'The worst call by far': Donald Trump badgers, brags in Malcolm Turnbull call

Addressing two points here. Firstly, the refugees will still be subject to US vetting measures (I'm opposed to them being sent there to begin with) and secondly, Turnbull sets the record straight.


Mr Turnbull also made clear that the deal made with Barack Obama was “not an acceptance to take in everyone.” “Can I just make this clear, the suggestion in some parts of the media . that this involves taking refugees sight unseen is wrong, it has always been based on the premise that the US homeland security officials would take into consideration their vetting measures. “It is possible that they will take a smaller or larger number.”

Malcolm Turnbull has denied reports Donald Trump hung up on him at the end of the two leaders’ phone call at the weekend and is adamant the US President has committed to honour the countries’ refugee deal. “There’s a lot of talk around about the call allegedly from people who were not party to it,” he said. “These calls generally remain, naturally, completely confidential. “We have very, very strong standards in the way we deal with other leaders and we are not about to reveal details of conversations other then in a manner that is agreed.” Despite Mr Trump tweeting this afternoon that the refugee deal was “dumb” and he would study it, Mr Turnbull believed he would honour it.

Something that had absolutely nothing to do with my post. Have you really never heard that phrase "have you stopped beating your wife" before? I find that rather hard to believe for someone that's been on a debate forum for eight years.

It is simply more evidence that we have a mentally disturbed badly damaged egomaniac in the White House who poses a genuine threat to the American people and possible parts of the rest of the world also.

even the Trump suck up site Drudge is going with the story that Trump abruptly ended the call when it did not go his way.

Except that you didn't use that phrase. You used an example. One which had nothing to do with that phrase. One which is a factual reality that happens all the time. Or do you not know what that phrase is meant to show? Because it sure as heck wasn't what you said.

Read Serenity's post 126. How can it be more evidence when its been proven to be a lie?

And even before Serenity proved that it was a lie how would it be proof when there was no evidence that he actually did what the lie claimed he did?

Come now Haymarket. Before Trump was elected you were always asking for proof of things. Why aren't you asking for proof now before making these silly comments?

The point is not the narrow idea as to how Trump ended the phone call or the courtesy that a foreign ally will extend to cover up a possible faux pas and bad manners by Trump. The larger point is that Trump badly needs to learn how to talk with foreign leaders as equally peers.
