Putin NAILS IT

You really don't know the history of the nuclear area, do you?

A missile shield is a strategic threat.

Not in the form that is being used in Eastern Europe. It is not for protection against Russian missiles. The comprehensive and extensive missile shield that some propose we build here would certainly be a threat though. It would start a arms race with China.

Amid high Russia-West tension, U.S. and NATO officials will declare operational the shield at a remote air base in Deveselu, Romania, after years of planning, billions of dollars in investment and failed attempts to assuage Russian concerns that the shield could be used against Moscow.

"We now have the capability to protect NATO in Europe," said Robert Bell, a NATO-based envoy of U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter. "The Iranians are increasing their capabilities and we have to be ahead of that. The system is not aimed against Russia," he told reporters, adding that the system will soon be handed over to NATO command.

An invasion of a separatist group largely internationally unrecognized. Which they responded to by invading a US ally.

Lol...we only recognize what we say is legit and don't recognize what we say isn't. I remember for a while we had invented a "real" Syrian government and said Assad was the illegitimate government. They were their own territory, period. So, yes, Russia defended their ally.

How is this hard for you to understand?

Russia decided to support a separatist group to weaken the position of a US ally. It's sort of like the Ukrainian situation now, where Putin has been supporting seperaists in the Ukraine to prevent them from potentially becoming a US ally.

That doesn't change the reality of the matter.

The reality that Putin is more than willing to launch operations to harm US allies.

The reality is we have no standing to complain, as our foreign policy has been utter garbage for decades.

A subjective point at best; I'd say that we have every right to complain if we see people making the same mistake we made.
