long and rather rambling post. But seems to have nothing to do with what I asked (nor anything I've even said for that matter). Care to try again?

What about it?

If you use xenophobia (as you seem to agree) when you address American citizens instead of foreigners, including citizens who were even born and raised in the US , you basically say that these citizens are not "real" Americans.
Sure. Which is not racism.

And the reason they are not real Americans is because of their ethnic origin. Feel free to argue that this is not about race if you find a case of politicians telling their white critics to go back to where they came from.

No, sorry, not my job to show the stuff. You're the ones claiming it's racist. I'm simply asking a very basic question: for you guys to show how his tweets are racist?

Sorry, I didn't realize English was your third language.

Latter: denoting the second or second mentioned of two people or things.
"the Russians could advance into either Germany or Austria—they chose the latter option"

Former:denoting the first or first mentioned of two people or things.
"the powers of the former are more comprehensive than those of the latter"

Now you're rambling about English? Are you sure you're okay?

Trump digs in on racist tweets: ‘Many people agree with me’

WASHINGTON (AP) — Defiant in the face of widespread criticism, President Donald Trump renewed his belligerent call on Monday for four Democratic congresswomen of color to get out of the U.S. “right now,” cementing his position as the most willing U.S. leader in generations to stoke the discord that helped send him to the White House.

Content to gamble that a sizeable chunk of the electorate embraces his tweets that have been widely denounced as racist, the president made clear that he has no qualms about exploiting racial divisions once again.

“It doesn’t concern me because many people agree with me,” Trump said at the White House. “A lot of people love it, by the way.”

The episode served notice that Trump is willing to again rely on incendiary rhetoric on issues of race and immigration to preserve his political base in the leadup to the 2020 election.

COMMENT:-

This time Mr. Trump IS 100% correct - many Americans DO agree with him. They are quite on board with his suggestion that anyone who isn't white and male should not have any say in the governance of the United States of America and that they should all "go back where they came from" (regardless of whether they, and their parents, and their grandparents, and their great grandparents, and their great great grandparents were born in America).

Sad, isn't it?

wow you can read into peoples minds? i have looked at all of the tweets no where anywhere does it mention race.
in fact i have held for a long time if you hate america and you hate what this country stands for the the freedom that
you take for granted then you need to go live somewhere else. you will be begging to come back to this country.

i have traveled around the world. i wouldn't want to live anywhere else but in the US.

People that are racists will never admit it unless they have an audience like the above quotes from 'out of the closet' white supremacists that have found a platform custom tailored for their hate fill rhetoric on social media.

let see how consistent you are.

those 4 woman have spouted some of the most racist, anti-Semitic comments out there.
so you should condemn them yes?

When you falsely accuse black women of hating America without any iota of evidence, you're a racist. I don't see Trump telling white women who disagrees with Trump to leave.

Sure we will condemn them if you can show us any quote showing they're anti-Semitic.

please show me where he accused black women of hating america?
i read his tweets i never saw that anywhere in there. don't make up crap that doesn't exist.

AOC, and that crowd are anti-american and anti-semitic. they have their statements made publicly to support that.

his actual term was democratic congress women. that implies all women not just what you want to define it as.
that would include white women as well.

Then give me quotes, please. It should clear things up.

Also you forgot about Trump's latest tweets:
Four Congresswomen.webp
Who are those four Congresswomen?

Sure. Which is not racism.

It is your job to explain the problem you find in my post regarding why Trump's tweet is racist. If you cannot offer an explanation, then your answer is just an unsupported statement. So, let' s try again with my quote:

If you use xenophobia (as you seem to agree) when you address American citizens instead of foreigners, including citizens who were even born and raised in the US , you basically say that these citizens are not "real" Americans.

As long as you fail to show contemporary examples of white critics targeted by their opponents or Trump with posts that are "xenophobic," you have to admit that it is only critics of non-white races who are considered as being "foreigners" and not being "real Americans." Such double standards is what makes the tweet racist.

thank you for proving my point that he didn't accuse black congress women.
you can recant your statement now.

I'll give you 10/10 for a good deflection.

I am not a great reader, but I think that the President NEVER said that non-males and non-Caucasians should not participate in the government and that they should leave the States.

I believe that he lost his temper with the Squad because all of their words are very negative about this country, so he said (admittedly in undiplomatic words) that maybe they should find another country that they find more suitable.

I do agree that some Independents and even some Republicans may decide to vote for the Dem candidate or to abstain from voting for president. Of course, the President can ill afford to lose even one vote.

I agree with the President's critics and some supporters (which include me) that the President is his own worst enemy. If he stopped all tweets today, for example, his popularity ratings might actually rise.

What are the negative words about this country the “Squad” has said? Trump talks about American carnage, said the country was a mess. Was it that sort of stuff?

Yep!

Trump also sided with the same people who said (again) to a certain Black Democrat to go back to his "country" Kenya.

Trump also called a Latino American judge "Mexican judge"

There is a consistent pattern of promoting the idea that people who oppose Trump's plans and who are not white are not real Americans.

You post quotes from honest racists, showing the truth of what Trump said and what it means, while DP has dishonest racists trying to hide what it means

I guess DP has racist posters who are ashamed of who and what they are
Like who LT? Care to name names?
