I don't think it's wrong. I track these trends all the time. It's interesting. At the same time, I don't have it posted on my wall. Why is the SPLC so concerned about it? And what conclusion would they draw?

Maybe he was working on a particular report where those numbers were relevant. Who cares? Changing racial demographics often motivate hate groups, particularly white nationalist populists. The SPLC tracks hate groups. So it makes sense information relevant to the work SPLC does would appear in SPLC offices. You don't work for an organization where that data is relevant, so it makes sense that such information would not be on your wall. I'm sorry, but I really don't see any issue here.

And if you like experiencing diversity of cultures, then you have to maintain isolation. Having everyone live together leads to assimilation. We won't (and don't) have many unique cultures. We'll have one culture, and generally get the lowest moral values as a result.

God does not support abortion but He knows men will and will do wickedly just as He predicted they would in Hosea 13:16.

Just because deluded democrat devotees claim Trump is a racist does not make it so. How they would cringe if they really knew how racist the Clintons and Obamas have been over the years, not to mention scores of others from both parties.

That's a little curious. Does anyone want to comment on this?

I actually have no clue about the point of this thread other than groping for yet another lever to grasp to make another partisan political point (welcome to the current state of DP Forum). I simply have no idea why the fact of demographic change in the US is news to anybody nor why a certain somebody tracks it matters.

There are IMO, three major globally significant phenomenon that lie outside what we would have expected from the human social experience that have literally ruled the period from the 20th Century through today. Everything else that has happened through the period, continued Western Imperialism, angst over access to fossil fuels, technology, globalization were all fairly predictable. IMO, these globally significant phenomenon are as follows:
1) World War 1 which gave us World War 2

2) World War 2 which gave us Hitler's indescribably stupid opening of the Eastern Front thus repeating Napoleon's mistake. The Soviet Union had scale. That is all it ever had. It was never an actual threat to Hitler. A highly defensible position does not automatically yield an offensive platform of merit. Had Hitler dispensed with the Brits he could have had at the Soviets any time he wanted. In fact, using a route through South America and in possession of the English fleet he could have even taken us on directly had he chosen. While having suffered greatly throughout WW2, the Soviets emerged a world power far better positioned than it could ever have achieved otherwise. Losing some population through WW2 actually helped them just as dispensing with 20 million Chinese in WW2 and 20 million more after WW2 actually helped China in the long run. WW2 and the emergence of the Soviet Union on the world stage yielded the cold war, the eventual dissolution of the Soviet Union, the emergence of a new system of government in Russia immediately overwhelmed by massive corruption and now a Russia that has virtually nothing, no economy, no nothing and a populace entirely bought in on the idea that Putin will be able to "steal" Russia back to the their post WW2 prominence. That is what makes it such interesting and fertile ground for a grifter. Enter Donald Trump.
The amount of haggling and hand wringing the West does trying to grapple with what the Soviet Union was and what Russia is consumes massive resources and time most of it misguided and misdirected because we refuse to deal with what Russia actually represents.

3) GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE which is easily the issue of pressing concern. Mainly it is of pressing concern because it has already been causing regional famine and dislocation around the globe and the resulting political angst. Yet we remain stubbornly insistent on sowing the seed of our own demise on this planet, utterly insistent on ignoring the human element of Global Climate Change. Some of our wealthiest people content to explore the stars looking for a new planet to send THEIR offspring to once this one is despoiled beyond all hope. Do you actually think YOUR offspring are getting on one of those starships?

The irony is that I am 39, and for as long as I can remember I have been told I am privileged and should feel guilty. Because of my skin color. I didn’t grow up in the South. I had no connection to historical racism. At all. And yet it’s still my fault black people l didn’t know lived no better than I did. Obama came and pissed all over that fire.

That is mine and millions of other white Christian males experience.

That is how Trump happened.

If you think continuing to try and shame us with all your labels will have any affect then you still haven’t learned from 2016. But we already knew that.
