Welsh Celtic sounds smooth to my ears.....but German?

Every time I hear German it sounds like they are pissed off at the world.

I've always loved Aramaic.

Really puts me in the mood for supporting late-term abortion.

Ahhhh.... Like most people, I've always appreciated the beauty of the "romance languages". Among them, are 2 of the loveliest of all the romance languages, Germanic and Icelandic.... Plus there's the benefit of Icelandic words being so easy to pronounce! Let's all say it together, "Eyjafjallajökull"!!

OK!

Eyjafjallajökull - Eyjafjallajökull - Eyjafjallajökull

It's easy! :2wave:

I've learned how to pronounce that word, which is the name of an Icelandic volcano. I watched a YouTube pronunciation video. But...... I have had to return to that video several times, as I keep forgetting its proper pronunciation. It's NOT an easy one to remember!

Sign language.

Uh, Romance languages derive from Latin. French, Spanish Portuguese, those are the Romance languages. As opposed to Germanic and Nordic and Celtic languages.

It would depend on who is speaking it.

How attractive or unattractive a language is completely depends on who is speaking it, and what they are speaking.

This is what American English sounds like to Italians who don't speak the language.

I beg to differ.

Imagine - you hear somebody speaking on the radio, in a foreign language.
And you do not know who is speaking and about what is spoken.
Maybe you do not even recognize which language is spoken.

And still some languages may seem pleasant to you - and others not.

Really??? You can tell a scotsman by their accent. You can tell an american by their accent or an italian or a greek or an irish or an english or an australian. But you cannot tell a kiwi from their accent?

Or am i wrong here? You cannot even tell the difference between all these accents?
I have a hard time between Kiwi and Aussie - they sound the same to me. One Kiwi told me to sound Australian -“just plug your Nose and swear.”

True, if you want to here the english language being butchered just talk to an australian.

I prefer the "romance languages", epitomized by the soft, flowing, passionate sounds of Germanic, Icelandic and Hebrew vocalizations! Of course they all pale in comparison to the beautiful, inspirational, universally popular and modern language of my ancestors, Gaelic! But if they didn't exist, I'd choose English, BUT with the proper Brooklyn accent....
