Learning? Allow me to educate you on how we learn from our mistakes. I've commanded large incidents in my career, and I'm familiar with critiques and their value. In the FD we called these critiques a "Post Incident Analysis". Tossing insults from the sideline helps nobody.
The operative word being "Post", which means it takes place after the emergency in question is over. And yes, it is a good way to point out things we can do better, as well as re-enforce the things we did well. But attacking an incident commander publicly while the emergency is still unfolding, like Schiff did on MSNBC doesn't help anyone. It's petty, and obviously politically motivated. To be accurate, the GOP couldn't find have a **** to give about the death of those Americans. After all, they couldn't care less when far more Americans were killed in consulate attacks under Bush. It was all to smear Hillary with an email server. And that's fine.


What's not fine is a legitimate investigation into the first three months of lying and denying by Trump, which got people killed, all to try to protect his numbers.

I'm gonna take your post as sincere. You are a true believer. The scary truth is that most of the electorate, at least the politically astute, feel the same way. The pure hard core partisan right, believes just as strongly, and passionately as you do. I don't believe it's healthy for our country to harbor so much hate and resentment toward each other. I would like to believe that most of us, on both sides of the aisle, underneath all the bluster, are good, decent human beings, that love their fellow man. We need to get back to the days when we could disagree politically, but defend our fellow Americans right to that opinion to the death. We need to heal.
