Something is Rotten

So the “proper action” would be to complain openly to those in power who already are “fully aware” but doing nothing. You are making the op ed writer’s point.

The leadership in Congress have shown no oversight into the actions of the president. They are just trying to cram through their legislation and seating judges. They are complicit and have abandoned their oaths of office.

Right. It's not Trump and his felony criminal ring of enablers.
It's the other 70% of the population including the DOJ, FBI, Jeff Sessions, Mueller, etc.

Sure Renae, that sounds totally ****ing plausible.

Yeah, it is plausible. Trump is what he is, and I don't care for the man, but the over the top insanity of the hate towards him boggles my mind.

Exactly. They are forming an unelected shadow government and then telling us all to be calm because they got this. Meanwhile they are just pushing their own agenda as they manipulate the idiot in chief. They need to stand down, let the sunshine expose the idiot in chief and either **** or get off the pot. This is all fake heroism they are perpetrating and they should probably go to jail for it.

But to be honest... this is what republicans tend to elect. A figurehead puppet. This to trump... Cheney to Bush... Hell reagan was known as a hands off sleepy prez riding the facade of his charisma.
Which makes me wonder why anyone would signal to the world that there is a shadow government in the WH. This bodes horribly both domestically and abroad. The security implications alone make this seem reckless to me.

Seems to me that this cowardly Op-Ed is probably a way for these people to cover their bums. Otherwise they're unemployable after this POTUS leaves office. Too little, too late.
Collaborators, every one.

"No look guys, we were fighting from WITHIN! No...no...we didn't *enable him*, we covered for him...err, I mean, we valiantly blocked his worst impulses!"

Bull****. It is 100 percent due to Trump trying to run an administration like it’s an episode of The Apprentice.

Phooey.

His tactics are odd, to be sure, but the media has been in a frenzy every since he won and they're going out of their way to dig up things they would have ignored for other presidents.

No, if Woodward's book is correct, and I suspect it is, and as confirmed by Trump's tweets, the daily press, and this op-ed, it's because most people outside of Trump's base don't think it's a good idea to have someone with the intellectual and emotional capacity of a spoiled ten year old running your country.

That is hard to argue with.

So, in effect you are (by default) admitting that Hillary (the most prepared/experienced candidate in history?) was beaten by a guy with an intellectual and emotional capacity of a ten year old? :lamo

Like I said earlier: We get the government we deserve... :peace

I thought that was how Republicans roll. GWB had no interest in policy/governance, he made the clear early on, and the government was run by Cheney and other senior officials.
Reagan to a degree, was also 100% managed, he was had a big heart and was clueless about a lot of government, and many just steered him in the direction they wanted to go.
The more incompetent the Republican president, the better for the GOP establishment.

But I agree. People hiding in the shadows to push their agenda and defacto "support" a nutter of a president, likely illegitimate to begin with, is not heroic.

Before reagan, Ford was too shell shocked and on his heals to do anything making Nixon the last really hands on repub prez. A case could be made for Bush Sr. as a more proactive repub prez. At least by others' modern standards.

That would be in true in nearly any other presidency, but not this one Acadia.
Trump has maxed out the meter on "things that bode horribly both domestically and abroad". Adding another +10 scandal points, to his total of 12,500 scandal points, is a drop in the bucket. We're saturated. I will not believe a single Trump supporter if they feign outrage or concern, at least for a decade. That time is long since past.

So you feel our government itself only includes appointees of the POTUS?

interesting...

The DOJ, DoD, DoT, and on down the line are agencies directed and run by the GOP.

Yep. That this guy or these guys seem to be pushing the notion that they are valiant knights protecting us makes it even worse IMO. If there are truly such huge problems in the WH, get off your ass, stand on principle and expose it. Resign if you must. Everything about this wreaks of incredible unconstitutionality. We can not call ourselves a democracy or representative democracy at all at this point if this is how our government is run.

So no folks from prior administrations stay on-board?

interesting...

If the discussion is an effort to understand who the op-ed author is, he/she has been characterized as a "senior official" and a "Trump appointee".

And if they did? ON NOES>.... DEEEeeeeeep STTTTaaaaate!!!!1!!1!!!!

Not that you ever point out any person or their link to any causality of any event. Just the mere fact that someone somewhere voted not for trump is enough to make the conspiracy real.

The Left realizes how bad this looks. They're desperate to blame it on Republicans.

That is unfortunately not even difficult for anybody that does not have their heads in the sand.

Don't you know in today's GOP their crimes and faults are ALWAYS someone else's fault.

It the Deep state.. Dems...FBI...CIA...Comely... Mueller and of course the MEDIA!! And on and on... None of this is Trump's fault, it's everyone else.

I miss the days when the GOP was the party of self responsibility. Now it's just a bunch of crybabies and snowflakes.

Hmmm...

I never even mentioned the Deep State (you did) and it wasn't even playing a part in what I was clarifying. Just pointed out the folly of considering our government itself is only comprised of political appointees by a POTUS (any POTUS).

Remember: "elections have consequences"

Hello Lefties: Hillary lost (twice)... get over it!

I will repeat this for the seven millionth time, since it doesn’t appear to be sinking in: for the vast majority of “lefties,” our utter disgust with Donald Trump has absolutely nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. She’s too busy living rent-free in your heads to live rent-free in ours.

To realize how bad it looks? Yeah, that's a no-brainer. The resistatards are going to **** around and give President Trump a second term.

There have been plenty of characterizations by the MSM in the last 24 months that have turned out to be false. I personally, don't give this latest pearl-clutch OP-Ed much credibility. It is certainly okay if the Left needs to believe it with all of their heart.

That's a lie. :lamo
