Kathy Griffin Is Both Hillary Clinton And Donald Trump

right, because 96 months of steady growth is "intolerable" after the worst recession in 100 years.

How old are you? Have you ever heard of this thing call the Depression? It encompassed the 1930's, and only ended with the start of WWII. That was @ 85 years ago.

As to steady growth, I would guess there have been 100's of articles written stating Obama's recovery had been the worst/slowest since the Depression.

Yes, this is the slowest U.S. recovery since WWII - Oct. 5, 2016

Report: Worst economic recovery since 1930s, salaries fall $17,000 short

Any publicity is good publicity. You are giving her more attention, right?

Did Trump not teach you anything?

Sounds like his whining about (fill in the blank) is after him.

Did you even read my post? Griffin herself whines that her career is over. She was fired from CNN, many of her appearances were cancelled, and advertisers and endorsements have been cancelled, and you say that any publicity is good publicity? Ask Tiger Woods if he thinks that is true.

Just jumping in.

Is it not crazy that we, as a country, seemed more concerned about the slow recovery than the actual recession.

Simply put, GOP controlled white house as recession began were able to run, in part, on the recovery being too slow.

What else should people be concerned about? The recovery was widely reported as the slowest since the Great Depression. It would be foolish not to run for office not using this fact.

Trump didn't win because of his track record of governing. He won because people liked him. People liking him doesn't make him for for the presidency. And I've never mentioned Comey's name.

One of the reasons Trump won was because he DIDN'T have a track record of governing. People in both parties are sick of the establishment and Democrats in three blue states voted for him because they lost their higher paying manufacturing jobs and didn't want to work at Walmart, not even for $15 per hour. Hillary & Co did their very best to make people NOT like Trump by running constant negative ads about how horrible a person Trump was but voters saw through the shallowness of that establishment quest for power. The election was also about the Supreme Court and the second ammendment, no matter how much some of those voters detested Trump and the left responds to those voters by calling them racists and bigots.

Short memory because the party in charge when the recession started has been rewarded because of this narrative.

I find it strange that we more easily forgive the party that "caused" the problem than the one that struggled to fix the problem.

Twisted memory. There were many causes for the recession, and both parties are to blame.

Tolerating 8 years of poor results, and asking voters to continue on the same path, or try something different was the bottom line question. Voters answered the question.

Wait and see,

She will bounce back. Definitely.

Others doing similar things on both sides have bounced back but I'm not so sure in her case. Michael Richards never really survived his bout of slip of the tongue and he tried his best to dig himself out. Right now Kathy Griffin is doubling down on her stupidity. Doubling down on a negative just gives you twice the negative. She needs to keep her mouth shut, disappear, take a real long vacation, and then try clawing herself back up. She can do it if she sincerely accepts responsibility for her mistake. So far, doubling down shows she hasn't really accepted responsibility.

Which would be akin to me stating the true fact that I have never ever been accused of, sued for, or committed any medical malpractice or injuring a single patient in the last fifty years and using that to pretend that I could now be a doctor.

But was Michael Richards even out there after Seinfeld? When I heard of his outburst....I did not even know he was even out there anymore. Small appearences and comedy clubs. He had already all but fizzled out.

Griffen clearly was still active.

You are comparing apples to car tires. People don't trust the media. People don't trust politicians. They voted for "none of the above", which happened to be Trump. It is both party's faults that the electorate felt that way in the first place. The left is crossing their fingers and hoping beyond all hope that after a Trump presidency the electorate will be begging the establishment to come back. I wouldn't count my chickens. People may wind up being against Trump in another election but they still don't want the establishment back. I think whichever party runs with a 35 year old will win the next presidency.

No - what i am doing is exposing the fiction that government service - particularly the highest office in the land and the pinnacle of the pyramid of political power - is not a skilled speciality which should be entrusted to people who demonstrate and ability to excel in it.

The ludicrous stupidity that anybody can be president and having no experience at all in the field is somehow looked upon by the ignorant as an asset must be exposed as an incredible invocation of ignorance and folly.

It's quite sad that people voted for Trump because they thought he was not part of the establishment.

OK. I'll give you that but my point still stands. If she shuts up, takes a long vacation, and tries to make a comeback she can probably do it. If she keeps doubling down on stupidity she will continually get twice as stupid.

Typically the President is held accountable when their is a recession.

Our forefathers set up a voting system with few qualifications needed for the job, expecting the electorate to decide if someone is qualified for the job or not. If you want the system changed then you need to work on changing the system. Good luck with that. As I said, it was BOTH party's fault that the electorate got to the point they felt they way they did and that is what needs changing. Both parties have let the country down to the point we now have Trump president. If BOTH parties don't learn from this last election then they aren't listening.

I will agree she would have been in a much better place if she did quiet down for a little while after her apology. People would have been more sympathic if she explained her position once things quieted down rather than have her start blaming the Trumps.

I'll agree with that. But, as I told haymarket, it is BOTH party's fault that the electorate felt that way in the first place.

It is the grand debate isn't it?

Does bad policy adopted in a previous administration become the fault of the next?

Do results from a previous administration finally showing up in the next be cause for congratulations, even though the next administration had nothing to do with the original action?

Like I said in the OP, I was quite impressed with her immediately taking responsibility and owning up to the fact that she went too far. Then she went rabid. I'm actually quite forgiving on these things but whenever someone on the right has said something stupid, the left wants that person tarred and feathered and destroyed for life.

Let's just say while I agree on the first part, I disagree on the second.

I have to admit at first I was very impressed with Kathy Griffin immediately apologizing for the stunt holding Trump's beheaded head, admitting that she crossed the line and went too far. I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she was actually sincere and not looking out for number one. Unfortunately, the lefty returned to her liberal roots in basically retracting her apology when saying that she now wants to exercise her right to free speech. What happened to her apology for going too far? At first she took full responsibility for what she did and then she pulled a Hillary in not accepting responsibility. Then, to top it all off, she says that Trump and his family are bullying her, after she is the one who bullied Trump by carrying around his beheaded head. Does the left hypocrisy ever run dry?

I don't think it's fair to tar all the left with the Kathy Griffin brush.

But she is one of those of the snowflake category--a sense of entitlement that allows anything at all to be said or done to anybody who is on the 'unrighteous' side of the sociopolitical spectrum, i.e. anybody who is not liberal. Because of this sense of righteousness and entitlement, people can be excused or justified when they are hateful, cruel, inappropriate.

So for sure Kathy Griffin's initial apology sounds pretty hollow when the very next day she is accusing and blaming the Trumps for 'ruining her life'. What kind of person has that kind of mentality?

And we see folks here at DP defending her or blowing off what she did as no big deal, something they would not be doing if she had been a conservative doing that to a liberal. So I have to agree with you that the snowflake mentality is very strong.

But it absolutely does not include all our left of center friends here, some of which are able to be morally and ethically consistent and thoughtful.
