Major League Baseball 2019

Looks like Snell has bounced back from getting crushed game 1. Struck out 8 of first 11 batters against the Rockies.

Edit: My preason pick of WS rematch between TB and Phillies is looking good so far :)

I doubt anyone needs to read a book to learn that the 1986 Mets were NOT a bunch of choirboys. From top to bottom they were not the type of guys a daughter would want to bring home to meet her parents.

That said it was probably because they were that wild and undisciplined that they were maybe the most wasted talent in the history of sports. That team should have made the playoffs 10 straight years and won 3-4 WS.

Stupid Nats baserunning mistakes and ongoing bullpen failures nearly gave today's game away.
But the Phillies' bullpen was even worse: single and three walks in the bottom of the 9th to walk in the Nats' winning run.

And deGrom was deGrom yet again. Damn he's good. And the bigger story is the Mets scored some runs for him tonight.. But of course the Mets bullpen made it interesting..

I think a DP poster is on Twitter:

Jack you and I realize that neither of our teams are going to do **** this year unless their bullpens straighten out. Today's game was a wild 1 only because, right now, both bullpens really stink.

Whining? Nah.. Been a Mets fan since '62'.. I've seen a bunch of good Met starters who had NO support from their BP's(see deGrom last year).. I will give them credit though, this off-season they went out and did spend some bucks to shore up the BP.. But BP's are a crap-shoot, so so far I see the same old, same old.

You guys want Familia? lol

I had to leave for a social event at 3-3.

If you told me the Dbacks offense would be this good without Goldschmidt, Pollock, and Souza I would have said you were crazy.

Oh no.. I've been married long enough to know the Mrs. is always right, even if she's wrong... ;)

I've been married going on 27 years now and the two words that got me here is "yes dear."

This has to be one of the worst batting slumps I have ever seen: Orioles''' Davis nearing MLB record with 0-for-40 hitless streak | theScore.com

Maybe the worse signing in the history of bseball.

The 33-year-old Davis turned in one of the worst seasons in MLB history last year when he slashed .168/.243/.296 for the 115-loss Orioles. His most recent hit - a second-inning double off Chicago White Sox pitcher James Shields - was recorded Sept. 14.

Davis signed a seven-year, $161-million contract with Baltimore before the 2016 season. The Orioles owe him $92 million over the next four years, $42 million of which is deferred and will be paid out in installments through 2037

He should take the high road by asking the Orioles for a buy-out, and then retire.
