Tiger on Trump, The Reaction

The media decides to fish for another celeb's opinion about Trump.
Celeb doesn't say a nasty thing about Trump, so celeb becomes evil to the media.
To make things worse, an asshole claims "he isn't Black" because of it, stupidly dragging race into things.

What have we learned from this? The media has become disconnected with reality and is in desperate need of some sort of therapy.

Trump's fault :)

Seriously: ESPN should be ashamed of themselves. And the NYT guy should get the cold shoulder from Tiger from here on out. But, I suspect Tiger is above that, just like he was by not taking the bait.

Let's play it your way. Kellerman only said what he said because he is a racist. He would never of talked to white golfer that way. He needs to be fired.

Kellerman is stupid. That much is indisputable.

I*mean Tiger Woods is the face of a sport mainly played by older white guys. He’s a businessman. He knows where his bread is buttered. Also I imagine tiger knows anything about nothing utside of golf or sluts.

ESPN's trying to get onboard the "Hate Trump/Conservatives" train because Hollyweird's doing it.....and it's been a massive failure. The ratings have plummeted and ESPN has become a joke.

Agreed.

The left seems to fail to understand that normal people don't want to have politics injected into everything, especially things that aren't related to politics. The people's reaction is quite predictable: they change the channel when it gets to be too much for them.

Seems the left is forcing a lot of channel changing lately.

Have the NFL ratings recovered yet? Don't think so.
Have the summer movies drawn well at the box office? Don't think so.

How many more things is the left going to destroy with their constant political injections?

Ironic and strange obsession with "left" noted.

lol

It wasn't due to race, it was because Tiger didn't come out and bash Trump. I think what Kellerman did was stupid and that ESPN needs to keep the politics out of their shows. They are a sports show, and we have enough political shows and news stations as it stands now.

So you're still not "playing it my way", you're just trying to install stupid, hyperpartisan rhetoric.

No, it's a logical question considering how the left treats any blacks who stray from the orthodoxy.

I never rooted for Tiger when he was heads & tails over the competition but I always root for comebacks. I rooted for
Tiger for the first time when he came in 2nd in the last major. After this attempt to corner Tiger by the boxing guru
I have become a Tiger fan, his refusal to bash Trump puts him in the same class with Jim Brown, someone whose an
independent person.

Interesting development over the weekend. Some NYT reporter badgered Tiger on Trump.

Here's the scene. Tiger just finishes 72 holes. Tired, I am sure. And, instead of asking the man how he felt about his game or why he could not putt for ****, this douche starts asking him how he feels about Trump.

To his credit, Tiger did not take the bait. He answered the questions, but certainly not the way the reporter expected.

But, that's not quite what this thread is about. The real story is the reaction from some in the sports media.

Tiger Woods' 'respect the office' statement about Trump blasted by ESPN host Max Kellerman | Fox News

Dude, give it a rest. The man is entitled to his opinion. And, if he chooses to stay neutral, that's his business too.

Stephen A Smith went even further. 'Not Black', Stephen A Smith Says

Really? Come on now, Stephen A. Don't be a moron.

Personally, when it comes to the current occupant of the White House, I agree with LeBron James. "Trump is a bum." Do I want more people to call the man a bum? Yes. Do I think you're not Black or you're stupid for not calling him a bum? No.

Note: just so there is no confusion, there is a difference between supporting Trump and simply refusing to call him a bum. I don't want people thinking I suddenly love Trump supporters. What Tiger said in no way supports Trump.

Tiger is not confrontational unless it's with a SUV.

Remember when Fuzzy dised him on Fried Chicken and Watermelon...Tiger let it slide.

And, even then he had enough sense to flee instead of ripping the golf club out of the hands of his angry spouse and whooping her ass.

First I heard of it. Obviously that blew over pretty quickly.

If he would have said something unfavorable about Trump, he would have been called a hypocrite since he also cheated on his wife.

I never mentioned the wife. It would be moronic for anyone to believe I wanted Tiger to take a 5 iron to his wife.

The Fuzzy episode blew over because Tiger never spoke up.

The SUV got the worst of Tiger's anger.

Tiger wasn't angry. His wife was. She was chasing him with the iron. And, he smashed the SUV trying to escape.

Yeah. A friend of my gf had a great line.

You know your wife is pissed when she starts beating you over the head with one of the tools you use to earn money for the family.
