Should police shoot looters?

Your relying on a mantra, not on thinking it through.

Using your bad reasoning the state is obliged not to to do anything that restricts the right to bear arms but the citizen has no right to own a gun. Which is ridiculous.

The state must provide every citizen with a right to a fair trial which in turn means that every citizen must have the right to a fair trial. Not be shot down indiscrimanetly by people who have decided themselves to be judge, jury and executioner.

You are not only ignorant of how a constiturion works but cannot even think your way through some basic logic.
 
I believe that shooting looter would be a lot of lost votes for democrats....so I approve this message.

Does New Zealand even have a Constitution that is like the US's? You know the 1st amendment and free speech? What about New Zealand BORA laws?

Well, most all the photos and videos of looters show them to be black people but this ain't about race. But, given the fact that, as I mentioned before, it appears most looters in the photos and videos ARE black, I suppose you make this a race thing. But I'd prefer not to if it's all the same to you.

I'm pretty sure, if I look hard enough, I could find evidence of white people looting here in the U.S.A.
 
Police are not judge, jury and executioner. Their job is to detain people who are suspected of committing crimes, for due process.

So no, I am not in favor of summary executions for looting.

Everyone is entitled to a trial. Proof that they looted? Proof that they weren't just in the wrong place at the wrong time? You know, the whole innocent until proven guilty thing?

Private businesses should have something called INSURANCE to cover their losses. Police are not hired guns to protect your stuff, they are law enforcement and protectors of the public.

I'm amazed how often I have to explain the duties and responsibilities of the different branches of government to people. Didn't you people take civics in school? Our society is screwed!

Given that looters are only considered looters when they are black, and considered survivors when they are white I'd say that sounds like a really stupid idea.

Why don't we just use the video tape to arrest them like exactly what happened in here in Florida?

I think having people shoot at each other in that situation just makes things worse.

No, but a blanket policy of shoot first ask questions later is a violation of the 4th Amendment, among other things.

If a cop shoots someone it better be for a damn good reason, like the perpetrator is violent and a threat to themselves or others.

Even the idea of shooting someone "non-lethally" if they are resisting, in order to detain them, is farcical. There is no such thing as a guaranteed non-lethal gunshot wound.

Then let's just say that Martial LAw should be put into affect during national emergencies... then the cops and military can blast the looters.
 
Y'all should go see the movie Detroit. Pretty stark depiction of what can happen when looters, confirmed or alleged, are shot on sight.
