Eh. It's possible, I suppose. I will admit that the actress in the commercial does show an awful lot of leg. I just don't think there was enough focus on her to really view such alleged "sexualization" as being the main focus of the commercial. I also - speaking plainly here - didn't really find the actress in question attractive enough.
Like I said, she basically looks like a gawky, awkward kid. She's hardly a "bombshell," or teenage sex bomb (and trust me, if they'd wanted to go in that direction, it's hardly like there's any shortage of actresses game for the part).
Frankly, even besides that, your argument here would kind of have to assume that the main target demographic for this ad was intended to be Caucasian men old enough to actually have a familiar sexual response to teenaged girls dressed in that manner. Such men would be in their 60s or 70s at least in this day and age.
Do you really think that is the case?********************************************************************************************
Most definitely that is the case.
You do not have to be an "old man in his 60's or 70's" to recognize the sexuality of the typical stereotyped high school girl wearing the short pleated skirt, the bobby sox, the Susie Q black shoes and the pony tail.
Have her chewing some gum and holding a few textbooks and the look is complete.
Remember the music video "Centerfold"? There are much more examples to choose from too with that same reoccurring theme.
That VERY CLASSIC image is so popular they even make Halloween costumes resembling it.
KFC knows that, and that is why they chose to dress their model up that way too.
It is sexy, damned provocative, and caused quite a nice reaction.
What about those of us without an inner pervert?
We ALL have an inner pervert.
Some are more in touch with it than others, but we ALL have one.
That dark dirty little place we go where we keep our most taboo of desires.
That little forbidden shoebox we keep stashed away in the top of the closet of our minds that holds all of those really good thoughts and needs, we sometimes are a bit afraid to even tell ourselves they are there.
Speak for yourself.

I really didn't see what you "saw".
I am a billion times more intrigued by "Lily" from the AT&T commercials.
The librarian look perhaps?

I saw this tonight, and was kinda surprised are my "reaction" to it.
What is it about lots of leg, pleated skirts, & bobby sox, that ...... never mind.
I am now curious just how long this commercial airs before the feminists shut it down.
I am also curious how many liars will say they had no reaction to this.
You don't watch much TV, do you.
At least in this one the female is an entire person (she even has opinions!), not just a floating, dismembered body part, as if often the case. That's progress I suppose. Honestly, the only thing about this I'm unsure about is that they're playing out a sexual innuendo between a parent and a child. That's a bit... weird.
At any rate, "feminists" don't own television, and we aren't controlling your media. We have a right to complain if we want to, and companies have a right to decide whether or not they will listen. Yes, the world is slowly becoming less sexist. Sorry that bothers you so much.
Also, if you were thought of as floating dismembered body parts, as much in life as on TV, you might have a problem with it too. Empathy for others who live different life circumstances than you do: try it.
And lastly, that look doesn't do anything for me. Partly because it's associated with... ya know... minors and children. But this might be a generational thing.
Whatever trips your trigger, dude; my dad won't shut up about the '50s, either.
But that big of a reaction to it IS pretty much confined to your generation. You can make pretty much anything sexy, as the aforementioned Halloween costumes show, but just normal bobby socks, skirts, and sweaters? A little too June Cleaver for me.
I used to have a big thing for Reese Witherspoon. But when she got all poodled up in "Pleasantville," it all disappeared for me.
Well, that does it. I will NEVER understand men. She's made up to be kinda homely. Hey....did you read some of the COMMENTS?? And even from our own RetiredNSmilin?? Unbelievable!! Lololol!
if you lived their it all one before.

Terrible, absolutely terrible. Just look at all those "implications".
Sex should never be used to promote goods.

Lately KFC is one of the slow kids in class with ever changing dumb ideas on how to become cool, which they throw themselves into completely.
They should fix their chicken and cut their prices.
A note on MSG: A number of readers have asked how much MSG to use in the recipe we published. Although KFC has confirmed that its present-day recipe uses MSG, that ingredient was not part of the list of herbs and spices we received from the Colonel's nephew, so we didn't include MSG in our published recipe. But we did taste the fried chicken with a sprinkle of MSG. If you want to try it, we suggest doing as we did: Sprinkle a little on the finished chicken pieces right before eating.
