THE SOLAR ECLIPSE COULD MEAN DISASTER FOR TRUMP, ACCORDING TO ASTROLOGERS

Donald Trump’s presidency was written in the stars—at least that’s what astrologers are saying. He was born during a lunar eclipse, they point out, which makes him more susceptible to the power of eclipses. And if eclipses are monumental celestial events with real-world consequences, as astrologers believe, then the rare total solar eclipse happening in August could have major implications for Trump, especially given the growing drama around his administration.

“There’s been a lot of conversation about this eclipse in terms of what’s going on with Donald Trump,” says Wade Caves, an astrological consultant who earlier in July published a 29-page analysis of the coming eclipse. “The astrological world has been completely buzzing with this for quite some time, even more so since Donald Trump was inaugurated.”
(. . .)
The August eclipse is not only unique because of its rarity, astrologers claim, but also because the astrological activity associated with it happens to line up with that of the president. The eclipse is occurring in Leo, for instance, which is rising in Trump’s chart. The lion is the symbol for Leo, and thus the sign represents rulers and kings. “At the moment that he was born, certain degrees were activated. This eclipse is activating those same degrees,” Caves says about Trump. When other aspects of the eclipse are taken into account, he adds, “a lot of astrologers are expecting some kind of downfall, some kind of ruin, some kind of difficulty.” my emphasis

Shooting arrows into the work of the so-called journalists is to easy to be entertaining anymore, I have found.

If Newsweek is now publishing such complete and utter bull**** as astrology
with a straight face then it is no longer mainstream.

But wait. The intellectual interests and attention span of the US population is in
a state of advanced regression, so it could be that enough morons now take astrology
seriously to have propelled it into the mainstream.

We'll be along the 100% line here in Illinois on August 21; have to get special glasses; worth it because the next one is in 7 years north north toward me in Illinois. she's even taking a personal day. Take binoculars to all adventure trips;

It's supposed to be going right through the downtown of Nashville; SIU Carbondale is renting out its dorms; St. Louis is buzzing; we'll be able to see stars; the sun's coronal atmosphere;

Watching the waxing moon each night ;

Newsweek has not been respectable since Tina Brown was brought in to turn it into a tabloid (she failed to make something that works).

It had been a failed operation long before that.

Thanks for the info- I stopped reading the fool rag over 20 years ago
and did not know how low it had sunk.

For my money the best news magazine, by far, hands down in English
is the UK's The Economist.

The Economist is one of the better ones though their pro globalism bias has been bothering me more and more, and they keep not seeming to correctly track what is going on, for instance I am pretty sure that they never understood the POWER OF TRUMP till he won. I am likING The Week the best at the moment, I like the way they keep breaking new ground, and I see lots of bias in the pieces but the overall mix of biases tends to be evenhanded and stimulating. The Atlantic as well for the same reason but they are doing something different as a monthly.

Glad you liked the link.

If I recall both Nancy and Ronald Reagan consulted with an astrologer....

"...WASHINGTON, May 3— President Reagan and his wife, Nancy, are both deeply interested in astrology, the White House spokesman, Marlin Fitzwater, said today, and two former White House officials said Mrs. Reagan's concerns had influenced the scheduling of important events....

Another former official said the President timed his announcement that he would run for re-election after he and his wife consulted astrological signs.

Early in his political career, Mr. Reagan scheduled his inauguration as Governor of California in January 1967 to take place at an odd time, 12:10 A.M. News reports at the time said the decision was made to take advantage of favorable astrological portents...."

I confess I have not been reading TE much for years.

As for globalism I favor (1) Fair Play, and (2) Try let everyone have a few boats afloat.
Aside from that I am not sure WTF to do.

Speaking of boats in this case TE was in the same boat as virtually everyone else
except the furthest right wing. Everyone to the left of the furthest right screwed it
up beyond recognition, and has a lot of of soul-searching yet to do. Every damn one
of them. Get it right next time, dorks.

I go way back with TA. They did a number on that Scaramucci sleazer, didn't they?

How did CNN miss this breaking news

Look at CNN homepage any day, you will usually see at least three things that would not be there if they were trying to be a journalism outfit....today it is a movie Rotten Tomatoes does not like, what is the best whisky in the world, and a slew of Victim Culture advocacy pieces.....Victim Culture Advocacy is huge with them most days.

Probably it is this that drives Trump nuts more than anything else.

Eclipses have spawned superstitions since the dawn of time. Nothing new. Not sure why Newsweek is giving credibility to the latest such superstition, however.

Because they hate the Trump administration and want him gone!

That is some dumb stuff right there.
WTF has happened to Newsweek? It used to be respectable. Now it's lowering itself this far into the gutter?

I'm not surprised astrologists are predicting downfall, but it's not like they use any facts so why get so outraged about it?

Newsweek is allowed to report on whatever they want. If they want to print a silly article about astrologists predicting doomsday for Trump. IDGAF.
It's no different from when Fox News was talking about all the people who believed Obama wasn't born in this country.

If we change the definition of "report".

"Report" is a journalism term, Newsweek needs to be a journalism outfit to use it, says me.

So because they report on a silly topic they suddenly aren't a news outlet? Sorry but weird and silly news has been apart of the media for hundreds of years. Why should Newsweek stop just because snowflakes are upset?
