I can't argue with that. There are lots of jobs that require us to tone it down while on the clock. In fact, almost all of them. Can't work for ESPN and spout like Curt Schilling. CAn't preach vegetarian while working the counter at McDonalds. Hell, ya can't even be president and say stupid crap without your poll numbers falling like a rock and start seeing your own party suddenly punching you in the face.

We have free speech, but not speech free of consequences.

Does anyone think that the current formula for compensation of professional athletes is sustainable? Example:
Player x is up for a new contract, he has played well and achieved all of the bonus clauses of his current contract. He plays, lets say linebacker. Player y plays for another team, also at linebacker. He signed a new contract two years ago. At the time of signing, player y was the highest paid player at linebacker. Player x wants to be the highest paid linebacker. Where does this stop? In private business one of the most closely guarded pieces of information is peer compensation. How much can stadiums charge for a beer, before the fans start staying away? I understand that the major money comes from the broadcast rights, but to me, this model is bound to collapse. Thoughts?

Ryan Tannehill injured his left leg and Kapernick's name was raised as a potential replacement.

The salary cap controls player costs in the aggregate, but your point about costs to fans is worth consideration. Personally, I have concluded football is best watched on my big screen TV in my own home, and I don't think I'm the only one who has reached that conclusion.

I'm very disappointed the Steelers extended Tomlin.. He needed to be fired 2-3 years ago.

The only coach who should have been fired 2-3 years ago in that division is coaching the Bengals.

I disagree. The Steelers are a team that needs discipline. Tomlin's not guy. The Defense has been bad for years, the whole team takes useless, stupid penalties at the worse times. Often they seem more worried about celebrating then winning. Antonio Bwown is out of control. They re-upped Brown, that's fine. But they need someone to control him, as the end of last year proved Tomlin is not that guy.

lol...you think the Steelers are bad at the bolded, try being a Bengals fan.

Well, that's doesn't mean the Steelers aren't guilty of that too. You're a Bengals fan who wants Lewis fired for the same reasons I want Tomlin fired.

Yes the Bengals have a Rep of being undisciplined. The Steelers never had that Rep, until recently.

Cutler is a Dolphin, interesting.

Cutler is a Dolphin, interesting.

And the Dolphins best WR is under investigation for battery.

I relish Cutler starting against the Patriots. Could be a field day for our secondary.

You have kept that information secretive. What team do you root for?

Depends on who is playing. I don't have a team per say, but I do live close to Cincinnati. Not that I grew up around here or anything. So, my loyalty to them is about 4 losses in before I look toward Denver or someone like Pittsburgh. This year, maybe Tampa Bay. Last year I was hoping for the Pack.

Well thats gonna hurt the Cowboys for sure. I wonder what Jerry Jones will do.

Read the letter the NFL sent to Elliot. Damning, very damning. It might get shortened to 4 games, but not less.

And reports are Jerry is furious. LOL.. Hypocrite Jerry releases Whitehead even though that was a case of mistaken identity in a SHOP LIFTING case.. Elliott who beat a woman and lifted her shirt in a public place, he shows no respect for women but Jerry was so PO'ed at Whitehead for shop lifting, and it wasn't even Whitehead doing the shop lifting that he released Whitehead. The Boys can't have people like Whitehead on their team, but Elliot is OK? lol

What an A'hole.

And the NFL put the douchbag in the HOF. Lay down with dogs...

He should be suspended the entire year. That's what the Cowboys get for drafting someone like that. Red flags were everywhere and Cowboys wasted a pick on an unstable young O.J Simpson like personality.

Cough, cough, Aarons Hernandez, cough, cough.

You are comparing a 4th round pick with a top 5 pick.

You have said some stupid **** over the years and this just fits right in.

Last time I checked, Tom Brady was a 6th round pick.

Aaron Hernandez was a first-round talent we got in the 4th round. The reward outweighed the risk.

Ezkeiel Elliot was a top ten talent in a position that is devalued in the NFL.
