"The Russians are coming! The Russians are coming!

Are you reading anything I've already said regarding "what should be the penalty"?? Let me put this quite clear so there's no further confusion with you regarding my opinion of what should be done to people that intentionally interfere with our "free and fair" elections. I think they should be arrested and put in jail and if they're foreign nationals they should be indicted and extradited for trial in the US or at least prohibited from ever entering our country.

You seem to be having some disconnect here. No one was indicted for creating memes. It isn't illegal to make these memes.

You, however, have made it loud and clear that your opinion is that anyone who creates memes like this should be arrested. Does that apply only to anti-Democrat memes or also anti-Republican ones? Who would you appoint as head of the Ministry of Truth to find these evil meme people and bring them to justice?

You're the one disconnected. You people on the right see this whole political thing through a very narrow lens, a fight between democrat vs. republican and it's not that. At the very core, the bottom of the republican narrative is and has been coming straight from PUTIN. As much as you try, neither you or anyone else can change facts or history.

Now back it up, those particular memes came from Russian troll farms and that fact was clearly established and proven in the Mueller report and if you haven't read it, I suggest you educate yourself and learn what the Russian troll farms accomplished. Russian operatives operating inside Russia were paying people money to sit at a computer all day and invade social media websites and post these memes and promote propaganda. That's precisely the reason that Mueller indicted:

13 Russian Nationals - indicted - Conspiracy to defraud the U.S., conspiracy to commit wire/ bank fraud, identity theft

12 Russian Military Officers - indicted - Conspiracy to commit computer crimes, identity theft, money laundering

Again - they weren't indicted for creating memes. They were indicted for hacking into computer systems and emails, stealing information and documents, using false identities and making false statements and wire fraud. None of the charges have anything to do with silly memes that are created all of the time during election seasons on both sides.

Now let's get back to your opinion that manipulative and dishonest meme creators should be jailed. Who would you want appointed to take over that new area?

There's many things these troll farms did in addition to memes that interfered in our election. I only used memes as an example of how they tried to influence the election because it's simple to comprehend. This disinformation campaign by Russia didn't just start in 2016. Putin is very smart, he recognized what a powerful tool social media is and he harnessed that power in 2014 in Ukraine when Putin used his 'invisible army' of social media propagandists, promoting a pro-Kremlin campaign of pro-Russia trolling on Ukraine stories.

The Mueller investigation proved that Russia’s Internet Research Agency aka 'IRA' is an infamous Kremlin-linked troll farm tried to hijack the 2016 election and swing the vote in favor of Donald Trump. That was all in the report. The Russian IRA learned how to use platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter over the span of four years. They used analytical tools and the built-in network effect of these massive social media platforms to create large artificial grassroots political organizations that were aggressively targeting both Republicans and Democrats. Why would they target both? The answer is easy to see, it was to divide U.S. citizens and put a wedge between political factions and to create animus and fear.

Is creating a dishonest, tongue-in-cheek meme a crime in this country right now, Pi?

AND creating memes on social media! Their endeavors weren't only exclusive to hacking into computer systems and emails, stealing information and documents, using false identities and making false statements and wire fraud. As I said, I gave you the illustration of memes ONLY because I knew you would have a difficult time equating Russia with disinformation intended to help Trump win.

Now I'm finished with your redundant utter nonsense.

They weren't indicted for creating a meme. Just because they also created memes doesn't mean that's part of their indictment. If an Italian created the meme, they wouldn't be arrested. If Johnny in his parents basement in Oregon created it, he wouldn't be arrested either. YOU want it to be a crime. YOU think of it as a crime. But I'm guessing only if it's an anti-Democrat meme, right?

Now I'm finished with your redundant utter nonsense.

The nonsense is entirely on your part. You're just tired of me pointing it out. :)

2016 Presidential Election Investigation Fast Facts - CNN

September 6, 2017 - In a blog post, Facebook announces that more than 3,000 advertisements posted on the social media network between June 2015 and May 2017 were linked to Russia. The Washington Post reports that the ads are linked to a Russian company called the Internet Research Agency. The DNI has identified the company as a Kremlin-connected organization that employs professional trolls who spread political propaganda on behalf of the Russian government. Approximately $100,000 in advertising was purchased by individuals and groups connected to about 470 inauthentic accounts. The divisive political posts included comments on gun rights, immigration, race issues and LGBT matters, according to Facebook. About one quarter of the ads were targeted specifically to run in certain areas of the country. Additionally, the ads urged users to click "like" on certain political groups, triggering a barrage of incendiary messages in their Facebook news feeds. The social network later reveals that Russia-sourced political messages were viewed by about 10 million users.

And this is proof that creating memes is illegal.....how?

They have succeeded thanks to the democrats. No question there.

Holy Christ, I know you can't be five years old so maybe you didn't have history taught to you in grammar school. Unless you're a died-in-the-wool full-on Russian troll, nobody who knows anything about the Soviet Union and subsequent Putin-run government, you wouldn't have the perception that there's anything 'good' or 'positive' about Vladimir Putin.

If you are an American citizen, your comment is downright chilling. You think we're all "in Putin's junk all of a sudden" ? John McCain put it succinctly, “Vladimir Putin is a thug and a murderer, a killer, a butcher and a KGB agent”. If you had a son and he looked like Putin, would you also want him to be like Putin?

The list of people that have been murdered on orders from Putin and those people close to him, and that list is long. It includes Putin’s early critics, like liberal politician Boris Nemtsov, investigative journalist Anna Politkovskaya, and exiled former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko. A UK government report showed that Litvinenko’s death (he was poisoned using polonium in London) was “probably” approved by Putin. Malaysian Air flight 17 was blown out of the sky by Russia as it was flying over eastern Ukraine. There were 283 passengers, including 80 children, and 15 crew members were on board.

Neither I, nor anyone else, should have to educate you about Vladimir Putin or how Russia is ruled under his thumb. It's sad that you seem to have some type of love-admiration for this murderer. Too bad that Charles Manson died a couple of years ago, he may have been someone you could light a candle for or name your firstborn son after. If you had a son that looked like the first photo of the butcher that you posted, I would get you in touch with a social worker who might be able to direct you to where you could get federal aid to help treat his lifelong condition.

The Russian sleeper cells are very much active right here in DP, the Kremlin’s troll army enlisted new members.

I don't see how Russia is any different than other first world countries (since the fall of the USSR). They all spy on each and do dirty tricks. Even countries like France, Germany, Japan and Nigeria do it. They just picked Putin and Russia as the best ones to blame Hillary's election loss on. Now you're supposed to believe there's a Russian under every bed.
