Take Trump's media poll!

Most of the media in this country is a complete joke, but its scary that what they say affects him so badly he paid someone to put this on his site.

Attacking the Media is Trumps only option to combat what will inevitably destroy him, the guys is going to **** up even more than he has already, as is clear to anyone who hasn't got ultra violet partisan sunglasses on, he is woefully not prepared for this job and he has surrounded himself with people like Bannon who simply should not have their paws on even a Municipal government, let alone THE federal government.

There could be a lot more about him that could come up that we didn't learn during the campaign, there WILL be more scandals because there are in every White House... there's so much negativity surrounding him it's virtually the only way you could possibly combat it is to convince your followers it simply isn't true, and for those hardcore supporters on this site, it's clearly working.

There's a simple rule in Trumpland, reality don't matter.

Wow. WTF.

I considered replying to it, but the questions are so utterly slanted, that I'm gonna pass.

If there were real questions, and sincerely asked, I would have replied.

Those loaded questions are what Trump and his followers would consider to be fair and balanced.

The questions aren't slanted! The God-Emperor's people formulated them and they are always right.

Every republican president has problems with the biased media.

The difference here is Trump is not afraid of them.

Remember Arnold Scwartzeneggar of California? He ran on a reform platform. His speeches are required reading for any interloping candidate. The media had his balls in a jar on their desk in a year because he didn't fight back.

The MSM media works for the democrats.

I took his survey. At the end, he asks for money. It's click bait.

Of course he asks for money, he's starting his 2020 campaign. Got a rally in FL scheduled and everything. I guess he figures he's going to need a 2 year head start.

He's totally unfit to be president.

I feel like the GOP members of congress know this, but are so desperate to keep their seats that they will "ride the wave" as best they can. Well, at least most of them.

Along with his 2020 campaign kicking-off Saturday, it looks like he's harvesting an email list, and will also use the results as propaganda if he likes them.

Seriously, there was a question that asked about "if" Republicans had obstructed Obama as much as Democrats are obstructing Trump.....What the hell????

The mantra of the Republicans from the git go with Obama was to obstruct Obama. This came from the top dowm. What an amazing disconnect with reality!!!!!!!!

Kind of like Obama's "Attack Watch" campaign.

I see it differently.

He does well campaigning, but sucks at President.

So he's going back into candidate mode ...

It's the one "tradition" that Trump has carried over from the Obama administration (R.I.P. NCAA Brackets)

Bull****. He won the election. That's the major requirement. Sick of this whiny crap. The utter tantrums and stupid ideas you guys are spilling forth show the utter contempt you have for anyone that refuses to toe the PC line is so very telling. Its evidence of the liberal mantra: you will be made to care.

Trump does not care.

I think Trump cares too much what people think and thats why he posted this survey and is attacking the media. duh.

Trump's paranoia will be his doom...just like it was for Nixon.

Our President is looking for our input on how he handles the media. Ask and ye shall receive, I always say.

Is that for real? That is so bizarre. So many things wrong with that. Does Trump now consider himself an expert pollster? Is he becoming unhinged? Or is one of his political operative advisors becoming unhinged?

What's wrong with the poll is:

1. Trumpers will be the main ones responding; and

2. The questions. Here's an example:"On which issues does the mainstream media do the worst job of representing Republicans? (Select as many that apply.)"

That's like asking: "Which are the worst ways CNN has killed dogs? (Select as many as apply.)" (Obviously, the question should be "Do you think the mainstream media has done a fair job of representing Republicans? If not, on which issues has it not done so?")

3. It doesn't identify "mainstream media." News organizations are different animals from political entertainment talk shows, like Hannity and Maddow.

4. It is not the job of news organizations (as distinguished from political talk shows) to "represent" any political party. News organizations report the news. And to suggest a news organization should "represent" the Dems or Repubs as to particular issues is ridiculous. So the premise of the question is false (that news organizations should be representing issues at all from any point of view).

Political talk shows may or may not represent completely both sides of an argument. For instance, the purpose of Hannity's show is to present the Republican viewpoint, while the purpose of the Rachel Maddow show is to present the Democratic Party viewpoint. Neither will completely represent and argue for the opposing side's viewpoint/position, although they may have guests that do so.

If you go on tv, Mr. President, and state a blatant lie (so blatant that people wonder if you're delusional), that will be reported, because that's news. The false statement must be reported, along with the truth, with verification of the truth. If you report that the sun broke out and shone on you when you began speaking during your inauguration, the news organizations will report that you said that, and will also report that the sun did not break out, since it didn't. That is your fault, to have your name associated with a lie, since you were the one who lied. That is not the reporter's fault.

The people have a right to know if the President is breaking from reality or if he's lying to the public.

Yes. I can see it now. He'll send out emails to the list, and ask them to forward. That's how the fake news used to circulate among the alt-right.

I remember one of the favorite fake news emails listed several supposedly large lawsuit recipients and how ridiculous the jury awards were and how fake the supposed injuries were. That email is in Snopes, since it was false. One clue was that there wasn't enough info in the email to identify the lawsuits (since they didn't exist), for anyone to verify.

Then there was the famous email about the lawsuit over the McDonald's hot coffee. That lawsuit was real, but the facts in the email were incomplete and some were false.

Last year there was one in this forum and elsewhere about the old litigation where Hillary Clinton defended a rapist. The email was full of false facts and misinformation...stuff just made up.

The media has completely lost public confidence. They are more unpopular than Congress, which takes some doing. Neither of which has to do with fitness for the office.

I sensed today that the official tone was set for how this administration will conduct itself going forward. They pretty much said **** this "acting presidential" nonsense... Trump gonna be Trump.

It may fail miserably, it may succeed wildly. At this point no one can really say. But it's damn sure going to be entertaining!

It's from the campaign. But as Don pointed out, it's not real. They're not looking for feedback from the public. It's a fund-raising tool.

Most of the media in this country is a complete joke, but its scary that what they say affects him so badly he paid someone to put this on his site.

We have access to global media these days. They are all reporting that the President lies on this or that, report the bizarre things he says or does, the dysfunction in the White House, the EOs, the phone calls, etc. It's the duty of news organizations to report news. It doesn't matter if Joe the Plumber says and does these things, but it's news when it's the President of the most powerful country in the world.

They do an excellent job, for the most part, IMO. The NYT, Washington Post, CNN, NBC, The Hill, etc.

Political talk shows are different. They usually present the host's point of view, with guests from the opposing side sometimes. They don't report news. They discuss the biggest issues of the day, as they see it. The point of those shows is to discuss issues that their viewers want to hear about. Their viewers share the host's viewpoint. So if there were two big stories that day, the host may mainly cover only the issue that his viewers consider more important to them. The very nature of such programs means that the opposing side will not be covered equally.

There are a few talk shows that do try to present both sides, like Morning Joe, Hardball, etc. They have guests on for long discussions who belong to different political parties and take different positions.

The comedy shows focus on Trump, since he's President (and let's face it...he gives them lots of material). They always focus on whoever is the President, from Gerald Ford falling down a lot to G W Bush saying "it wouldn't be prudent" to George W Bush saying "you misunderestimate me" to Obama's koolcat way of speaking. But Trump is so much funnier than the others.
