This is how STUPID that IDIOT MORON Trump is ... he's Telling where are Subs are!

This whole thread is laughably stupid. Trump revealed nothing that wasn't already known. The carrier strike group was off the coast therefore the subs were off the coast.

BTW considering the fire power of an Ohio class sub and a Los Angeles class sub, being docked in Hawaii could be considered off the coast of Korea.

Also, I still can't find anywhere "secretly hiding" was stated.

You keep repeating this lie: "Trump revealed nothing that wasn't already known." That was not true.

He didn't discuss strike groups. He discussed submarine deployments. We do not disclose submarine deployments except when we give 48 hours notice when one is returning home for their families sake.

What part of carrier strike groups often contain subs and the bad guys know this, flew over your head ??

And what part of subs docking in Busan, South Korea and Sasebo, Japan didn't you understand ??

Do you even know what Trumps quote is ??

"That prompted Trump to point out that the United States has “a lot of firepower over there,” including “two nuclear submarines” sent by the Pentagon to the region last month."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...ac8b446820a_story.html?utm_term=.f334201a78a9

Do you even know what region means ?? Do you even care ??

You keep providing these irrelevant, incoherent ramblings.

We are not discussing strike groups. We are discussing submarines. President Trump disclosed submarine positions for no reason.

He disclosed no positions, he said "in the region" and sho-nuff one showed up in Busan, South Korea and then in Sasebo, Japan.

Argue from facts, not your partisan assumptions.

Oh good, you finally made it on-topic but you're splitting the wrong hair. He specified the locations of two submarines. The looseness with which he described those locations isn't terribly relevant.

Link

I've been on topic, your failure to comprehend isn't my problem.

So you'll better understand; There are 66 commissioned US subs, Ballistic missile submarines, Attack submarines, and Cruise missile submarines. On average 50% are deployed at any on time. That pretty much covers every region of the World.

Submarine Group 7 is forward stationed at Yokosuka, Japan. So saying we have subs in the region is common knowledge, except to bind partisans.

I don't believe you. Or do you have link? With which words did he "specify" the position? If not please stop trying to undermine the position of the country. You probably never realized what Putin's Gerasimov Doctrine means nor understood the character of the nonlinear war Putin has commanded, but it is unacceptable that people try to do us damage in this stupid way.

The transcript is already linked in the thread. He told Duterte that we maintain two submarines off the cost of North Korea.

We normally keep submarine locations secret because that keeps them safer which keeps us safer.

There was no clear justification to divulge these secrets in this instance.

SO, he told a friendly world leader that we had 2 subs either in the Sea of Japan, or the Yellow Sea, or the East China Sea. Damn, that really makes it easy to find them, only a half million or so square kilometers.

Have you ever looked at a map?

Your position is not well thought out.

Yes, they have "a half million or so square kilometers" which they can expect houses two US submarines. To you, this is meaningless, so you assume it is also meaningless to the Chinese and North Korean governments. This is a bad assumption.

China has "a half million or so square kilometers" worth of sensor data. Now, when they comb through it, they know the answer. Ever tried to solve a really, really hard, complicated math problem? You probably won't have a lot of confidence in the answer, so it's nice if you can look it up in the back of the book. That feedback can help you to develop your understanding. It's nice to check your work, it helps you refine your approach to that type of problem.

In this case, we handed this valuable feedback over to Duterte for no discernible gain. Carelessly blurting stuff out isn't a virtue.

Actually it does if you're Sub Commander

He did not tell NK or China. And they both already knew with some certainty that there where subs there...

How about we ask a Navy man?

The freaking sub was on the Navy Ombudsman site for "port o call" for 2 days before Trump said anything.

Geez guys. Come on already. Public knowledge.

There's "bad grammar" stupid, and there's "tells murderous dictators the location of Ohio-class submarines" stupid.

And then there is confusing the intentions of the information stupid.

I'd like to know, from the people who are so outraged by this information, what they think could be done about this information. What actions do you think NK could take knowing they have 2 Ohio's close by?

Yes, really it does. ;)

A North Korean Sub commander? A Chinese Sub commander? A psychic sub commander? You dont think every single sub commander in the region doesnt already know our subs patrol those seas? You cant be serious.

I see a lot of gain in finding out what Duerte could keep his mouth shut about. I find a lot of gain in finding out the reaction other countries would take knowing such obtuse information. I find a lot of of gain in trolling progressives.

No he didn't, you've already been informed of Trumps quote and link. You're a dishonest poster.

"That prompted Trump to point out that the United States has “a lot of firepower over there,” including “two nuclear submarines” sent by the Pentagon to the region last month."

Thank you for your honesty: you think trolling progressives is more important than national security.
