Nfl 2020

Lions already trying to trade Matt Stafford. Would love to see him on a team like LA or Denver.
He probably would too.

Watson... Strafford... Maybe Rodgers on the market.. This offseason is going to be fun.

of the three, who do you find to be the most desirable?
Rodgers would fit perfectly in NE.

Watson could go anywhere and do well.

Stafford is a tougher fit.

Not much of a fan any longer, but I would say that Watson has more of an up side than the other two......

i asked because it looks like the local panthers are going to make a pass at a QB free agent after recognizing bridgewater was a failed experiment. watson is the name most frequently mentioned, but partially because the rodgers and stafford being available was not known when the coach started displaying indicators teddy was not a long term prospect

I never understood Matthew Stafford’s allure. He came out about the same time that the guy who went to St Louis, later to Philly and Minnesota, Bradford, iirc. Bradford was a Heisman winner, iirc.

Rodgers is too vain, a trait needed for a pro QB, but......

Rodgers...

But here's another fun fact this offseason. There's what? 3-4 supposedly ready to start college QB's in this year's draft.... So if you're lets say the Jets... Do you draft a QB? Or trade the 2nd pick, and other picks for Rodgers or Watson? Gonna be a fun offseason..

Hey...what are the odds Jimmie Garrapalo ends up back in New England this next year?

I guess it's true.

I just read that Watson signed an extension at the beginning of last year making him the highest paid QB behind Mahomes. I am not sure Deshaun is worth Mahomes type money.

On April 28, 2020, the Texans exercised the fifth-year option on Watson's contract.[111] On September 5, 2020, Watson signed a four-year, $177.5 million[112] contract extension with the Texans with $111 million in guarantees, keeping him under contract through the 2025 season.[113] This was the second biggest contract in NFL history after Patrick Mahomes' contract.

But, I can see him wanting out of Houston. That team sucks, going 4-12 with the most prolific passer in the league.

Watson's 2020 season was by all major statistical measures the best in franchise history, leading in passing touchdowns, passing yards, and passer rating.[127] Watson led the NFL in passing yards for the 2020 season. He became the first player to lead the league in passing yards on a team with at least 12 losses since Jeff George of the Oakland Raiders in 1997.

He's not worth the money he's getting. And that's going to come into play. If a team is desperate enough to get him, they'll pay him. If no one is willing to pay him that much, and he wants out of Houston then a deal will have to be made. Or he can sit out ala Bell. But Bell wasn't under contract, Watson is..

I'm hearing this morning the Texans have been trying hard to contact him, but he's not returning their calls. If he wants out of Houston that badly he might have to make some concessions..

He's a real charming guy, ain't he?
I guess that is a really clear example of what happens when a brain misfires. Dude went from, "Bow or I will kill you. Look, I'll show you." to "Oh, man. I am soo ****ing sorry. Sorry. Did I tell you how sorry I am?" in like two minutes flat.

What a disaster for the Rams.

If they had traded Goff after his second year, they would have got two or three first-round picks for him.

Now they have to give up two first-round picks just to get rid of him!

The Lions get much-needed resources. They can probably trade Goff to Washington for picks too.

Happy to see Matt Stafford in LA. He and Clayton Kershaw are good buddies.

Think you're right about the Lions end of the deal considering they weren't going to win anything with Stafford anyways. Will have to convert the draft picks into something useful, not always a sure thing. Getting Goff atleast gives them a QB for next season, unless you're right and gets flipped in another trade.

Rams must believe they have a window with how good their Defense is to get to the SB with an improved Offense. Don't believe Stafford alone will be enough, but McVay I'm sure believes he can now open up his playbook with Stafford at QB. Two first rounds and a 3rd is a heavy price if it doesnt payoff.

If they can keep their defense and offensive weapons in-tact and can improve their offensive line, the Rams could very well be legit SB contenders next year. Stafford has the arm strength and ability to exploit the strength of the rcvrs they currently have and really open up the offense.

Don't know much about Rams OL, but absolutely have to be able to protect Stafford and run the ball well enough. So improve OL and maybe add TE or WR for Stafford. Maybe Higbee is fine at TE. Wonder what their salary cap outlook is for next season?
