With Orrin third in a line behind Pence and Ryan to replace Trump a lot of things have to fall in place. But, the pieces are certainly there.

Odds Don resigns are probably pretty good right now. So, let's say that within a year or less that is a done deal.

Now, of course, Pence is nowhere near as embroiled in this malarkey as Don, but is he clean? I'd say not likely. At the very least, as head of Trump's transition team, he knew more about Flynn than he has let on. Perhaps he even covered up what he knew. And, if so, therein lies the danger. I'd say, Pence is in at least as much hot water as Don.

Then comes Paul Ryan. What did he know and when? Well, we know he knew Trump was on the Russian payroll---he was caught on tape telling the other House Republicans to stop talking about that. Is that enough to take him down? I doubt it. But, where there is one cover up, more are sure to lie beneath it.

President Orrin Hatch would be a pretty good ending to this current nightmare. What say you?

I say, Orrin Hatch is a filthy politician saturated with lobbyist money who doesn't have our country's best interest at heart and way, way over the hill, and needs to retire.

I think there are a few people here who need to calm down about politics and go take a walk.

He would after finishing Don's term.

Somebody's been reading a certain blogger from across the pond.

The main question is, what Trump has proven like done to in any way justify an impeachment under us law. I mean, I don't like him, but....

It's preposterous, so you end up finding out where this President Hatch thing started and then you laugh.

if Trump is tossed from office, it will be Pence. that's still a big if, though.

Please show where I wrote "impeach." I said resign. And, he will resign. You can bet good money on that one.

If He resigns, as the OP posits, there will be no need for impeachment. Can't impeach him if he resigns.

You do realize that the chain of secession only works like that if they all resign at the same time. If Trump resigned Pence would become President and Pence would pick a VP to be confirmed by the Senate.

Yes, but Hatch is a close friend of that Russian spy, Jeff Sessions, and the investigation will certainly show that Sessions has been on the Kremlin payroll for decades. So clearly, the question to Hatch is what did he know and when did he know it. And the question to you is, how deep does this scandal have to be to get us to a President Calamity? And can you prove that you were not the real architect behind this entire cabal and orchestrated this entire thing just to get into power?

And Pence's support for Trump would all but guarantee that he would not be re-elected. Ala Nixon-Ford.

If Trump is illegitimate because the Russians and Comey helped him win - Pence is by nature illegitimate also as he was elected on the same ticket by the same vote process as Trump.

Except the Russians had nothing to do with Trumps victory. Hillary didn't lose because of the Podesta emails. It was Comeys letter to congress that did her in, not the Russians.

I agree, but rectifying that without probable cause is impossible. And, it might even be dangerous to the Republic. Best is Trump resigns, Pence and Ryan follow, and then Hatch becomes president.

Is that a new admission? I haven't seen any righties admit that before.

I agree that the Comey letter was significant and cost Clinton votes.

However, it is not rational nor a part of living in the real world to claim that major campaign events upon which the campaign is built and revolves around and occur each and every day for over a month in the most important days of the campaign do NOT impact votes or votes. To claim that they do renders campaigns, their events and the messages imparted there and through the media in covering them completely impotent and irrelevant and a waste of time, money, energy and effort. And that would put the big LIE to everything we know about campaign for office.

Since the Wikileaks message was indeed a major part of the last month of the Trump campaign, your claim is really not even rational.

If Trump resigns, the people should demand the same from Pence. If Trump is impeached, a public demand for a Pence resignation would depend on the articles and reasons for impeachment.

That's probably because you have been too immersed in Trump hatred to actually listen to what others say. Trump was in free fall after the ***** grabbing tape and his debate performances and Hillary was on her way to a comfortable win. Then Comey announced he was re-opening the investigation and that breathed new life into the Trump campaign.

Yes. But if you remember, the race had become 'whoever was in the news was losing.' That event took Trump off the stove and put Hillary on it

Well, I don't turn to you to define what is, and is not, rational but the Russia story cut both ways. Yes, some stories may have hurt Hillary, but Trump was being skewered daily back then as being in the pocket of Putin. Remember the debate moment where Hillary called Trump a puppet? Manafort was canned due to his ties to Russia and the issue dogged him the entire fall. As for the emails, not one was to or from Hillary and really did little to harm her. They embarrassed the DNC a bit and some low level staffers, but didn't really dent her campaign. Pretending that the Russians were a factor is what is not even rational.
