New York cop killer released from prison given right to vote under new Cuomo policy

His 2nd amendment too, right?
He’s probably been in prison getting trained by more criminals and y’all just want to open your arms to him and not even see how he does in the free world. Could y’all get any stupider.

If we want to talk about how and for how long we sentence for crimes then that is one thing, but it sounds like what you are wanting is someone to serve time and once released still not really be a citizen.

A quote should support your opinion. Its a debate forum. Every thread should start with original content to stir debate.

Okay, well since you can't read, I don't think we have much else to discuss.

I can read. I was just asking you to elaborate on your "i agree". So we could have a debate. Isnt that why youre here?

I said I agreed and then provided...

Dianne Piagentini, in the interview with Fox News, stressed that Bell was “tried and convicted” and given “25 years to life” in prison.

“He’s doing it for votes,” Piagentini said. “He did it right before the Democratic convention.”

Cuomo’s announcement came in the run-up to the New York Democratic Convention. Cuomo is seeking a third term as governor of New York, campaigning against former “Sex and the City” star Cynthia Nixon in the gubernatorial primary.

He paid for his crimes, so why don’t you think he should get his gun privilege, y’all are saying he’s been in prison for years around other bad criminals, so he must be a model citizen now, prison make great citizens, don’t most that get out end up back in prison

I didn't say he was a "model citizen" that was you, but the key word is citizen, so it gets to vote. If it has been convicted of a violent crime no guns, because I don't want to shoot it like dog in the street, nor would I want to put anybody else in that situation.

Just thinking on behalf of my fellow man.

Someone elses words. Use your own. "I agree with this quote" is not a debate.

Wow, arrogant much? What I quoted encompassed all that was necessary to say, that you have an issue with it, is a you problem, not a me problem.

Its a you problem because you started the thread. Read the rules.

I see, well please take it up with the mods. See the little triangle !? Use it. Report me, explain how I did not meet your view of the Rules and demand action. I'll be here waiting for the chastisement from the mods if you are correct.

Many do, and the many reasons recidivism rates are so high are exactly what's being discussed in this thread.

For example:

...They were given a sentence and served it. All of the things that are forever taken as a result, gun ownership, the right to vote and get certain licenses, etc., constitute a life sentence. You pay for the rest of your life. Its wrong.

It also makes finding employment and housing nearly impossible. Under the current system, unless they have a lot of wealth, they're basically set up for failure from the get go.

We have the highest prison population in the world... Maybe the problem is our own 'rehabilitation' system?

No need. We're adults. Feel free at any point to actually post something substantive as to why you opened this thread and we can have a debate. Because its a debate forum. If you just want to post likes, try facebook.

If you served your time, why shouldn't you be able to vote? You are free? How is it even constitutional to deny released felons who did their time the right to vote?
