"The Russians are coming! The Russians are coming!

You do know they have elections. The true enemy of democracy are the people who will not give it a chance to flourish everywhere.

The election was rigged by Russia. They were not fair and honest elections. The millions of dollars of Russian money flooded social media changed a lot of votes. He's an illegal president.

You got a discussion...you dont like what the facts say about your points.

This belligerent response is facts?

Tell me...is it your position that the rat party all the way up to Barrack Obama were just complete and total ****ing morons?"

You make a swell point.

You do realize that everyone involved - candidates and anyone who wants them to win - spend a lot of money "flooding social media" during election seasons, right? Propaganda, mischaracterizations and outright lies have been told about candidates since the beginning of the country. That's how politics work, that's how politics has always worked and it will continue in the next election and the next and the next. There was no "rigging". Everyone voted how they chose to vote.

Wait...you just repeated a query made of a leftist...perhaps you should answer it.

You might learn something about yourself.

That is not the same as foreign money, especially an enemy of democracy, to flood social media, and hack email accounts with the sole purpose of having one candidate win over the other. It's not normal and the right have normalized it. Senator John Ratcliffe said it himself, live on television during the debate yesterday. "The answer is 'yes'. We do it all the time." Watch the video, witness it for yourself, and tell me that this is okay with you.

No thanks. No votes were changed after they were submitted. Everyone voted for the person they chose to vote for. Therefore, legitimate election results.

I asked you a question. The question is, do you believe as Republican Congressman John Ratcliffe believes, that is okay to ask a foreign government to interfere in our U.S. elections? I hope you find the time to do some research on Russia's disinformation campaign and how it "changed" votes by changing minds.

People "change minds" every single election season. People spend millions of dollars trying to change minds. I have no desire to go down your little rabbit hole. I was responding to your comment that votes were changed. They weren't. Everyone voted for who they wanted to vote for and there is no evidence that any of those votes were changed after submission. Legitimate presidency. If spending money to try to change the minds of voters in an election season was illegal then every single person ever elected to any office would be illegitimate.

You're afraid to agree with him and yet you're afraid to state that you disagree with him. That's the mark of a weak, malleable mind. You are conflating legal campaign donations with the money a candidate gets that's ILLEGAL.

I've done nothing of the sort. I'm not interested in discussing someone else's opinion -- I'm discussing my own. And we haven't been talking about illegal campaign donations this entire time. Illegal campaign donations are illegal. Using money and power and influence to try to change voter's minds in an election has always been and will always be part of elections and it isn't illegal (unless, of course, you've committed a crime while trying to manipulate people - libel, slander, etc.) Every single campaign video is trying to change minds. Every single rally is trying to change minds. Every single media outlet is trying to change your mind. Every single political pundit, TV or radio talk show host, YouTube channel, Twitter account is trying to change your mind. Trying to change people's minds isn't illegal. Hacking into computer systems - illegal. Actually changing votes - illegal. Voting for dead people - illegal. Using campaign funds illegally - illegal (derp).

Here's an example of ads, that really didn't seek to 'change minds'. What they did was intentionally misinform people that were susceptible to this type of disinformation. They all look legitimate, but they are all propaganda that came straight from a Russian troll farm in Moscow.

You can't be taking yourself seriously in this argument. They all look legitimate? Maybe to a 14 year old. But I'll go with it. What do you think should be the penalty for anyone who creates a meme like this on social media?

It doesn't matter what I think of Russians that created or still create disinformation such as this, it mattered to the special council under the direction of Robert Mueller who indicted 13 Russian Nationals on charges of conspiracy to defraud the U.S., conspiracy to commit wire/ bank fraud, and identity theft and 12 Russian Military Officers also indicted for conspiracy to commit computer crimes, identity theft, and money laundering. Then there was Alex Van der Zwaan who was Robert Mueller's first conviction. He's a Dutch attorney that was sentenced to 30 days in prison for lying to federal agents, and alleged collusion between aides to Trump and Moscow. He pleaded guilty, convicted, sentenced and expelled from the U.S.

No, it didn't matter to Mueller since no one was indicted for "trying to change people minds" with memes only the stupidest among us would take seriously. YOU are the one saying these memes are (they aren't) or should be (they shouldn't) illegal. What penalty should a meme creator receive?

Why is everybody all up in the Russia's junk all of a sudden? I don't have a problem with Russia as a matter of fact if I had a son he would look like Putin.

I borrowed the title of a very old 1966 movie to announce the arrival of Russia's top spy, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the White House.

This will be Sergey Lavrov's second visit to the Oval Office, the first being in May, 2017 less than 24 hours after the firing of James Comey. There were no reporters from the American press there to witness the visit or take photos, they were all barred. Photos came from the Russian press. Tass photographer Alexandr Scherbak claimed that he covered the meeting as part of the Russian Foreign Ministry press pool. There was never a readout of what transpired in that meeting.

Andrea Mitchell questioned Sergey Lavrov before he entered the Oval Office for that 2017 meeting. Here's that video.

Once again, Sergey Lavrov will be welcomed into the Oval Office, and once again US reporters will be barred. Once again the American press will not get any readout of their meeting. Hopefully, once again, there will be no firing of the Director of the FBI as Comey was. But don't be shocked if it happens even if it's not today. I believe that Trump will fire Christopher Wray and put a Russian stooge in his position. It would be perfect for Russia having both the Attorney General and Director of the FBI working on their behalf.

Oh my god, so mysterious. The president is meeting with a world leader, oh my god, a second time no less and the press is barred They will probably discuss how they will prevent you from voting.

I feel sorry for people that vote based on the ads they see on the internet or TV.
All the ads are propaganda. Do you really think the nasty ads run by the DNC or RNC are not propaganda?

The real Russian agent is Obama. He meet with Putin four times. One time a private conversation about Ukraine. I wonder what was said. Maybe he said go ahead with Crimea because I have no intention of giving Ukraine lethal weapons to defend themselves.

Holy Christ, I know you can't be five years old so maybe you didn't have history taught to you in grammar school. Unless you're a died-in-the-wool full-on Russian troll, nobody who knows anything about the Soviet Union and subsequent Putin-run government, you wouldn't have the perception that there's anything 'good' or 'positive' about Vladimir Putin.

If you are an American citizen, your comment is downright chilling. You think we're all "in Putin's junk all of a sudden" ? John McCain put it succinctly, “Vladimir Putin is a thug and a murderer, a killer, a butcher and a KGB agent”. If you had a son and he looked like Putin, would you also want him to be like Putin?

The list of people that have been murdered on orders from Putin and those people close to him, and that list is long. It includes Putin’s early critics, like liberal politician Boris Nemtsov, investigative journalist Anna Politkovskaya, and exiled former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko. A UK government report showed that Litvinenko’s death (he was poisoned using polonium in London) was “probably” approved by Putin. Malaysian Air flight 17 was blown out of the sky by Russia as it was flying over eastern Ukraine. There were 283 passengers, including 80 children, and 15 crew members were on board.

Neither I, nor anyone else, should have to educate you about Vladimir Putin or how Russia is ruled under his thumb. It's sad that you seem to have some type of love-admiration for this murderer. Too bad that Charles Manson died a couple of years ago, he may have been someone you could light a candle for or name your firstborn son after. If you had a son that looked like the first photo of the butcher that you posted, I would get you in touch with a social worker who might be able to direct you to where you could get federal aid to help treat his lifelong condition.

The Russian sleeper cells are very much active right here in DP, the Kremlin’s troll army enlisted new members.

Those ads are more than merely propaganda. Do you understand how many people were fooled into believing that they didn't have to leave work, or leave the kids alone, or trek through bad weather to get to their voting places? Who knows how many people, was it hundreds or thousands that actually texting their votes on election day, which of course was a throw away vote, a non-vote. Yes, people are really that gullible that they would believe that they could register their vote by texting on their phone. Evangelical conservatives living in their safe bubbles would also be controlled by warnings coming from 'Jesus'.

So what should be the penalty for making these memes that fooled hundreds or thousands of people?

Are you reading anything I've already said regarding "what should be the penalty"?? Let me put this quite clear so there's no further confusion with you regarding my opinion of what should be done to people that intentionally interfere with our "free and fair" elections. I think they should be arrested and put in jail and if they're foreign nationals they should be indicted and extradited for trial in the US or at least prohibited from ever entering our country.
