Sure, you can rail about the Republicans not being impartial, but what about the Democrats? They certainly aren’t impartial either. They’re trouncing at the bit to vote guilty for removal. Their minds already made up before the trial begins. So too, the Republicans. Neither side can be impartial. Not when approximately 90% of democrats are in favor of impeachment and removal vs. 90% of Republicans against.

This is nothing new, during Bill Clinton’s trial each senator had already made up their mind also before the trial began. No impartiality there either. There may be two, three, four senators that will weigh the evidence given, then decide which way to vote. But for the rest, minds are closed to whatever evidence is given, their vote pre-determined ahead of time. For the rest, presenting evidence and witnesses is irrelevant, Republican and Democratic.

In our polarized and ultra-high partisan political world, we live in, it’s no surprise one side can’t see their side isn’t impartial at all, but expects the other side to be.

The thing is you can't take the partisanship out of politics, impeachment is a political process. The idea of any senator, representative for that matter or pretty much members of each major party being impartial is a pipe dream. The huge difference between Bill Clinton's impeachment and Trump's is the facade of impartiality has been dropped. Both parties, sides had their lines drawn in the sand before the beginning of impeachment in both. Only the facade of impartiality in the hearings and senate trial was preserved during Bill's and not during Trump's.

Nixon's probably was the only impeachment where quite a lot of representatives and senators were digging for the truth. His wasn't a strictly a one party affair. Then again, Nixon's took place in an entirely different era of politics. We didn't have the polarization or the ultra-high partisanship we have today. Cooperation between parties was more the norm than the automatic opposition we have today.

McConnell claiming to be in "lock step" with the WH and Graham claiming he is GOING to stick his head in the sand as opposed to even participating as a Juror in the Senate. I fully expect him to show up wearing headphones, listening to Rush Limbaugh tapes. Would it not be better for Trump if these two idiots claimed that they were taking the process seriously and then voted NO on Removal?

Of course it would be better for Trump and for the Country. That leaves us with one conclusion to draw. They are literally trolling the entire country in their overzealous interpretation of what DonDon, Bozo the President wants.

So frankly, supporters of these two Senators and others of their ilk need to make a decision, policy aside and platforms aside. You can clearly find other politicians that will support Trump wholeheartedly and endorse the current Trumpian [surely not Republican] agenda but that WILL NOT troll the entire country in the process. Why wasn't an investigation of the Biden's, Burisma or CrowdStrike asked of Ukraine as a "favor to us" in 2018? Why in 2018, was there no urgent need of Trump or Rudy Giuliani to ask Petro Poroshenko to 'clean up corruption' in Ukraine? There was no hold up of military aid in 2018 in order to "ask a favor though", none at all. Wasn't Trump concerned about Joe Biden and his "corruption" in 2018?

I really wish someone could come up with a logical answer to this question. I thought maybe you could?
