Patriotic Avatars

Having a patriotic avatar can indicate patriotism but I agree that’s a far cry from saying a patriotic avatar or bumper sticker or or lapel pin is patriotism in and of itself.

I will endorse that comment, probably truer than mine.

It's telling that you link a worthless "lean" setting in the user profile with patriotism. Clearly you're one of those people who thinks "patriotism means sharing my political beliefs, and no other"
No, not really. I respect individuals who proudly affirm their lean; I don't care if it's "very liberal", "independent", "socialist", "very conservative" or whatever. I assume by claiming "undisclosed" you feel you HAVE a leaning but for some reason you're hesitant to declare yourself. I consider myself a conservatarian with Classic Liberal overtones but that choice wasn't available so I picked "libertarian - right"

Leftists believe patriotism is racist.

I am glad that you qualified, and used the word, LEFTISTS. Some Democrats are leftists, not all leftists are Democrats but the former group of Democrats does confuse patriotism with racism. It's like white people can't be uber patriotic without being labeled, white nationalists, nativists, or equally offensive terms.

"Being patriotic" is not the part that triggers such a label.

I prefer people to judge me based what I write, not what some label tells them they should believe about me. You got a problem with that?

It's not clear why you quoted me. I wasn't talking about any forum members.

Oh :bs
You were stereotyping/maligning conservatives. Hell, many of us are DP forum members in case you haven't noticed.
But carry on with the back peddling.

Problem? no. Opinion? Yes, as I just expressed.

I wasn't talking to you but since you are again trying to tell conservatives what is wrong with how they think... you've done enough damage with this post reposted below, and probably should have stopped there...

I was just reading posts today and seemed to notice something I never noticed before. Maybe it's true and maybe it isn't. But, for those who lean right or are clearly right, I see a lot of patriotic avatars and I don't remember any patriotic avatars off the top of my head from anyone who leans left or are clearly left. I wasn't talking about screen names but avatars. Does anyone who leans left or are clearly left have a patriotic avatar? Anyone? To me this is some form of subliminal acknowledgement from the left that they would rather complain about our country rather than be proud of it. Anyone care to try to prove me wrong?

You should make your flag larger. Makes you more patriotic.

Yeah, it plays a lot into the generic symbolism and nationalist imagery the far right likes to rely on instead of well articulated thoughts and opinions.

I suppose you think the above is a well thought out opinion?

What delicious irony...

Leftists love their ideology more than the country.

i aways post while wearing my American flag lapel pin ... even when posting nude. does that count?

Humblepi is left and has a flag mural of some sort.

That brought a tear to me eye. I think I hear Toby Keith playing somewhere faintly in the background of this train wreck of a thread.

Any reason you aren't criticizing the person I was responding to?
