National Straight Pride Coalition refused permit to march

What about his post is "socialist"? It's completely accurate, and why the nonsense about "why can't straight people get a parade", is a bull**** statement that ignores the substantial discrimination that people like me have had to face for decades, and in many places, continue to experience to this day. Now, I wouldn't deny them the ability to march, personally. I say let the racist, homophobic idiots be idiots.

Why not? So long as no one's getting (physically) hurt, I don't really care, since the vast majority of this country are straight, while the homosexual and transgender communities only make up 5% of the country. If 5% can enjoy and being happy about their lifestyle, why isn't it okay for the other 95% to be happy about their's? Seems pretty un-American to me, to even think that. So instead of complaining, let these guys practice their Constitutional rights.

I agree. Whyever bigots want to wake up early and walk down a hot street is not a concern of mine, but I guarantee that none of the keyboard warriors in this thread actually have anything to do with it.

Once again, as has been pointed out numerous times, LGBT people have had to (and continue to) endure discrimination on so many levels in society. It wasn't that long ago where gay marriage wasn't legal. We don't live in a vacuum, and it's clearly obvious why gay pride is generally much more accepted than straight pride.

It's a buzz word because corrupt media sources made it one. In the real world, it's a real word with an actual meaning. Socialism is a political philosophy that has been defined and refined for decades. Imprecisity in language is an embarassment and permeates most of our conversations.

Hell the trans panic defense is still a legal defense. Nobody could get away with beating a straight person and citing straight panic.

I agree... but I generally counter that there is not so much a privilege to being white as there is a privilege to having money, and more of it. But the core of the White Privilege argument today is about America being a nation of systemic racism with white people benefiting and at the same time denying that it exists, because at the core white people are racist.
