Nfl 2020

Don't know much about Rams OL, but absolutely have to be able to protect Stafford and run the ball well enough. So improve OL and maybe add TE or WR for Stafford. Maybe Higbee is fine at TE. Wonder what their salary cap outlook is for next season?

He will likely be a significant improvement over Goff. Guy is a B- QB at best.

Isn't Goff like ten years younger and without the injury history Stafford has?

John Matthew Stafford[1] (born February 7, 1988)

Jared Thomas Goff[1] (born October 14, 1994)

Ok, 6 years.

Give me an uninjured QB in his mid-twenties over a plus-thirty walking-wounded dude any day.

BTW, his resume is way better than Matt's.
Goff oversaw further improved fortunes for the Rams in 2018, which saw the team earn a trip to Super Bowl LIII, the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance since 2001. He also received Pro Bowl honors in both seasons.

LOL! Isn't this the same QB that couldn't get his team in the endzone against the Patriots?

Goff has been REALLY BAD since that SB. Very average QB.

According to sources, Matt Stafford was open to being traded to ANY team but New England.

Think McVay was frustrated with Goff. Too many turnovers and maybe felt Goff limited what he could call offensively.

Playing in Detroit can take the fight out of a lot of players. Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders decided to retire instead of playing for the Lions.

I can see the logic in that.

Well, at any rate, we'll finally be able to find out if Stafford any good.

As a casual fan anymore, Stafford has never impressed me...........I don’t know what he was working with in Detroit,TBH.

Matt Patricia for a couple of years. That's enough to give Strafford the benefit of doubt..
Stafford was in Detroit longer than Patricia, he’s no spring chicken....eleven years a Lion.

Like the trade for both teams. Fortune favors the bold. Rams want to win now and Detroit needs to rebuild. One factor of deal is Rams dump the worse contract.

Apparently, multiple teams were offering their first-round pick for Stafford. Washington offered their first-round pick and a player.

Stafford was in HIGH DEMAND.

Lions have a long tradition of being bad. IMO the NFL should have replaced them on the Thanksgiving day game 20 years ago..

They are the NFC's version of the Jets.

Browns. Browns and Lions are the only 2 teams that have been members if the NFL since the Super Bowl era began, and have never been to one.

It's fair to ask if Stafford is worth what was given based on his age, but most experts believe he's the better talent right now.

Rams had to pay for Stafford and to get out from under Goffs contract.
This is one of those trades you'll have to wait a few years to determine who got the better deal. Hoping it works out well for both.

Funny, but Goff cost to Rams four #1 picks. 2 to draft him and 2 to get rid of him.
True, it's obvious Rams don't view 1st round draft picks as sure things. Wentz seems to be in the same boat as Goff. "What have you done for me lately"?

Whoever was managing their cap space screwed up big time by giving Jared Goff, Brandin Cooks AND Todd Gurley big contracts.

Luckily they have a solid coaching staff. Goff looked TERRIBLE under Jeff Fisher.

I know the bears were trying, but the price was too high because the Lions didn’t want to trad egg in their division.
