Pepper Spray

Rogue Valley is just upset that the Chemical Weapons Convention of 1993 banned CS gas specifically but not pepper spray.

Apparently he is not aware that pepper spray, or capsicum spray, is also bear spray. It is not something I would use, but many do. Pepper spray is an effective deterrent against a non-aggressive bear. It is completely ineffective against an aggressive bear, but they usually don't find out that part until they are presented with a Darwin Award.

Do you tote a big bore pistol for bears when you're out in the bushes?

I saw no proof at all that the Cops in DC used pepper spray on the violent protestors. Who has the video proof? Barr confirms no tear gas was used.

Gee thanks for the report on india.

If there was a military confrontation with India, would you suggest that the military planners just ignore those because they are not real weapons?

If Rabbits became elephants is tfhe line you are taking us to. From your report India has weaponized this.

When he confirmed that no tear gas was used it was because they used pepper balls instead. If Barr's word isn't good enough for you there's no use arguing with you.

The best deterrent that I found for bears, and considerably less rude than spraying them with pepper spray, are ladyfinger firecrackers. I keep a string of them in my tackle box. If a curious bear gets too close for comfort I will toss one or two firecrackers in their general direction. They are trying to be sneaky and the loud noise from the firecracker surprises them and they head back into the woods at a full run. Bear spray is for rude clueless pricks.

I do carry an AR-12 as my primary camp gun, and a .44 Mag for backup, but in the 29 years I have lived in Alaska, and the hundreds of bear encounters that I have had, I have never felt threatened or that my life was in danger by a bear. There were a couple of times when I considered shooting a moose in self-defense, but never a bear.

Chocolate candy is a chemical. Spray some in my mouth.

Talk to the criminal Barr who claims pepper's organic and not a chemical three times in one lying speech.

PepperBall say on their website that their system is a combination of "...accurate launchers and versatile, chemically effective projectiles... "

That so called detestable human being prosecuted the cops at LA who beat up Rodney King.

Great, so he did what his job required him to do at some point.

Now he's going on TV and smugly lying about tear gas and making a false distinction between pepper spray and other forms of tear gas, and ordering a park cleared so Trump can wave someone else's bible for the cameras at a photo op in front of a church he never attends, and by doing so we have the Attorney General sanctioning violent tactics against peaceful protesters breaking no laws which would seem to me part of a protected right in this country. So he's crapped on any principles he might have once held to defend that asshole Trump.

Do you really think what Barr (allegedly) ordered is how we envision this country, that shining beacon on a hill? If this was some tinpot dictatorship, there's a time we'd protest using violent tactics to clear peaceful protesters. Now we have the AG ordering just that.

I'd say it's shocking, but Barr is just a consigliere at this point - whatever it takes to defend his Boss. No one should be surprised he doesn't even nod to the constitutional rights of protesters in that case. What's worse is if Barr had just waited a half hour, everyone in that park was breaking the law by ignoring the curfew, and that would have given the police authority to legitimately clear the area. But Trump wanted his photo op with that Bible....so **** the 1A, says Barr.

I have seen video of police using pepper balls, using them on both the rioters and the law-breaking media. Pepper spray, or pepper balls, is not CS gas. CS gas was specifically banned by the 1993 Chemical Weapons Convention that went into effect in the US in 1997.

Whatever. The police are authorized to used whatever force is necessary to get control of a situation including deadly force if that's what's required. So consider yourselves lucky if they only use pepper spray.

All governments use the threat of violence to maintain control. All of them.

First of all, no, they are not allowed to use deadly force against peaceful protesters. That used to be a protected right in this county, but according to you, it's just a weak suggestion, and the police can kill people for engaging in this formerly protected activity.

Second, fine, they needed to use tear gas to clear a way for Trump's photo op with someone else's bible in front of a church he never attends. Just say that. No need to gaslight the public and lie about a non-distinction between the effect of the chemical in pepper spray or pepper balls, versus another chemical in "tear" gas. They have the same effect, so the difference is semantic and irrelevant to what HAPPENED.

No need to make stuff up. These canisters were found around Lafayette Park. Notice the tear gas canister labeled with "CS." Barr admits "tear gas" was used Sunday night, but denies that it was used to clear the way for Trump's photo op holding someone else's bible. Of course no one can trust a word that comes from his mouth, because he works for Trump and being able to shamelessly lie is a job requirement.

Last time I checked blocking traffic, destroying property (like burning the church down in DC), and violently attacking people were not considered "peaceful protesters." Those are examples of law-breaking rioters, and law enforcement is tasked with restoring order, enforcing the law, and ensuring the safety of the public. The First Amendment protects our right to "peacefully assemble" not to violently riot.

OK, so you concede the LEOs used CS gas that you said was banned for use in the U.S. and have moved the goal posts.

Can you show any evidence that before Barr's storm troopers started clearing the park for Trump's photo op walk to the church to hold someone else's bible for the cameras that the crowd was destroying property and violently attacking others? The accounts I've read was that before Barr ordered Lafayette park cleared, a half hour before curfew, that the protest was peaceful.

Consider the source. Using stock photos from last century proves nothing. No one in the US military or law enforcement has used CS gas since April 1997. However, pepper spray/balls has been widely used by both the military, law enforcement, and civilians.

Act like a jackass and get pepper sprayed. I support.

Pepper balls and a smoke canister was used. CS gas hasn't been used in the US this century.

What I actually saw was a large crowd blocking traffic without a police escort. That alone makes them law-breaking rioters. I also heard, but did not witness, that windows were being broken and there was looting before Trump crossed the park.

From the guy who invented pepper spray:

QUESTIONABLE SOURCE
A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for the purpose of profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact checked on a per article basis. Please note sources on this list are not considered fake news unless specifically written in the reasoning section for that source. See all Questionable sources.

Overall, we rate RT Questionable based on promoting pro-Russian propaganda, promotion of conspiracy theories, numerous failed fact checks and a lack of author transparency.

They're using CS gas right now: CS gas - Wikipedia.

Well, so far I have credible accounts of CS being used in 2020 as recently as last week, with photos that I can trace to vendors online, and baseless, evidence free claims by you.

If you want to somehow show your assertion is true, do it. I've looked and can find no reference to CS being banned for use in the United States.

The point is, Barr lied on national television 3 times regarding this.

He's getting as bad as Trump

Apparently he understands the legal definition. It is not normal to call food a chemical.

Pepper spray is not synonymous with a chili pepper.

C'mon, this is basic stuff. You failed high school chemistry?
