The Coronavirus is not Trump's fault!

Are the Leftists ready to close the border, now?

Putting up a border barrier is not sealing the border. You can't seal off the country from travelers. Though they should have issued more No Travel bans for more countries than they have. Probably too late now.

NICE TRY!

I guess not...lol

Soooo because Trump acted like a 10 year old in 2014, you and the rest of the left get to act like 10 year olds today. Ok, fair enough. We agree. The left are behaving like a bunch of 10 year olds.

Why can't Trump stop with the name calling altogether, all the time? Why can't he grow up and get some thick skin? He is the President of this country. He's the "leader."

Dems and Repubs both need to act their ages. Yes, I agree with that. I don't think anyone looks up to politicians anymore.

Trump did not create the coronavirus so blaming him for it is just stupid. What we do need to see though is how his administration handles what could be a pandemic. Trump needs to lose the it will hurt the stock market and get to work preparing the country for what might happen. People say we are overblowing this possible problem. I believe it is better to over prepare and not have a serious problem with this virus, than not be prepared and have it kill thousands of Ameicans, wouldn't you? So eveyone get down off he politics of this possible crisis and let the administration do what they can. Complaining about what Trump has done in the past that might make this a larger problem is not going to help.

No one said it is his fault. The problem is his tweeting random opinions not based in fact which contradicts the experts and makes everything worse.

You are the very first republican that I've seen admit that Trump is a horror.

That is because everyone else has left the party. We have never seen such an exodus from a political party previously.
As you've stated, for some republicans that I know, it's all about the economy and their wallets. They don't like him personally and don't believe he's making wise decisions but will vote for him again because they believe he's good for them monetarily.

Now that the market is correcting, let's see.
That bluff is coming to an end now too.

There are few that I know, or have met, that listen to their moral compass and reject him for being a soul-less, immoral, incompetent fool.

Because we humans are a failed species.

I am not saying you are pro-trump generally. I am saying you are wrong to say trump shouldn't be held accountable for years of dismantling our preparedness that is ALREADY clearly harmful. Of COURSE he's accountable for that. You want destroying the government not to get criticized?

That is precisely what Trump supporters want for him: Immunity from criticism, no matter how badly he bungles this response to the coronavirus.

They will have to eat mountains of crow if this epidemic spreads across the US. It's quite contagious, and the time for an effective response may be too late. :(

We should praise him for putting the guy in charge when in his own state he only made the opioid crisis worse because he wouldn't sign on to a clean needle exchange.

It's not trump's fault but so far his choices to help aren't very impressive.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
A rule to live by.

But I've heard no one say tRUMP is responsible for the coronavirus. He is responsible for how the USA responds to it.

The Trump administration clearly did not and does not know what methods we in a free society have depended upon to fight viral infection and pandemic. We are not China. China could build two hospitals in a matter of days force feed 25,000 healthcare professionals into the region and then lock down that region in order to fight COVID-19. WE CAN"T DO THAT in our free society. We can't build two hospitals in a matter of days, we can't force large quantities of healthcare professionals into harms way and we cannot lock down cities the size of NY!

We rely on preparation, data and testing. Whoever the IDIOT in the Trump Administration is that simply did not know this needs to be fired NOW. Azar needs to be fired NOW. Pompeo needed to be fired over multiple issues weeks ago but surely needs to be fired now.

We now have two cases of community transmission in California and one in Oregon and here we go folks.

tRUMP only wants yes people.
Probably why he went bankrupt multiple times.

But to not deal with a potential threat like coronavirus or ebola can have real damaging effects. Not just loss of money and bankruptcy.

Why is the Trump Administration so God Damned oblivious to any opportunity to draw the country together yet takes every opportunity to pull it apart.

COVID-19 response is yet another example. They keep peddling this "risk for average Americans is low" narrative. While that is likely true given the way COVID-19 appears to attack older people and those with chronic illnesses, particularly respiratory, the Trumpkin idiots are missing a golden opportunity here.

The narrative should be that while the risk to "average" Americans may be low, the risk to older Americans and those with chronic illness is very likely higher if not much higher. As such, being careful about travel plans and really rigorous personal hygiene may not have much impact on you personally, the added risk of mortality to those that are older and/or already dealing with chronic illness if individual Americans do not chip in and do their best as individuals could have a significant impact on those at higher risk level and thus the country as a whole.

Those at higher risk are not walking around with signs on their backs identifying themselves for us. The Administration is neither emphasizing thinking about travel plans carefully nor are they emphasizing personal hygiene. MEDIA is doing much more to push the personal hygiene narrative.

At least, the Administration finally started pushing the right narrative regarding face masks though not enough as yet. We now have a shortage of face masks for healthcare professionals for whom they are important protective devices. The general public really does not get much benefit out of wearing masks. There is likely a modest benefit for the general public wearing N-95 masks but its not worth draining the supply of masks. Wash your hands, avoid contact with others, cover your mouth when you sneeze and if using your hand WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER and stay away from people that are sneezing. Turn your head, WHATEVER!

We really won't know where we are and what is what until we can do testing at a high enough level to produce actual data that can translate into action, personal and governmental, another place where the Trump Administration has really dropped the ball.

Again though, it is staggering to me how oblivious the Trumpkin Administration is to any opportunity including a golden opportunity to unite the country and tell a narrative of how taking individual responsibility can help each of us individually but the degree to which helping ourselves can responsibly help all Americans regardless of their age or other risk factors like chronic illness.

Short of mass-producing a vaccine in time (soon) to distribute freely, I don't believe there's a thing that anyone can do to stop this disease now. Trump's response looks like he cares more about the market's reaction, which may hurt his electability this Nov.

You're 100% right. All we can do is play catch-up and hope that a vaccine (optimistically being claimed at just a few months away), can be developed, tested and proven to be effective. My guess is a year to eighteen months, at least.

Face masks don't work. Virus particles are small enough to pass through fabric, and in any case surgical masks are used primarily to protect from splashes of bodily fluids during surgery, and not for protection against airborne virus particles. The masks used in surgery are in any event custom fitted for the individual. A mass-produced mask is not.
Trump's '43 million' masks available may sound encouraging, but it is a mere platitude which ignores the reality:
