Patriotic Avatars

So, if we have an avatar with a flag on it compared to an avatar with Snoopy on it, you would argue that one is not more patriotic than the other? We're talking about avatars, not people.

You leave Snoopy the **** out of this.....thats my dog, yo...lol

I was not proven wrong. In fact, lefties, including you I believe, have agreed that more members on the right have patriotic avatars than do members on the left.

Yes you were you said no lefties had patriotic avatars, not who had more. I use the Texas flag and also my unit crest from the Korean DMZ, others have an American Eagle, hence you are wrong. Enough time wasted in this.....have fun.

Correct. Avatars are not patriotic. People can use avatars to appear patriotic, but the avatar itself is not.

LOL. I realize that we have a Mars/Venus thing going on here between the right and the left. The right believe a flag, national anthem, pledge of allegiance, etc are patriotic while those on the left believe that spitting on or burning the flag is patriotic, kneeling during the national anthem is patriotic, and refusing to say a pledge of allegiance or having it banned is what is patriotic.

Congratz, basically everything you said in that post is wrong. Maybe if you spent more time considering things other than how other people are poopieheads, you might be able to make a reasonable argument.

Sorry. I didn't realize you had come around to understanding that patriotism is all about showing love of country by standing for the flag and the anthem and showing respect for our country.

The definition of patriotism to them is having the right to thumb Uncle Sam in the face and having the right to stick their middle finger up at the flag.

Maybe you are beginning to understand what Freedom actually looks like

Unfortunately, you guys just can't understand that patriotism is love of country, including it's flags and anthems. When you watch the Olympics, every country shows respect for their flags and anthems. Nobody is thumbing their nose or kneeling.

I was just reading posts today and seemed to notice something I never noticed before. Maybe it's true and maybe it isn't. But, for those who lean right or are clearly right, I see a lot of patriotic avatars and I don't remember any patriotic avatars off the top of my head from anyone who leans left or are clearly left. I wasn't talking about screen names but avatars. Does anyone who leans left or are clearly left have a patriotic avatar? Anyone? To me this is some form of subliminal acknowledgement from the left that they would rather complain about our country rather than be proud of it. Anyone care to try to prove me wrong?

Meh, to me it seems more like the fundie Christians that insist they have proof that God exists and must convince everyone else of it, while God Himself only asked that we believe on faith.

So if your faith isnt strong enough, you need to flash around some imagined proof. Same with patriotism...if yours is weak, maybe you feel the need to prove it "to others."

(edit: speaking to a universal 'you.')
