Trump cancels Singapore summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un[W:193]

Re: Trump cancels Singapore summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un

That is absolute nonsense. NK never stopped talking to us. In fact they told Trump not to bother coming if his expectation was unilateral denuclearization. He went on to mint commemorative coins then suddenly penned a bizarre letter which begins with cancelling the summit and ends with maybe not citing “open hostility” after Bolton and Pence bungled the whole thing with talk of a “Libya model.”
Releasing belligerent statements to the press is not talking to the administration. NK had stopped direct communication with US diplomats that were to finalize the June Summit days ago. They stopped responding. After Trump canceled the summit, they are communicating directly again and are conciliatory. They are learning that Trump will not be played. I don't give a **** about the coins or Nobel. I support the way NK is being handled by this administration.

Actually I did bring up the bullet points that are being discussed as to why djt canceled the meeting. When you're loosing do you always resort to accusing the other side of irrational behavior. Looks to me it's you that couldn't come up with a rational response. Happy Memorial Day!
Loosing?

Responding to the belligerent statements of the orange buffoon in the White House and his lackeys is to be expected. I don’t support this administration and never will. Trump has no place anywhere but the kiddie table so North Korea should leave the U.S. on the sidelines and manage their business through SK and China.

I would much rather have lower level negotiations for an extended period of time than rushing this.
That's the custom, summitry requires lengthy preliminaries, then there's a fanfare when foreign ministers or secretaries of state announce the summit to conclude with the heads of state at some protocolary signing event. Behind the scenes we've got thousands of diplomats, economists, intelligence agents and military officers scrutinizing, analyzing and interpreting all sorts of details. When Trump agreed to meet with Kim a few minutes after Kim offered to denuclearize, the critical left was aghast, Trump couldn't possibly accomplish this without relying on months or even years of analysis, discussion and negotiation by diplomats, economists, military and intelligence analysts! Trump thinks he can, so he offered to go ahead. Maybe Kim didn't expect that, but Trump accepted Kim's invitation. Now Trump backs away, he was offended by Kim's renewed denunciations and threats, then Kim urges reconsideration and Trump says fine, he might go to the summit. Democrats are looking ridiculous; you denounce Trump for agreeing to meet with Kim, then you denounce him for not agreeing to summit and now for reconsidering not meeting with Kim. Is your position that it is bad to summit with Kim regardless, that meeting with Kim would be wonderful, but only if it is not agreed to by Trump, do you think summitry is just too complicated for Trump or that it would be a good idea to summit in any case?

In my view it would be good to summit with Kim, best if after months or years of diplomatic, economic, military and intelligence analysis with low level meetings between the parties in undisclosed third countries, but failing that, I'd go for an off the cuff summit too.

So in otherwords, you are on the thread only to hate and bash Trump. Have an enjoyable three day weekend. You don't care what happens in regards to North Korea or any consequence of them becoming a nuclear power. I'll move on to someone who cares to discuss the topic.

News flash, at least half of America despises trump. Even respectable conservatives and moderates. I don’t understand why this continues to be shocking to anyone. He’s a train wreck. This is nothing new. Also it’s anyone’s right to speak out against our leaders, and I see people bashing Obama on here (their right as well) and he’s not even president anymore. So, deal.

You are both inaccurate and clueless in regards to what happened in the 2016 election. Firsts, your claim that at least half of America despises Trump is utter nonsense. For ideological reasons as many as half may not like Trump, however only hyper-partisan individuals who are in chronic emotional distress actually despise him. Keep in mind that it took alot of democrat votes in those blue firewall states to get Trump elected. However the point is that you and many like you(even some republicans) are missing the big picture. Trump tapped into a populist movement that actually began in 2010. Rank and file Americans have pretty much had it with establishment politicians in both parties promising one thing during the campaigns and doing the opposite after the elections. The amusing aspect is that people like you created the conditions that elected Trump.

Why are we discussing the election? I didn’t even bring up the election. But if you want to go there, Hillary got more votes so technically more people voted against trump for whatever reason. He won by 80,000 votes across several battleground states due to the electoral college. It was not a landslide. So you can continue to mumble whatever you’d like. Trump won, he’s the president, it’s time to move on from election talk. People like me... I’m proud to be in the never-trumper camp so thank you :) nice screen name by the way... Obamacare never got repealed and replaced on day one like your master claimed. Still the law of the land. How about that? What a sham trump is!!!

Obviously because so many on the left including on these talkboards are still having a very hard time emotionally dealing with Hillary's defeat.

But if you want to go there, Hillary got more votes so technically more people voted against trump for whatever reason.

However if you take California out of the equation, Trump received more votes. California, a very liberal state does not offer much incentive for conservatives to go to the polls and vote. Not many conservative candidates.

He won by 80,000 votes across several battleground states due to the electoral college. It was not a landslide. So you can continue to mumble whatever you’d like.

Not a landslide, however a significant electoral college margin. And those 80,000 votes in the battleground states are big if you understand why they went for Trump. Hillary and the democrats lost touch and trust with working class Americans in those states. Trump campaigned hard for the miners, steelworkers, etc.

Trump won, he’s the president, it’s time to move on from election talk.

I'll make a deal with you. When the left emotionally gets over the results of the 2016 election, I and others will stop talking about it.

People like me... I’m proud to be in the never-trumper camp so thank you :)

See my above statement.

nice screen name by the way... Obamacare never got repealed and replaced on day one like your master claimed. Still the law of the land. How about that? What a sham trump is!!!

I think you can do better then that. A president on his own cannot repeal a piece of legislation. He needs cooperation from Congress. Even with GOP majorities in both houses of congress, he did not get much cooperation from the GOP congress at the time as they wrongly assumed he was not going to be in office very long. The real sham was the establishment GOP having held a successful vote to repeal Obamacare while Obama was president(knowing it was a safe vote because Obama would veto it) and then not following through when republicans gained the white house. However it's a stretch for you to claim that Trump had no success against Obamacare. The individual mandate has been repealed, which will lead to at least a slow death of obamacare. it's only a matter of time.

We know he got benefit.

No, so far we can only suspect that Mr. Trump ("A") received a benefit out of "B" loaning money to "C".

Of course since it is normal business practice for "A" to receive a benefit (of some nature) when "A" facilitates a loan from "B" to "C", that suspicion doesn't quite sink to the "totally deluded, paranoid, dishonest character assassination committed by left-wing, liberal, socialist, commie traitors who are working to destroy America" level.

How much is not known.

Nor the nature of the benefit (if any).

I mean, a half billion dollar loan is a license to print money for developers- look at how desperate Kushner has been to get a loan for his properties (and Qatar delivered!).

Just because one disreputable, sleazy, money-hungry, real estate manipulator will do anything for money, that doesn't necessarily mean that Mr. Trump would.

My guess (and I stress "guess") is that there is ALREADY a deal agreed to whereby the DPRK will cease its nuclear weapons development program (and probably dismantle its four or five nuclear devices and that the parties to that deal are just waiting for an opportune time to announcement. My guess is also that the US government is NOT a party to that deal.

Tactically, the best time to announce that deal would be a couple of weeks after Mr. Trump is undeniably on record as claiming that it will be impossible to reach such a deal AND, when the deal is announced, the parties will invite the United States of America to sign onto the deal PROVIDED that it is formally ratified by the US government (in "treaty form").

Since that deal (assuming that it does exist) will commit ALL parties to it to guarantee the territorial and governmental integrity of ALL the other parties against ANY national party (including those national parties which are signatories to the deal), the odds on the US government actually ratifying (in "treaty form") that deal are so low as to be disregardable.

The net result will be to "show the world" that the United States of America "was never either serious or honest" in its claims regarding the DPRK and was "only looking to create what looked like a legitimate causus belli so that it could invade and conquer yet another country". [NOTE - For international diplomatic purposes (especially in the Orient) whether the US was serious and/or honest simply won't count - because no one will believe the US government.)

Most the world thinks trump is a total asshole....In Europe Putin polls higher than trump...What a complete embarrassment for America

What's there to dispute? You gave an opinion. You haven't proved anything.
No, I stated fact. Which you seem to be disputing, rather ineffectively I might add. Unless you're now claiming you agree with me?

Your opinion:

Well Trump got his $500M for his branded property, so it's not like 'no' American won.

1] Trump won
2] China won
3] NK won
4] U.S. lost

Three out of four ain't so bad, is it?

If I agreed with you I would have simply liked your post, maybe.

Alright, I don't want to beat this to death over semantics, but my list is not opinion; it's fact. Which was my point ...

Deranged. The Trump hatred is a literal mental illness. First, leftists **** themselves over the announcement of peace talks, then when North Korea started up with their typical anti-American bull**** during a previously planned joint training mission, Trump declared the talks of if North Korea wasnt serious and the leftists **** themselves over that. Now, after North Korea bowed and went to South Korea for help it looks like the talks are back on....and leftists are ****ting themselves over THAT.

Geeeeeeee zus....

****ing pathetic.

I have no idea if the peace talks work or not or if they turn out to be a good thing. I hope so...for the worlds sake. But the number of people that are desperate for this to fail just because they hate Trump.......

The 'losers' in all this? **** if they arent obvious for all to see.
