Should we tech intelligent design/creationism in schools as Pence wants?

Atheism is a belief. It shouldn't be taught in our schools.

Atheism is not a belief. Atheism is one thing: A lack of belief in gods. Atheism isn't the affirmative belief that there is no god.

It's not taught in our schools.

You're welcome

Teaching evolution, in order to suggest there's no creator, is teaching atheism.

No, it's not. Evolution has nothing to do with either the rejection or promotion or any divine being(s).

Why continue to babble about something you clearly don't understand?

The Lord made evolution happen.

No, it's not. Why lie about something as simple as that?

For that matter, why try and use words you don't understand and wish they meant something that they don't?

Why try to debate someone when all you have are insults?

That's not how evolution is taught, and evolution itself does not postulate on the existence of deities.

In that case, belief is also a fact...

Believing in stone age fairy tales is also a fact and you are free to do so. However, that doesn't make the fairy tale fact.

Yep, same with evolution and atheism...

So, what happened to Adam and Eve then? At which point in evolution do they come in?

The story of Adam & Eve using different names is a story written in other than the christian bible.

The Sumerians wrote a whole chapter on them.

Since the United States is turning to a majority minority population, and the Asian-American population is increasing. We need to find a new balance that explains human history. True, history of Europe has turned into the Anglo-American not the pan-European history. Today, someone with a German last name and their family came from Germany: has no clue what or were the Holy Roman Empire came from. To understand other cultures, you need to understand their history.

Without understanding Asian-American history, we blundered into the Vietnam War. We did not understand their culture, we did not understand their history, we did not understand their values and beliefs. In a way, we used the model of the United Kingdom dealing with Ireland during the dark ages and into the 19th century. If we kill enough of them, if we starve enough of them -- we will break their will to the will of London.

The reason the United States blundered in Asia during the 20th century, because we the average American believed they would act and perform like Europeans -- therefore political leaders needing to get reelected followed that policy.

We dont teach myths in science.

So no...we're not teaching atheism.

LOLOLOL wait...are you saying that teaching science is teaching atheism? :lamo

The Lord made evolution happen.

Why on Earth should we teach non-Christian children your specific mythical belief in science?

How about we teach that Jesus wasnt the Messiah in history class, for the Jews? How would you feel about that?

That's what world history classes are for.

Do you believe in global warming?

Up until about the 1880's, doctors believed that infections were caused by a vapor in the air.

Homosapiens.

Homo sapiens. Write it correctly.

And what about all the hominids that came before them? Did God just not give them names?

That has nothing to do with your claim that schools are teaching atheism or that evolution OR ANY science has anything to do with atheism.

Science isnt based on an assumption there's a god, gods, or no gods. :doh

Plagiarism...

Homosapiens.

Huh? That makes no sense. If evolution was created by Lord as you claim, there is no single Adam and Eve to start off Homosapiens - they would have gradually evolved from other species over many generations.

I am a practicing Christian and as the Lord has asked, I believe in Him solely on FAITH.

If you need to believe that there is some physical proof that God exists...or need to prove it to others...your faith is weak.

And that goes the same if science in some way undermines your belief in God. Your faith is weak.

Well, I believe the scripture to be mostly accurate. The Torah for example was written in Chaldean, and then an English version was made in 1672 if I remember right. The King James Bible. What we have found since, is that most Bibles are not an accurate translation, and many places are uncertain as for it's accuracy. Read from a literal translation, it can be perceived that God was only one of many. That they terraformed this planet, and genetically altered man.

In the creation story, the word created actually meant formed. The specific spelling in the Torah, for Adam, meant "mankind." It wasn't until the story of Adam, Eve, Cain and Able, that this was now a different Chaldean word that was a proper name, rather then species.

There are several things that are interesting to a scientist in the bible, using literal translation of the oldest known text.
