Major League Baseball 2019

The Dbacks and Philly's combined for 13 home runs tonight. A new MLB record.

Just back from Las Vegas, saw the Aviators (AAA) at their new park in Summerlin. Home team down 10 - 1, won 11 - 10. I think there were 5 or 6 HR's. Most over 400 feet. Eric Campbell (former Met) hit one 450 ft. Some guy hit one 470. Granted it was really dry with some wind but its getting pretty easy to hit HR's. One guy hit one foul down the left field line but it went way out of the stadium. Great game anyway.

I have a feeling something (or someone) might be juiced, but it might not be the ball ;)

I'm of the opinion the players should be allowed to take as many steroids as they want, this will really open up the offense on every team

Pitchers throwing 110, into the 8th. Then the reliever comes in throwing 112! LOL

With the Phillies falling apart, it's become kind of a boring MLB season. The only tight race at the moment is in the NL Central, where the Cubs are playing just good enough to stay a half-game ahead of the Brewers (both teams under .500 over the last 10 games). St Louis sees hope and may seize the opportunity.

Yanks have the Rays less than 5 back, but I doubt that will turn into an actual race. The rest of the league is already a joke: LA up 13! wtf?

Good Morning to only those teams that have 50 wins.

The Yankees are now in the club.

It looks like we are looking at a Yankees Dodgers WS. If The Dodgers lose, that will be 3 straight WS losses. Could be the Bills of MLB.

Mlb attendance is down, even the Red Sox who won the WS last year saw a decline.

Although it is impressive what the Rays and Twins are doing.

Twins, Houston and Dodgers would be huge stories if anyone really cared about the baesbal anymore.

IMO, BB does not translate well to TV. It's a radio sport or go the the game activity. Watching it on TV is just an opportunity for napping.

BTW: did he Red Sox win it last year? I totally blanked that out.

We'll have to disagree, although I agree baseball is the best sport to see in person.

Especially if you attend a game at Coors Field and get a seat facing west looking towards the Rocky Mountains. The best is when the sun is setting. The views are absolutely stunning.

I'd like to see that sometime. Best in my experience is in San Francisco.

10 guys on the field
7 stand around
1 squats
2 are engaged in an epic battle between a man hurling 100-mile per hour fastballs and a guy with a bat.

Seriously, how many hours of that can the mind stand before it becomes bored to tears?

I can watch it every day, for hours. Those seven guys don't "stand around." They are moved and repositioned constantly, depending on the pitcher, hitter and game situation. And when there are runners on base it becomes like 3D chess. It is the best sport.

I'll see your picture and raise you this one

Done that, want to do it again, right field, once walked the stadium every half inning, very cool, in any stadium,

Fireworks incoming over center field at Mile-High in the old days were breathtaking.

Let's play two!

Runners on base--one out of every three guys with the bat, if you're lucky.

Well said. The problem with baseball is that its a acquired taste; like a good wine or a good cigar. Once one acquires that taste, however, all the other sports are relegated to time filling status: something to do to pass the time between the World Series and opening day.

Coors is just a great baseball stadium.... few in its class (I have been to about 20)...
