The Democratic Party's Brand is Cooked

The Trump lying aspect is all in your head.
All in my head?

So, you are of the opinion that Trump doesn’t lie? About his great healthcare plan, his infrastructure week, his promise to release the Epstein files? He has been completely honest about everything?

Wow, that’s amazing.

I don't think all of those issues are baked in with the political parties, however not necessarily with each party's voters. Them men competing in women's sports and massive illegal immigration pushed enough typical democrat voters to Trump in 2024 to give him the popular vote and the GOP control of the Senate.
Voter turnout may be your answer. ROE was overturned before the 2022 midterms, not 2024. But voter turnout dropped from 159 million in 2020 down to 156 million. Of those who voted, republicans made up 35% of the vote in 2020 and made up the same in 2024. However, the democratic share of those who actually voted dropped from 37% down to 31%. That leaves the big question is why did so many previous democratic voters stay home in 2024 who voted in 2020? There are a thousand and one theories about that, but there all theories. In 2020 94% of democrats voted for Biden, 5% for Trump, in 2024 95% voted for Harris, 4% for Trump. So, it wasn’t democratic voters voting for Trump.

What it was, it was a combination of 3 million less voters in 2024 than 2020 plus that huge 6 point drop in previous democratic voters that caused Harris to receive 6 million less votes than Biden did in 2020. As for Trump, he won the working class voters for the first time since G.H.W. Bush did back in 1988 along with winning first time voter for the first time, again since 1988. Throw in that Trump won 46% of the Hispanic vote in 2024 vs. 32% in 2020 you have the reasons Trump won 3 million more votes last year than he did in 2020. There’s plenty of other reasons, but this is just a quick synopsis.

Whether it's an error depends on perspective. You and I judge policies based on their effectiveness or by winning elections, and I don't think many on the left do. They judge a policy by how advocating for that policy makes them feel. So in that sense, there is no error as far as they're concerned. Win or lose, policy catastrophy or not, their personal insecurities are massaged by a brand of advocacy that makes them feel morally superior to others.
That's a very good and interesting perspective, IMO.

The Democratic Party's Brand is Cooked:

I keep telling them that nobody wants to go back to Wade, fight the Russians with pistols or swim against boys.

Because they lack real solutions in these passionate issues, the Democratic Party stinks.
Dem ratings are low because DEMOCRATS are angry that the national party isnt' fighting back. maga is dreaming about what this data means for them and their child rapist potus.

If the government "services" were worth the sky-high taxes, then productive people wouldn't be leaving California, NY, and Illinois in droves. The 2030 census is going to be devastating for democrats.

Timestamped:

There are many reasons why people leave certain places. "In droves" is an exaggeration. Certainly cost of living is a factor, but that includes far more than just taxes.

Overall, their total tax burden is roughly 50% higher than ours.
But they get free quality health care, free child care, longer vacations, paid parental leave, free higher education. They are free of the worry of going bankrupt over hospital bills. Like I wrote before, you get what you pay for.

Happiness surveys are bullshit. Perhaps, but until you can explain why, I will take them at face value.

These are people who have to ride bicycles to work in the rain and snow because the goddamn government taxes car ownership to the moon. Yet the roads are crowded with cars. Go figure!

From my perspective, it’s MAGA that lives to hate.
It's not just mega this is just a new word you're using for the same old thing. All through my life long before Donald Trump was never even a Republican everyone said this about Republicans.

It's like when a child gets in an argument with their mom about buying them a bicycle you're not buying the bicycle for me because you hate me
Hate the brown, hate the black, hate the gay, hate the lib, hate the poor.
That's all in your head or you're being told this that's not something you're observing
I can’t for the life of me see how you conclude the opposite.
I'm not being cooked by the media.

Don't know what "E" word, Exquisitor?

No, Daddy and Mommy get a slap on the wrist, I'm going to lock down your second amendment right so you move like a cattle in a turnstile and there has to be a cost to sex change, ie, your own sports league. Girls can play/use boys, boys cannot girls. Use the women's if that's what you are.

Again, thank you for not using the 'E' word.

MAGA.

Many people hold their nose and vote for Trump because they see the Democrats as being an even worse option. Think about that, Democrats: Worse. Than. Trump.

Many people are complete morons.

Those that would base their vote on such silliness as transgenders in sports would fall unfailingly into this category.

These are the folks that see that"Democrats are worse than trump". LBH its a nation of idiots by and large. Idiocracy.

Lol where the **** do they find these people.

The Democratic Brand is absolutely ****ing cooked, but it's not because they're too left wing on any of the dumb ****ing culture war shit, it's because they keep ratcheting to the right on culture war issues without addressing people's economic concerns and being actually populist.

The country itself is majority in favor of aborting rights, the right has been Russophilic for some reason for the past decade, and there's literally like 5 high school trans athletes across the entirety of nationwide high school sports who are just trying to exist and competent while right wingers are moral panicking like it's an existential threat.

2020 election deniers will argue that there were about 3 million less votes for President and that Harris received about 6 million votes less than Biden is that the 2020 election was rigged. However, voter turnout decreased in non-swing states such as Hawaii, California and New York while voter turnout increased in swing states such as Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan and Wisconsin from 2020 to 2024. And Harris received more votes than Biden in Georgia, Nevada and Wisconsin, but she still lost those 3 states to Biden. The GOP base came out big time for Trump within the swing states. When the 2026 midterm elections come, I don't think that the GOP base will come out like they did for Trump.

Neither base will come out as they do in a presidential election. From 1960 until today, the average is 58% voter turnout for the presidential elections and only a 40% voter turnout for the midterms. The 2022 midterms had a 42% voter turnout, last years presidential 59%.

I imagine their policy re-Gaza depressed a lot of voters.
