Spacey Replaced By Plummer

He was a supporting actor. I wonder how many minutes of screen time is being redone. Anyway, good for them.

This has got to be expensive and difficult. There are many on location scenes....there is always cgi. They are to release in six weeks. Not sure I would like to be an investor.

Kevin Spacey: Completed film to be reshot without accused actor - BBC News

This is just insane....there is no way the art will not suffer horrendously from being chopped up this late in the game.

But notice how nobody cares, the "bad man" can not be seen, no matter the costs, because we are stupid now.

I used to be a House of Cards and Spacey fan, but not after this. It really sucks that this is the day and age we live in, when fantasy and our retreat from reality has become usurped by the decadence of our time. What a shame. So pissed.

They will certainly write that character out as best they can, the story will be changed so that snowflakes are not forced to see Spacey.

We insert politics where it does not belong, to our own detriment, we are exactly that stupid now.

If only we could all stick our heads in the sand like you.

You're defending men who rape boys? I would have thought your "men's rights" victim status would have kicked-in full force here.

Common sense and we are the ones who get hurt because now we get a inferior quality film for sure.

How does cutting Spacey out at this late date, chopping up the movie and almost certainly degrading the quality of the movie, help anyone?

That the overly squeamish dont need to look at Spacey on the screen does not count as a benefit, as I would rather they got over their problem.

I'm going to be weird and unpopular for a sec, maybe even controversial. First, I think what Spacey did was deplorable and should be condemned without reservation.

That said, I never think of the actors as themselves when I enjoy them on screen - I mean, if liking actors for who they are in real life were a prerequisite, how many would we have left?

I haven't watched Spacey since this whole thing broke, so I'm not 100% sure how I'll feel the next time I see him in something, but at this point I still like the movie The Usual Suspects, and I'd still watch another season of House of Cards. He is a ****ty person, but a good actor. I'm probably wrong minded, but that's how I appear to be landing at the moment... Weird spot to be in.

If everyone who did something similar to Spacey is going to be blackballed from Hollywood, there's not going to be an industry left.

And everyone in the industry knows it. I'm very, very curious as to where all this is going to end, and who's the most nervous.

Spacey has been accused of raping boys?

The same way it always goes in dark ages where only the purest of the pure are allowed to roam without being pummeled, because that's where we are headed unless adults can be found to intervene.

Historical monuments, entertainment celebrities, politicians etc, the pendulum always swings too far in the opposite direction. We need the longer cleats.....

Snowflakes? Doesn't really fit in this context. The producers aren't worried about anyone being forced to see Spacey, they're worried their film will bomb with him in it.

You have to perfect the drive by post......

If that is true then shame on us, but I dont know the motivation for this, it might well be that Spacey's contract had back end money if he is in the final cut, and they want to deprive him of that, no matter how much they need to degrade their art to do so. This is modern Hollywood, which swims in crap, because not enough people care about quality and increasingly politics comes before art.

You've got some priorities there. Defending a child-rapist, wow.

Allegedly, and I am not defending the man, I am objecting to idiocy, the degrading of our lives for no purpose other than promoting Victim Culture, which has been a disaster for us.

Morals and ethics is purpose. Your position is disgusting and apologizes for child molestation.

Self harm is neither moral or ethical, it is a call form help.

When a left wing politician is accused of something trivial, you're all "capslock bold size 9 we can be better", but when someone is accused by many people of child molestation, you deflect and defend. What do you think the optics are on that?
