You mean you didn't realize that from the start?
For Trump it's about flexing his executive muscle and getting what he wants no matter the cost or consequences.
For Pelosi it's about checking abuse of executive power.
Pelosi's actions have all been to reopen government, get federal employee's the back-pay they're due and put forward security initiatives conducive to strengthening security at the southern border in one instance using the same legislation that came out of the GOP-controlled Senate. Trump, on the other hand, is all about keeping a campaign promise, creating a false narrative on southern border security and having it his way. We'll see how this all plays out around February 1 at best or March 1 at worse. If this standoff continues until the debt limit which is due to be raised in March...
